Really thankful that my dentist referred me to Dr. Rohde! Was in pain for several days from a very angry tooth. Called Dr. Rohde's office and was able to get in that very afternoon. Everyone in the office was happy, personable, professional and caring. Dr. Rohde has attracted some wonderful people to work with him, and that speaks a lot for who he is! Dr. Rohde is very confident and reassuring, making me feel at ease with both his diagnosis and approach. He was very attentive to my concerns (chemically sensitive and don't like a lot of anesthesia, meds, etc) and extremely relaxed, gentle and thorough - incredibly skilled professional. Yes, he did ask me what music I enjoy and played some softly from his iPhone while he worked, sometimes singing along with the tunes. He was relaxed, confident, extremely positive and communicative with me and all his staff. The entire root canal took about an hour from entering to leaving the office! Oh, as to boot, he said my procedure was simpler than anticipated and took $100 off the tab! Dr. Rohde is amazing. I called with a toothache and he saw me within an hour from my call. Prescribed antibiotics and - guess what - just handed them to me saving a trip to the pharmacy. This was my 2nd root canal and let me say that my first experience was like going to a chop shop when compared to my experience with Dr. Rohde. The staff was very friendly and relaxed all the while very professional. Dr. Rohde's bedside manner made me feel at ease from the moment I sat down in the chair. I am usually quite afraid of dental injections but his ability to give a shot in your mouth is insane as I didn't really feel a thing - it was incredible. The whole process was very enjoyable as far as root canals go. I had the pleasure of listening to good music (I was able to pick) and knew I was in the best of hands, I had heard SO MANY good things about Dr. Rohde as he came HIGHLY recommended. He rushes his patients on doing the work and does not take the time to make sure it is truly required. He is both expensive and more than once the billing was wrong. For the kind of money he charges I would get a second opinion. Don't let him rush you that you need a root canal. read more

Dr. Rohde is very skilled at what he does, and very considerate of people like me, who have had a series of very bad dental experiences. My issue isn't pain, it's claustrophobia -- I hate the dams, the x-ray gizmos, all the stuff jammed into my mouth. The form you fill out before you go in actually asks whether you have any problems with dental work. He was very careful to free the dam up so I could breathe through my mouth or my nose, and checked in with me repeatedly to make sure I was doing okay, explain what he was doing, and to let me know where we were on the timeline to completion. He called that evening to check in, and by the next morning, I had no pain at all. (I was able to work part of my graveyard shift that very night.) The whole thing was a lot less painful than the crown prep my (former) dentist gave me. His assistant wasn't nearly as on top of it or considerate, which is why he has four stars instead of five. read more

He is so good at what he does and is attentive to ensure even squeamish patients are as comfortable as possible thru the whole procedure. I had an emergency root canal before a flight the next day and thought I was calling his office. I ended up dialing his home number by mistake yet he didn't hesitate to make time the next morning. NOT suggesting you make my mistake and call him at home but know you are in the best hands with Dr Rodhe. read more

I have been going to Dr. Rohde for a number of years after a series of unfortunate experiences with some other endodontists. I have had many root canals and other types of dental work. Dr. Rohde and his staff are very kind and welcoming. I love the doctor's music, and easygoing personality and his work is spot on. My nickname for him is "painless". I am a RN and have always found him to be a consummate professional, very patient in his explanations and gentle. He will also try to work with you on the financial part so you will not be as stressed. Even though he closed his Novato office and I now have to travel further he is my first choice for endodontic procedures. He is well respected by his colleagues here in Marin as well. read more

Dr. Rohde is a very good Doctor and did my root canal with lots of care and I could tell he was proud of his work. The main reason I wanted to write this review is because we also had some billing issues and he is a stand up guy and totally did the right thing. He has given me faith again that there are still good people out there and he seems like a really nice dude. If I could give more stars, I certainly would. Dr. Rohde is the best endodontist I have ever had. (I have unfortunately had 5 root canals over the years). I first saw him for a retreat of a failed root canal and he worked his magic to fix the problem. It has been several years and I have not had any problems with it. And to think I thought I was going to have to lose the tooth. I have gone back to see him for two additional root canals and knew with confidence that I was going to be taken care of. He knows endodontics and knows how to do it well. You're in good hands!!! read more

I was reasonably impressed with the doctor himself, but very disappointed in the staff at the office. I was suffering serious pain and called the after hours answering service. The service rep actually said that 4 am was too early in the morning to call and she did not want to try to reach the on-call doctor. I ended up in the ER that night. The next morning, I called requesting an emergency appointment, given my excruciating pain, and the receptionist, Barbara, said that they could open the tooth up, which could relieve some pressure, but that I'd have to return 3 days later to finish the procedure. She said there was no other doctor available in the office. I proceeded to find another super qualified doctor who took my pain and my situation seriously and immediately fit me into his schedule. Later that day, the other office of Marin Endodontics phoned me and said they could in fact fit me in with another dr in the group. Of course, this was way too late. Just overall not very helpful, informed or kind people. read more

i needed a root canal on my #15. i knew it.i called around marin county and no one could fit me in until many days later.i made contact with Rhodes' office and they said "can you come in now?" of course.shoot on over the hill.inside and doing some paperwork and i get placed in an exam room within 9 minutes.maybe 7 minutes later i have an xray. and about 5 minutes later Rhode is applying anasthetic.i have dental horror stories.this guy has his act polished.he did sing along to the music playing in the office.if i was making $1910.00 for about an hour of work i would be singing too.painless and proficient.clean and easy. read more
