The staff was very welcoming and prompt. The place was filled to about 2/3 occupancy so fairly busy. The wait staff was also very attentive, removing empty plates and cleaning tables when vacated. The food was about average as far as buffets go. The sushi was a little disappointing. Many of the rolls contain cream cheese, not a usual ingredient in sushi. Now this is your typical American Chinese food - not authentic, but it reminded me of the Chinese food I'd get growing up back in Jersey City, NJ. We expected more respect and responsibility because we were a party of 11. They got all of our drinks mixed up and they were yelling at us. We are super duper upset dawg! The oysters were 2 day old oysters and didn't look edible to eat & then the bread was raw. They also basically slammed a drink on the table. Usually all Chinese restaurants have ice cream and they didn't! Not even the white rice was good. The shrimp were also over cooked. We paid $200 and trust me the food was not worth it...to top it off it gave us an upset stomach. At the end we do not recommend this place for a family dinner! My aunt told them the bread wasn't fully baked and they said it was, but there was still flour on top and was white). There wasn't much to choose from but the chicken was harder than a rock! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! (But the only good thing was the Chinese fried rice out of anything) If I could I would leave a -.5 star review. This restaurant was by far the worst I've been to! This place is a little hidden gem in Fort Payne, AL! We stopped here on our way home to MS from TN, and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't fast food or your typical chain restaurant. Their buffet is stocked FULL of hot, delicious Chinese and American fare, sushi, salads, soups, and desserts. Everything we ate was delicious, and for the low price, you can't beat it! You must try it if you're passing through the area. (FYI: the buffet prices have gone up a little bit from what is posted on the menu on Yelp. The Mon - Fri adult lunch buffet went up from $6.25 to $7.49. The ages 7-10 child's lunch buffet went from $3.99 to $4.99. Soft drinks are $1.90 each. Still a great value for such an awesome buffet! Worst Chinese food and service outside of China. Food is cold and they are unwilling to accommodate "special orders" like heating fried fish which was mucho frio! The food here was good. My family and I were skeptical of going here at first, but it didn't disappoint. There is a variety of chicken dishes as well as not so Chinese foods. I got a little bit of everything and it all tasted pretty good. The service here was good. My family went here in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and the servers adapted well to this change. They made sure to stay socially distant and made sure you got your food in a speedy time. We had to fill out a sheet with an expo marker. They have rows and rows of buffet arrangements . I counted 6 different types of shrimp ( breaded , stuffed , buttered , fried ) same with chicken ! They have sirloin , ribs , chicken , spinach and salad . Chinese fried rice and spaghetti . They have 20 different kinds of sushi if that's your thing and a desert stand . They have frog legs and they have ice cream ! It's a lot of fooooood! I won't say much about service . It's a Buffet - I never expect much service - they sit you down , refill your cups, what else do you expect ? I know the food was fresh because they refilled a lot of trays while I was here - about 30 minutes or so . I've been a loyal customer of Chow King since they opened years ago. Friday night 9/7/18 was the worst customer service experience that I have had in any prior visit. I was there with two of my daughters, they love the food there but I doubt we will ever go back. They need to let their customers eat and enjoy their meal without having waitresses hovering over them asking to pay the bill every five minutes. I'm not sure if they've had a bunch of people walk out without paying or something, but this was very aggravating trying to enjoy a meal. I noticed two other couples got up and left after being asked to pay before they were done as well. One made the comment that they would like to finish their meal before being asked to pay. If the owner is worried about getting paid why not charge BEFORE folks start eating. The straw that broke the camels back was the waitress asking for tip while we were still eating. We got up to leave, with our plates still full of food, paid the waitress her tip and left. We won't be back to sit and eat, If we do go back it will be taken to go until they change this... read more

I went by a review on here that said it was an amazing restaurant. In fact, it was not an amazing restaurant. It is a dump, hole in the wall restaurant, if you can even classify this as a restaurant. They had straight up spaghetti noodles for their lo-mein noodles, unsure what the chicken was, some hybrid weird stringy, hard, brown breasted chicken. The stuffed shrimp should be called stuffed wrap around, as there was a glob of something that you pulled a small shrimp out of the middle, nothing stuffed there, the shrimp was roach sized and still had a tail that was just abnormal looking. They were chasing people out of restaurant when we first got there asking "no tip" the man was trying to leave and had already paid but here comes little lady going "no tip". At this point, we should of left. But oh no, we didn't. After trying to eat, their taco crab ragoons, yes taco ragoons I almost broke my tooth off. But, I was determined to eat something. We were there 15 mins or so, when the check came to the table. We were still trying to salvage this meal, when she returned 30 seconds later and demanded for us to "pay now" so we did, and she was super quick to bring us back the receipt, and as I was eating an egg roll, I sat it down and took a drink and went to pick up the remaining portion of my egg roll and the woman took the dang plate, like she yanked my food away from me. No egg roll for me ‍ my husband was going to try and finish his food and get more crab casserole but he too lost his plate and fork, and drink. She just took it all. To top off this lovely hell of a lunch, I got a fortune cookie, empty. No fortune. My husbands fortune, said yo bro, like what the hell kinda cookie was that haha. I didn't tip, I can see why nobody does. This is an okay place to stop at if you're passing through town. No way will this place win any awards for their food quality. But it's dirt cheap compared to other Chinese buffets and the food is comparable. So, you shouldn't feel guilty for having a sensibly sized meal if you're on the road or not that hungry. I would just use common sense. If it looks like it's been sitting there for a long time, it probably has. We stopped late afternoon and the place was packed. The food was good...the service was good. My only complaints are that the temperature inside had to be at least 85 degrees which made it hard to enjoy your meal...and very small children (ages 4 or 5) were being allowed to make their own plates.
