This is the second time that I have used Chris Keller's Tree Service. Both times Chris arrived on time and did an excellent job of trimming very large oak, magnolia, and cypress trees. He removed a huge pine tree that I had. Chris, Doug, and the rest of the crew are friendly and efficient. They clean up the work site and take pride in doing an excellent job. They chip up the tree trimmings and haul everything away. Bids were fair. I highly recommend them. read more

Called Chris and he came out 2 days later & provided a quote that was extremely attractive for pruning 2 large trees, removing one and grinding the stump. He showed up on time and his crew accomplished all of the above in under 4 hours, including excellent clean up. The stump removal company arrived 5 minutes after Chris was done and chewed up the stomp and associated roots in no time at all. Will use Chris again and highly recommend him. read more

I just had a couple of trees trimmed by Chris Kellers Tree Service. Joe came out and gave me an estimate last week. I called to schedule a second estimate with Bartlett (which had been recommended on NextDoor) but they must be pretty busy because they couldn't even get a rep out to give me an estimate for a week! I was concerned with the tree budding out before that rep even came, so I went ahead and called Joe back. They were able to get a team out within a couple of days. Don and Denise showed up on time and did their work while I went off to run errands. In less than 2 hours I got back and they were just finishing up. One of the trees looked perfect but I wanted a couple of "tweaks" to the shape of the other one (which happened to be really large). They didn't wince as I guided them to snip another branch here and "cut that one back there", and when I apologized for being so picky they replied that their only concern was that I was happy with the final product and they would do whatever it took to make that happen. The tree looks great! As Denise was finishing final clean-up I 'borrowed" Don and took him in my back yard to ask about a question about another tree. He not only answered that question but spent a good fifteen minutes walking around my yard with me giving me tips on pruning my trees and roses. It was like a free gardening tutorial! We just bought this house (and therefor these trees and shrubs) last year so I need to learn as much as I can and Don was tremendously helpful. They cleaned up every bit of the trimmings and after they left I spent a good 2 hours in my yard trimming and pulling off sucker growth. I also was able to un-wedge a branch of our beautiful budding fruit tree from where it was growing between the boards of the fence which I hadn't even noticed until Don pointed it out. I really believe this not only saved that branch, it saved our fence from being broken apart as that branch grows. The value of all this was far greater than the price I paid for their services. After 17 years of using quite a few tree services we found Chris Kellers. He answered my initial phone call personally and was out within an hour to assess our trees and give me an estimate which was very reasonable. He and his hardworking crew showed up the next day to trim and shape three of our largest trees. They also thinned out a large privet bush at no additional charge. As they worked they also cleaned up including raking up all the leaves that we hadn't gotten to yet. When they left the trees looked great and the yard looked better than ever! After calling several other companies who promised to have someone call back for an appointment but never did I called Chris after seeing his Yelp reviews. He called me right back, came out to view the job for an estimate on time on the day he said he would come. He bid the job fairly and made recommendations for "later" to improve the future outcomes, he also gave an approximate time that he would need to complete the work. He showed up with a crew on the day he said he would at the time he said he would, the job lasted almost exactly as long as he said it would. In the end, the trees were trimmed, the debris was removed and for the price quoted there were no surprises. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Chris and his crew were fantastic! We had a bunch of small to medium sized trees and one larger tree to be removed from our backyard and they handled it like pros. My husband met with him two days before for an estimate and they agreed on a price (very reasonable) and came back a few days later and got right to work. I received 3 bids to trim out my trees. I ultimately had to remove the 2 old Silver Maples from my front yard. Chris's was the lowest bid and what my brother (who owns a tree service in Redding) said was the most reasonable. However, when Chris set about his work, it became apparent that one of the trees needed to be removed and then I discovered that the other tree's roots were growing underneath my house. Chris and I negotiated a price-another fair deal-and he removed both trees. Work was performed promptly and in awful heat! Clean up was exceptional and his crew even carried the wood into my neighbor's back yard for firewood. Chris is very easy going and likable. Called this guy and had a nice chat with him. Very pleasant on the phone. Explained I wanted a large oak in between two buildings trimmed, and Chris said he could do it. He said he'd be right out that afternoon at 3 to make a bid. I came home and waited for him. He was a no show. Didn't even call to cancel or explain why he missed the meeting and kept me waiting for ever. I don't know about you, but that's not my idea of a good business model. Chris Keller and his team are nothing short of amazing! We had an extraordinarily mammoth job; 3 redwood trees clumped together, about 100 ft high, with each tree being around 50-60 inches in diameter, right next to our house, and on a very busy road. Chris and his team were professional, timely very careful not to harm, or destroy any existing plants/shrubbery and of course, our home. Chris kept a constant eye on the project, followed up after the stump guy was here to do his part. Then, came back a couples times more to do additional clean up. Chris is also very knowledgable about trees and will attempt to save them if at all possible, if that's what you are after. My husband and I can't recommend him enough. When it comes to tree service, it doesn't get much better than Chris Keller and his crew. I had a massive project that was good money for any tree service company. I called 6 tree service companies (5 local small businesses and 1 national company). Out of all the companies, Chris was the most prompt in his availablilty to come provide a quote and when it came time to do the work, he went above and beyond my expectations. Additionaly, his price was well below any of the other quotes. Although his quote might not be a printed out report that is more "professional", don't fear, the work that he does is professional, and the price that he quotes will not change. He removed a 100+ foot liquid amber tree, a huge walnut tree, the world's most ugly spruce tree. He artistically pruned a large camfer tree, massive oak tree, and an overgrown-neglected japanese maple. All this in one small yard in the Bel Aire neighboorhood with close proximity housing. No casualties, accidents, delays or worries. All the neighbors were watching in amazement as Chris worked his magic on a "forest" that hadn't been touched in 30+ years. Do I know Chris personally? It is not often that you find a person who will help you in a time of need on a holiday weekend. I called the three tree service companies on Yelp. The only one that called me back was David Keller called me back. My issue. My cat we at the top of a pine tree. Attempts to get her down sent her higher up the tree. Sunday...a holiday weekend...fire department won't come out for it anymore...what was I going to do? David heard my paniced message and came of immediately. His first attempt didn't work so he went home, got his gear and his assistant, and climbed 60 feet in a dense pine tree to save her. I didn't get a call back from one of the other tree service providers. That told me volumes about him as a person and there isn't one tree company that I would call, or recommend, except for his company. People like David are far and few in between. read more

