When looking for a great criminal defense attorney look no further than John Prior and The Prior…read moreLaw Firm. I am a current client and had a case brought against me. It was a very sensitive case that involved alleged sexual abuse. John took my case and made it his top priority. He and his staff took the time to investigate the allegations against me as well as put in countless hours of case law review to counter what the state had presented as evidence. Johns commitment with the case including all the motions filed, the endless number of phone conversations we had as well as in office visits going over my case were well woth it in the end. The result of the outcome decided by a jury of 12 was a Verdict of NOT GUILTY. In my mind you will not find a more dedicated attorney to represent an individual and go out of their way to help. The sacrifices his family had to endure while he prepared for trial were countless. This included his weekends, late nights and early morning preperations he spent away from them to work on my case. I thank them deeply for their sacrifice. Once again I would highly recommend John Prior as your attorney. Thanks again for your services John! Chris Bowling

He literally had to look at an Illinois law code guide book after my hearing to see what the law was. He said there was nothing he could do. An amazing person, very caring and passionate about her job! She will go beyond and further to help…read moreher clients. Maureen is the type of person you would want to help you in your case. Defense lawyer is not just a job to her, it's way more than just a job to her. She actually cares and listens.

Atty Maureen Williams is not who she portrays to be this loving, caring, listening, the mission…read morestatement is a bunch of bull! I hired Maureen in Jan to do a case review for a post-conviction for my boyfriend. she charged me 7500 just for the review. I assume she was a good Atty from her reviews. This is farthest from the truth. I asked three questions that were important to me. How long will this review take? will she get the transcripts? and how will you handle his upcoming court date? Her reply was it will take approximately 6 mo. she will get his transcripts and will make an appearance on his behalf. As of 4/24/22 nothing has been done!! NO transcripts. (how can u review if you don't have the facts!!) She called me the day before his court date to ask what this was regarding. (as an atty u cant figure this out} she informed me that she couldn't go because she is still reviewing his case. Remember Maureen didn't say any of this when I asked! no actions have been taken she claims she thought her team was on it. Maureen also sends you highlights of your conversations but I noticed that anything that you have an issue with she doesn't address it, in the notes she sends you. only things that she assumes are going well. For the money that I have paid I expect more, I have since fired Maureen and awaiting my refund of 7500. she stated that she has to charge for her time. I am thinking timing doing what? lying!! I will definitely be filing a complaint with the bar association/ supreme court for her dishonest behavior. There is a ton more but just to give you a glimpse of her character. RUN When you see The office of Maureen Williams you will not regret it!!

Do not hire!!! My family case was pretty simple and I wasn't even sure I needed to move forward…read morewith it but John told me he thought I should, so trusting that he's an attorney and he knows best, I did. Over the course of my case I constantly had to contact John and re send information that I had given him multiple times. He never knew anything about my case while we were in court and he misspoke on SO MANY things. And because of these mistakes my case kept getting postponed and rescheduled. I would email him each time complaining because he would try to charge me for HIS mistakes. In the end the only thing he accomplished for me was child support and I owed him over $3000 total and that's AFTER he would take off the charges when I would point out the negligence. I emailed him after my case closed expressing that I thought $3000 was a lot for child support when I could have went to the office and filed it on my own for much cheaper, not to mention the judge had said he didn't think I even needed to be in court for the original reason that I hired John. In response to my email his wife Nikki emailed me back and said she would take an additional $500 off (if you know you're not in the wrong then you don't offer to take money off). That was in May and on my most recent invoice I noticed the $500 was not taken off and that they're charging me interest on the balance with the $500...when I emailed them Nikkii responded saying she was no longer going to take the $500 off. If I'm correct I believe you cannot tell a client in an email that you'll take $500 off and then turn around 3 months later and say you're no longer going to do it. As an attorney he should know that's not okay, correct? DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN AND HIS WIFE.
