These guys were an absolute lifesaver. My kitten got stuck in a tree. He was up in one of our HUGE oak trees. (I called someone at 7am and he said he would be out in two hours..he was a no show). Now, my kitten was stuck in this tree over two days and he was about 30-40' High. So, I called this company and they dropped everything. They were here in 30 minutes. Shortly after we took in two young cats, each of them decided to climb our redwood tree. The first one was reachable by an agile friend, but the second cat went up so high in the redwood that there was no way to reach him without tree-climbing equipment. After leaving several messages for tree services in Napa and receiving little or no response, I heard from Chris Keller within a short time of my message. This guy was amazing. He started being a "cat whisperer" as soon as he got out of his car and long before he could see the cat. He reassured us, reassured the cat while he donned his equipment and then climbed up -way up. He was artful in getting Charles to cooperate and getting him safely down from that height. His fee was more than reasonable and he obviously cares about these animals he rescues. He'll get our arborist work now after this great experience. PS: So that happened four days ago. Before we could get a tree guard up, Charles went up again and Chris was willing to come back and do the same miracle again today. read more

OK ...THESE GUYS....overheard me , while buying a can of cat food, talking about trying to rescue a cat that was at the top of an unused telephone pole for two days. They said they were tree climbers and could help. They followed me there, assessed the situation...drove all the way across town and got their extension ladder, and came back and helped me...the cat was feral and jumped into the tree when Chris almost got the the top....(very risky I might add)... the cat can get out of the tree. Unimpressed. Getting an estimate and then an appointment was really rinky-dink. No contact after the initial phone call, then the guy shows up out of the blue and asks if they can do the work NOW. I wanted a tree removed- great job. Hedges trimmed - Ok job. They forgot one. I wanted fruit trees expertly pruned to keep size down and still provide fruit. The 2 guy team seemed inept and called me out of the house 4-5 times to check and give my opinion. After the last trip outside I stood on the driveway and pointed "Cut there and there..." etc. Had to remind them to cut a tree they skipped. Honestly. This is what I PAID for: their expertise. I could have read a Sunset magazine article and done it myself except I CAN'T. Needed them to do it and I feel really unhappy that I paid $500 and I had to stand outside and direct the job. Called Chris and 3 other tree service companies to remove 6 redwood trees in my back yard. I met with Chris a second time and we scheduled the job. After the first tree came down I think Chris realized job was to big. He had a small mishap that wasn't a big deal. Part of falling tree cracked neighbors old, never used weed infested basketball court. Neighbor was a bit cranky. We help Chris do the repair by providing him tools and a cement mixer to fix the small section. It was not an issue on my part and neighbor had nothing more to complain about, it was all fixed. After that I felt pressured, he wanted more cash. We had a long discussion and I didn't want to pay anymore until he completed job. He just kept on so I gave him another &1000.00 cash with the understanding he would be back in a few days to compete job. After all that Chris never came back, would not return calls or texts. We have a 60 foot maple tree in our backyard that needed trimming. Joe Molina, who works with Chris Keller, stopped by and gave us an estimate. (I also contacted two other tree services for estimates.) Not only was Joe's estimate the most competitive - he was much more thorough in describing the job they would do and offering and discussing suggestions and recommendations. Joe and his crew did an outstanding job. We've had this tree trimmed many times over the years. This was, by far, the best, most professional job of all. They trimmed and raised the crown, making sure to cover the areas and correct the problems Joe and I had discussed; in some cases, checking with me on options and other suggestions. While they worked, Chris stopped by to see how it was going. You can tell he knows and likes his business, He jumped in, got his gear on and went up in the tree to help out for a while. The team was careful in the way they worked, supporting and lowering branches avoiding damage to our other trees, our plants, our fences, and our neighbors' yards. They were able to keep almost all the debris in our yard, even though our tree spans over into the yards of two of our neighbors. Finally, they did a great job cleaning up. We can't seem to catch a break! This is the 3rd tree service we have called to come help us and not a single one shows up. I actually came to Yelp for help finding a tree service after the last two made appointments to show up and did not. No call, no nothing. We had a 5:00 appointment for today at my residence and nobody ever showed up..... not even a phone call. What makes me even angrier is that we waited outside until after dark for someone to come and couldn't even get a phone call so we would not be left waiting for 2 hours in the dark. Chris came to my house and took down two large birch trees. He had to go over the roof. He accomplished the whole job quickly and efficiently. Contacted Chris Keller's Tree Service for a bid to prune trees on property and within a few days (Friday) a company representative arrived to bid the work. We agreed on pruning shrubs along a fence, cleaning up two Yucca palms and a small area of an Oak tree for an agreed price of $1,000.00. He said they may be able to get to the job on Sunday but would call me on Saturday to confirm. No call on Saturday so I assumed they were not coming and made plans for the day. Bad assumption since they showed up Sunday morning at 10:00 am and said they got busy and forgot to call. Not a big deal so I rearranged my day to accommodate, thinking they would be there the bulk of the day. As it turns out the only work performed was to the shrubbery along the fence and they wouldn't be able to do the other bid items for that price, citing it was more than originally planned. I will say the work to those trees was top notch, but the bid was for three locations and no discussion prior to performing the work as to a change in scope or price of the project. Also the total time on the property was just under 3 hours from start to finish, leaving at 1:00 pm and the only specialize equipment used was a wood chipper. Seems a little pricey to me so I don't think I will be calling them again. read more
