******Review update!!*****…read more So I ended up suing Tammis dry cleaning in small claims court through Henry county magistrate court due to my terrible service back in July. We had court this morning and I won! So, they hired a lawyer and I received a letter in August saying that they were basically trying to drop the lawsuit because the company named Tammy's dry cleaning was I believe a proprietor ship and basically they were trying to say that I was suing the wrong company or person. So what I did was I went forth with my lawsuit and they endEd up not showing up to court this morning and the judge sided with me. Initially, I sued for $500, $104 For my dry cleaning bill from July and an additional $400 for pain and suffering. The judge ended up awarding me a little over $200-$104 reimbursement for my bill and a little over $100 for my court fees. So I feel like this was a victory and I look forward to getting my money. I also want to say that if you have ever been treated unfairly particularly based off of your race then you should seek legal action because companies should be held responsible for mistreatment of patrons and they should be held accountable. I'm hoping that the dry cleaner closes down because it is unsanitary, nasty and the business there and the work done as a relates to cleaning clothes is very terrible. This place really shines when it comes to alterations. The prices are reasonable and I got back everything I had altered after a reasonable length of time. I had a pair of my husband's pants taken up and they di did a fine job. But the real test was having them put in a new zipper on a down-filled hooded parka from LLBean that was 29 years old. The jacket was in good shape, but the zipper finally tore. They put in a new one that is just great. That zipper isn't going anywhere! A new parka from LLBean similar to mine would have cost me over $300! I wear petites and it is difficult to find coats to fit me in stores, so I get them from catalogs. The last thing they altered for me was a very nice sweatshirt that my son-in-law had given me for Christmas, that he had had customized for me to commemorate when I had first become a grandma. Unfortunately, he got me a small and I take a petite. It was miles too long when I tried it on. But the tailors at this place managed to make it wearable for me. They shortened it considerably at the bottom and finished it off with some very fine, decorative stitching. The sleeves were much too long but could not be shortened at the ends because of decorative stitching on one of the sleeves. The sleeves could not be taken up at the shoulders, either, because of the type of stitching that the manufacturer had used. Instead, the tailor took in the sleeves where it met at the shoulders, and a little bit below, to make them less bulky. I then just tuck the cuffs underneath the sleeves and voila--! I can wear it. Sorry to have to be negative, but I gave them every opportunity to fix my pants. They actually told me that this is a "small thing" and no one else complains but me. This is after a week of letting them know if the problem and dropping the pants back off to see if they could remove. Treated very rude ...and I had to follow up with them. Never had a return call (as they indicated they would do) Also had a pair of pants dropped off for a hem repair and when I got home I noticed the hem stich only took on one half of the seam..the other was just left hanging. Asked them to fix and they wanted to charge me stating that the work is not free. Too many options out there to suffer throught this...so, be warned..may want to look at some other options for dry cleaning and alterations. Follow up on this --: picked my clothes up today and was literally screamed out of the store by the man behind the counter telling me not to come back and he was closing my account because he thought I wanted something free. (Keep in mind I paid in full for the services the first time...) When I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager and his mom was the owner. Very hostile. VERY inappropriate. I have used them for months and never had an issue...first instance and their customer service was two thumbs way down.
