At the time we were looking for a homeschool hybrid option that was close to where we live. What we got was a whole lot more! Small class sizes, diverse student body, welcoming community of parents/staff, hybrid/homeschool/& full time options, AFTERSCHOOL CARE!, summer camps, running club, gardening time, etc. It's a smaller school with lots of opportunity for parent involvement and input. My kids are known, cared for and challenged. During our oldest child's kindergarten year, the small class sizes gave her many one on one teaching moments, her curriculum was tailored to her needs and the teacher even gave her more advanced work to keep her engaged and challenged. Our daughter blossomed and stepped out of her shell, she would give class presentations throughout the year for her classmates, was the "class ambassador", and got to do many fun projects. To see her loving to learn, feeling safe at school, making friends (with all ages!), and taught from a biblical perspective....was worth every penny, and given the affordable tuition and sibling/military discount...it wasn't as many pennies as we thought to give our kids this gift. The campus may be on the older side of ancient (renovation is coming soon though!), the student body is still growing (they opened in 2017), and extracurriculars are still being organized (which means lots of opportunities for involvement!)...yet the families, students, staff and teachers are truly amazing. The people and curriculum make it a down to earth school where heart and head work together. Our kindergartener is doing basic math, short class presentations, memory verses, sounding out words and writing better. We will definitely have our 4th kid in here when he is 2 years old and able to enroll. It is well worth starting early, and very affordable. The staff & core values are on a traditional solid Christian foundation. In an age when you even have to vet through several levels to see if a Christian-branded school is doing some social experiment with your kids - it is refreshing to have the down to earth transparency here. The curriculum for our littles is age-appropriate & advanced (we went to top universities and my wife was involved in education before getting her PharmD & is very pleased with it). The staff care so much, and you can tell they do it because they love the kids!! When I was growing up in public school, older kids would harass you if you went in their playground - but here the older kids include the younger kids. If you are looking for a place that will love on your kids, lead them to God while using their brain, take your kids wherever they are in life, lead them in traditional time-proven methods, and because it is small see the high schoolers care for the littles like family - this is the place for you!

Their AIM program is brilliant as is there Choice program. We have experienced both and the TLC staff and their support is 100% and their attitude is 100% positive and child oriented. There are no politics at TLC. There is just a truly caring atmosphere and it is fully geared to each child. I've loved working with the staff, from Giulia at the front desk, to Ms. Katie - the Director for Scripps Ranch, to academic and behavioral staff, and of course, to our wonderful teacher, Ms. G.!!! TLC has really turned my son's education experience around and we're now on a positive, productive path.

From the FRIENDLIEST FAMILIES of any community group in the city, to the highly-praised Reggio Emilia teaching method of "learning through play", my only regret about this school is that it's not Pre-K-12th grade! The staff and teachers here are absolutely incredible. Your child is loved, protected, and encouraged. The school days here are magical, focused on plenty of attention to your child (no chaotic "kids going wild" environment here), singing, dancing, open-ended play, art, gardening, and the teaching of EMPATHY towards others. The facility is on-point to what young children need and crave: warm, inviting, and with simple open-ended play structures and toys. The community here is on-point to what parents of preschooler's need and crave: friendly, supportive, and relatable. EVERY single child that graduated here with my oldest son (there were about 8) and went on to Kindergarten with him at our local elementary school were among the nicest, most socially adapted children in the population of the grade. I'm not going to lie, this was also much needed for our own sanity having at least one child attending school Monday - Friday.  I could not possibly give The Evans School a high enough rating. It's the type of place that creates raving fans and most importantly good humans. Alumni now send their children to the school. They continually honor grandparents and our military. It's not for everyone as it is more traditional in a world that seems to have abandoned more traditional values. I personally chose a path of service as a firefighter/paramedic and entrepreneur. My wife and I will continue to do whatever it takes to send our son to this amazing school because our priority is developing a strong foundation in learning while simultaneously instilling the values that create extraordinary humans.

TCS is a Reggio Emilia school, that breeds a deep community of connectedness within the parent group, as well as student to teacher group. The most impressive part is that was three years ago, and each day since has been equally as wonderful. As a mother of a Kindergartener, I value the consistent positive energy of the staff, and their prioritization of social and emotional well being, specifically during these very impressionable early childhood years. There is a strong connection between staff and students, as well as staff and parents. There is a strong connection amongst the community as well, fostered by the rare privilege of an open campus environment for parents. Drop off and pickup feel like a family gathering through and through. We as parents also learn from the very experienced teachers as well, via our children. The teachers model strong communication skills and encourge friends to "send messages," to one another during challenging as well as happy times. They teach "whole body listening," where friends are encouraged to engage their minds, ears as well as their hearts. Back then they brought in a PB institution, Janie Cushing, to teach tap and ballet. Our daughter loved it and continued with Janie for several years. The best memories of the great education my girl received. I'm so glad it's going strong.
