My daughter has been attending Door to the Future for a little over a year now and we are so happy we found this school! We have seen so much growth in her learning and social emotional skills. Door to the Future is an amazing daycare. My daughter loves going to school and she enjoys her classes very much. This daycare provides a great combination of social interaction, active play, outdoor time, and excellent academic instruction. Ms. Jeanette is extremely knowledgeable and very approachable. She's always available to help with any questions. My daughter loves her teachers. Some of her favorites that she talks about are of course Ms. Jeanette, Ms. Vivian, Ms. Gina, Ms. Azhar, and Ms. Khalat. The teachers truly care about the kids and really love them. Miss Azhar was taking care of my daughter since she was less than a year. Miss Gina is absolutely wonderful in the mornings. When I'm rushing to go to work, she makes sure to help me with my daughter to say quick goodbyes to make the transition easy for her every time. My son also went to this daycare when he was younger, and he was in Ms. Allison's class. He let me know that he liked Ms. Allison's methods and their reward system to keep learning entertaining and engaging. I can't express how grateful I am to have found this school for my daughter Mia. When we first started it was rough with lots of crying as she was only used to mama. Mrs Janette the school principal went above and beyond to make myself and Mia comfortable and worked with her and what she needed to adjust. I'm so glad I stuck it out after a month or two we adjusted her so well and now she is thriving and walks herself right in happy to go everyday! She loves walking into Mrs Jeenas class in the morning and goes right to her table for breakfast and to start her day. Mrs sareen also is unbelievably patient and kind. Both teachers are amazing and Mia loves them you can truly feel how much they care and love the kids! I can't thank them enough for caring for all the children truly like their own. Not only is everyone kind and attentive the level of education she has learned is outstanding. She just turned 2 and is saying her entire alphabet, colors... etc. my first daughter who is older went somewhere else and she was NO WHERE near the level Mia is at currently going here. Excellent facility with extraordinary teachers & staff! We have been taking my oldest son since he was 10 months old and now our two month old will join in. The teachers in the nursery especially Ms. Monica and Ms. Magnolia greet my son with a smile and immediately start playing with him as to detour him from noticing that he's being dropped off. The crafts, art & holiday gifts they make are wonderful keepsakes that my husband and I proudly display. We've never had an issue with diaper rash, lice or an upset child. They have two separate playgrounds & they make great efforts to be outside when the weather permits. We're so thankful Ms. Jeanette has made room for our two boys! Definitely a lifesaver! We cherish Door to the Future so much that we stuck with them even after moving to Rancho San Diego. You can't beat the staff or the price. When I moved to East County, I had to scramble to look for a new preschool for my daughter. I had doubts about finding another good preschool. We wanted one with a good teacher to student ratio. When looking for a school, we wanted a place that would be willing to work on improving her academics. Many do not prioritize academics at all since learning through play seems to be the modern philosophy. One of the parents in my neighborhood had recommended it. The director and her staff are always pleasant to talk to. I like to ask a lot of questions about how my child's day went and the director has always given me detailed assessments. Even when she's had a bad day, the director would explain the situation, giving me a better idea on how to approach my child about future actions. I've made requests for them to work with my child on specific things and they've always made an effort to fulfill them. I'm very impressed at how wow my daughter has done at the school. She seems to be doing much better socially than when she started at this school about 9 months ago. I always try & give an honest review. I enrolled my daughters in Oak Tree Academy and not even 3 months later they had made an announcement that it would be under new ownership. Once it transitioned over to Door to the Future, all of the GOOD TEACHERS quit. Parents were never notified about teachers transitioning and who they would actually be with for the day. There would be mornings/afternoons where I would have to try and have to figure out where my kids should go in the morning and where I would pick them up in the afternoon. It was extremely frustrating. There was a afternoon where I was actually having to open door to door to find my children and realized they were with a teacher I never knew before. I opened the door and my child was as on a changing table and the teacher did not have wipes so she decides to grab a paper towel and wipes her but with a dry paper towel after her but was already irritated. Ms. Maria is no longer there thank god but i was very upset and let the director know and she had told me that that was her last day. My next issue would be the daily reports. We received reports of what our child was doing EVERY DAY while at Oak Tree, when nap times were, when they would change your child, what they would EAT for breakfast and lunch. It stopped the day new ownership happened and it did not sit well with me. After having a meeting with Ms. Jeanette, I received the reports for maybe about a week and it stopped again. Oak tree was known to serve home cooked meals and would take nutrition seriously for the kiddos. Now, it's cereal and milk every morning, chicken nuggets and Mac n cheese, and snacks would be goldfish ALWAYS. I think my final straw was when they received a licensing report and it wasn't taken seriously and beat around the bush. Ms Jeanette handed us an acknowledgement of report and had told us to sign but didn't tell the story of what happened. I come to find out the teacher who was actually hitting kids was the teacher who was with my twin daughters. She was also fired from Oak Tree and brought back by Ms Jeanette. As a parent, it's already hard enough to trust 1 person with your child. Once you break that trust, it's just time to look for a new place & that's exactly what I did. I hope that they can get this place back to what it was because this facility is great. read more