I had called a number of tree services and Chris and one other were the only ones to return my call. Chris came out the following day, on a Sunday no less!!, and did the work on Monday. He came at the time he said he would for both the estimate and for doing the work. He did a fantastic job cutting the tree back (it's a huge Maple tree), cleaned the gutters and totally cleaned up after it was all done. All this for a reasonable price! Chris and his team are great. They have helped us on several occasions (3 times now) with downed trees after storms, removal and trimming. They show up when they say. I will use them again for any tree work we will need (which will be soon I am guessing). Prices are reasonable and work is excellent. Chris Keller's Tree Service was a great find for us. He & his crew took down two large trees and one smaller one on our property recently. In addition, he trimmed several others that were on the house or starting to crowd the driveway. Finally, he ground out a stump near our front entry way. Price was very reasonable, work was done on time, in a professional manner, and his attention to detail, his arborist's eye, trimming skills and final clean up were all excellent. Wood rounds were stacked neatly and brush was hauled away. He even trimmed a few stragglers from the driveway that weren't in the original bid. Chris Keller and his crew removed 2 awful sycamores from our property. They did a great job, on time and good cleanup...and for a good price. The main reason I give 5 stars is because of the communication! Chris called back within an hour, came out and looked at our trees and had a reasonable bid back to us that afternoon.
