Had a good experience having a tooth extracted by Dr Kashef. Hope I'll never have to go back, but definitely would if the need arose.

In my experience, Dr. Mason Lee's implant treatment resulted in a long, painful, and expensive ordeal. My two dental implants were placed without using a surgical guide, and they ended up in positions and at angles that could not be properly restored with crowns. When I asked Dr. Lee to remove the implants and redo the entire procedure, including the necessary bone grafting, he told me he preferred not to because rebuilding the bone horizontally after removing the implants might not be successful. He also said that he did not feel confident performing that procedure and acknowledged that it was beyond his limitations. At a follow-up appointment, he offered only to remove the implants. By that point, I no longer felt comfortable continuing treatment with him and decided that I wanted another implant surgeon to handle my case from start to finish. Instead of covering the full cost of correcting the problem, Dr. Lee refunded only a portion of the fees I had paid for my treatment. As a result, I had to spend many thousands of additional dollars to have the improperly positioned implants removed, undergo bone grafting, and have two new implants placed by another surgeon. Because I had to seek treatment from another implant surgeon, the entire corrective process took approximately a year and a half. It involved removing the improperly positioned implants, performing bone grafting, allowing time for healing, and then placing two new implants in positions that allowed my treatment to move forward. This experience cost me significant additional time, money, physical pain, and emotional stress--far beyond what should have been required for what is typically a routine implant procedure. I am writing this review to help other patients understand my experience before choosing an implant surgeon. I simply do not want another patient to go through what I went through. If you are considering implant treatment, I strongly encourage you to ask whether a surgical guide will be used, discuss the treatment plan in detail, and consider obtaining a second opinion before proceeding.

The woman in the front office, Kaelinn, is very kind and polite. However, everything else at this…read moreoffice is a mess. The dentist was pretty dismissive of my concerns at the initial consult for my wisdom teeth removal; I wrote this off as being due to my own nervousness about the procedure. Then, Limchaseng prescribed me medication that I was allergic to, and it took two weeks of (mostly unreturned) phone calls for me to get that straightened out. He claimed that I probably wasn't really allergic, and that it would be fine: I had to insist to get a different medication prescribed. The bigger issue, though, had to do with extremely shady financial dealings. The first thing I had asked was whether they accepted my insurance; I was assured over and over again that they did. Then, when I came in to pay the deposit, they did a complete bait and switch. They waited until I had paid $600 deposit, and then demanded an additional $3,000 dollars seconds later, and said they would not perform the surgery unless I paid it, claiming that my insurance was unreliable. When I questioned the change, Limchaseng came out and was extremely unprofessional, asking me why I thought it was okay to not pay him and why I thought it was acceptable for him to not pay his staff a living wage(?). This all happened 5 days before my scheduled surgery: I had already taken time off from work, as had my partner, and I really needed to have the procedure done on the scheduled date. Luckily, Novato Oral Surgery had an opening on that date - they were kind, compassionate, and professional, and took excellent care of me. My insurance came through with no problem, and the total out of pocket cost was 1/3 what Limchaseng had initially charged for a "deposit." Also, Limchaseng exclusively hires young women, and calls everyone who works in his office as "his girls." These women seem to be good at their jobs, but the way he refers to them is very odd and off-putting: adult women are not children. Strongly recommend everyone pay attention to all the negative reviews here and find a different oral surgeon!

When you go back, they tell you they can repair it, but you'll have to pay a second time. That was my experience with Dr. Alex McDonald. I ended up being charged an additional $300 to have a hole that was left behind re-stitched because it had become impossible to clean properly. This was in their email response when I pushed back. "The courtesy adjustment of $1,516.40 was applied to the 3D scan, 1 hour of IV sedation, and the debridement of the lower right area. This was basically all at no charge." All of which I paid for on my intital visit. What was most concerning was that when I shared this experience with other dentists and mentioned his name, none of them seemed surprised

I'm in the process of tooth removal/dental implant procedures with Dr. McDonald. I mainly went to…read morehim because my Dentist refered him and a friend who works with dentures/implants said he rated good. Long story short, my front tooth was failing from an injury almost 30 years. After getting assessed in an initial consult, getting second opinions, etc. I went with Dr. MacDonald and had the first part done almost 6 months after the initial consult, I chose that because of work obligations and my wife was getting a graduate degreee and I wanted to look ok in the pictures. I just had part 1) tooth removal in June, and his staff seemed to do a good job. I was put out and the process wasn't too painful, I filled prescriptions of antibiotics and painkillers that day. I coordinated with my dentist to get a temporary piece (or stayplate) a couple days after the intial procedure. So far good. My dental insurance from work covers a little bit of the expenses but the majority of dental insurances don't really cover it, they mainly do preventative care (cleanings and fillings). I had already put some into my FSA/HSA, unfortunately the timing of when I scheduled was after open-enrollment so I wish I had set aside more funds. Like I said, so far so good, and it's my front tooth so it'd be nice if it looked and felt good.