Since she was a baby I would bring her for drop ins when needed and never had to worry one bit about her care. We enrolled my two-year-old twin grandsons in Door to the Future, about eight months ago. They had never been to daycare before, they came from out of town, and a divorce situation. We have had a lot of unique situations, restraining orders etc.. Which meant lots of phone calls and documentation and lots of extra work for the staff. In the back and forth domestic situation, the one thing that remained was, we always always always felt that they were completely safe at Door to the Future. Ms. Jeanette and her amazing staff went above and way way beyond. The boys have learned so much there. They are not even three yet, They know their colors, their alphabet and their numbers!! They are so amazingly smart and have completely come out of their shell. **UPDATE** 2019 The twins are now 5 years old, they stayed at Door to the Future until they went to kindergarten. It broke our hearts for them to go out into the big world they were so safe and happy there. It's clear that they learned so much because at Door to the Future, they are FAR ahead of most of the kids in kindergarten. They are actually reading books already. I will start off by saying that I am extremely happy with the decision to enroll my son in Door To The Future! My sons mother and I were cautious about the facility that would care for our child while we were at work and the director Ms. Jeanette did a wonderful job demonstrating not only the safety of the children while in her care, but also the social skills and learning capabilities they're teaching the kids. Initially, I was nervous about anyone taking care of my son before he was able to communicate to us but I can whole-heartedly say that I am confident in Ms. Jeanette and her staff members when it comes to my child. My son is a late talker and he is having trouble with communicating his words-his vocabulary is minimal and he still babbles his words, but communicated nonetheless. Before my sons enrollment, she ensured that I would see growth in my son and she did not disappoint. In as little as 2 weeks I have see a noticeable difference in my sons confidence socially and intellectually. She is in constant communication throughout the day which is comforting to say the least in addition to knowing the progress he is making. My daughter graduated from Door to the Future (DTTF) last week, after having attended the preschool/daycare since she was 6-weeks old. My now 8-year-old son also attended DTTF from the time he was in the infant classroom up through this past spring for after school care. This means we have been with DTTF for about seven years, and saying goodbye now is bittersweet. My kids are definitely ready to move on since they have been so well prepared, but they will miss the school, and I will, too. Is DTTF for everyone? No, but what place is? Choosing childcare is a personal matter, and the decision will always come down to what is the best fit for your particular family. For my family, DTTF has been perfect, and here is the main reason why: Ms. Jeanette. I truly believe that the leader of an organization sets the tone, and in this case, director Ms. Jeanette is the best leader I could have hoped to find. She is conscientious, passionate about her work, and her love for every child is always apparent. When my husband and I were initially searching for care for our children, we liked the idea of a center setting, but we still wanted to know that our children would be with people who were warm and kind. To us, DTTF offered the best of both worlds. On the one hand, our children learned how to socialize within a structured, school-like environment. Transitioning into kindergarten was easy for my son, and I know that will be the case for my daughter this fall. On the other hand, our children were cared for and about as if by loving family. Every day when I picked up my kids, they couldn't leave without giving their teachers hugs goodbye! In terms of learning, my children both graduated from DTTF knowing how to count to 100, how to sound out basic words, how to recognize all of their shapes and colors, and more. But, of greater importance to me, they were able to get along well with teachers and classmates. They had confidence in themselves, while also knowing how to treat others with respect. Even in rare instances when I had a difference in philosophy with the teaching staff, I admired how Ms. Jeanette was always open to hearing my thoughts. Rather than being defensive, she is the type of person who cares about the feelings of her families and wants to work toward coming up with solutions together. She has integrity. These are the types of basic values that I hope to provide my kids and having them reinforced in teamwork with DTTF has helped build a solid foundation of life skills for my children. read more

Door to the Future is an absolutely amazing school! We are so blessed that our daughter gets to go to such a wonderful preschool and my daughter loves being there. Ms. Jeanette and her staff do an outstanding job teaching these young minds, I am amazed at what my 3 year old can do; from writing her name, being able to identify every letter and know what sound it makes, counting to 40, spelling every single color and starting basic reading and much more... all while having fun! My daughter comes home proud to show off her school work and show us what she's learned. Not only is the staff incredible at teaching but they are great at making individual connections with each child. The school's main focus is to show love to the children and teach them to feel proud of themselves. I regularly hear Ms. Jeanette saying "I'm so proud of you" and giving hugs to the children. The staff is also really great at making connections with the parents; I am always kept in the loop on what is going on and how my child is doing. Door to the Future has exceeded all expectations I had on what a child would learn and experience and come out knowing after preschool. Initially their curriculum is why I chose to bring my daughter there, it is what I noticed had set them apart from all the other preschools we looked into. I can absolutely say she learned everything we were told the kids were taught and so much more. She grew socially, emotionally and her vocabulary excelled, she could read words. The list goes on and on. I put my daughter in preschool at 2.5 years old. So many told me "she is too young or let her be a kid." I firmly believe putting her in preschool at this age is one of the best decisions I have ever made for my daughter. Preschool sets the academic foundation a child needs. She came out knowing more than most kindergarteners know. Now she is in a Spanish immersion school and doing very well. I know this is because of the strong academic foundation she received at Door to the Future Preschool. I am very thankful to all the wonderful staff for investing in my daughter the way they did.
