Overall the rest of the service was GREAT but I swear the priest needs to get to the point and not involve his personal life into a new starting and bloom family life and complex things about the bride and grooms future! Under a blessing of god and Jesus under the name of the church. And when I left the church I was hit with a very aggressive "Pray to end abortion" and "Ask me about reversal abortion pills" Signs KEEP POLITICS OUT OF THE CHRUCH SO WE CHRUCH PEOPLE CAN BE IN PEACE WITHOUT POLITICAL STUFF ALL OVER OUR FACES.

There are so many ways to participate, be of service, learn, and just have fun. Members are deeply caring and fascinating people. I feel so appreciated and valued for everything I contribute to the congregation. There is a strong child and youth program for families with children. Extremely LGBTQIA-friendly. I'll start with the positives: There are lots of groups here, the space, although small, is well used, and the music is absolutely amazing! All the congregates seemed so enthusiastic to be there, which really drew me in until the sermon. I also love that they offer ASL interpretations in their recorded sermons! All that being said, I found myself feeling intimidated by the amount of "fire and brimstone" preaching towards sinners and non-believers and was put off by the amount of political discussion by congregation members outside of the service that made me, an openly queer person, feel a bit unsafe and ready to get going as soon as I could. I'm so glad this place works for some people, but the lack of compassion for outsiders did not work for me.

She had made observations about the Priest and parish that were quite frankly not true. First of all, the Priest. He is not celebrating himself. He is, "the real deal", and his parishioners love him dearly. Second, the Church is not dying. It is thriving! I have never seen such an active and alive parish. I have been going to Resurrection for a year and I love everything about this parish. Fr Aaron and the congregation are friendly, welcoming and loving. And the layout of the church is very convenient and accessible.
