Date: September 13, 2025 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an incident of attempted sexual assault that occurred on August 8, 2025, at Christiana Skating Rink. On that evening, I was one of the last females leaving the rink. The rink's owner, Alex last name unknown, approached me and attempted to persuade me to go with him after skating hours. He then tried to lure me to his car and touched me inappropriately on my private areas without my consent. I was extremely frightened and felt unsafe. I believe there were no witnesses, but my reaction made it clear that I was not consenting. Since that night, I have been deeply distressed. I continue to think about this incident every night, and I will not return to Christiana Skating Rink because of the trauma it has caused me. I am requesting that this report be taken seriously, documented, and investigated. I also ask that any available surveillance footage from the rink on August 8, 2025, be preserved and reviewed, as it may serve as important evidence. Please let me know what next steps will be taken in response to this report. read more

We went to this skating rink on Sunday for the 1pm-5pm skate. It was awesome and very affordable for a family of 4. The employees were great, especially the young man that gave us our roller blades. This place is great for families or friends to get together and have fun. A true Delaware staple as well. They can host public and private parties, as well as fundraising events. Tuesday night is pretty decent, and especially great if you have young ones as there are Learn to Skate classes right before the session. The prices have gone up quite a bit in recent years, but it makes sense with inflation and food costs. The biggest issue are the rental skates. They used to have high quality sure-grip rentals, which have now been replaced with lower quality rentals. Despite the great team repairing skates there are often small issues with each pair. I highly recommend buying a personal pair of skates from CSC though. Prices are the same as online and their selection is unmatched around northern Delaware. read more

I attend a skating party this past Friday( July 14,2023). This was my very first time in this establishment and I promise it will be the last. My experience watching the younger skaters which did not know how to skate. However, wanted to join in the fun. Therefore, I went to the attendant who issued the skates. I asked him if the establishment had the supporting skate bars for the smaller kids? He said no they did not have them, and that people can bring their own if wanted. I said to him, that is the wrong answer, I kids can stay home a skate in the street with their support bar in that case. Therefore, I asked to speak with the manger. Well she couldn't give a d***, she told me some bs and had the worst attitude. I politely thanked her and walked away. Please believe, this skating establishment needs new management and should invest in skate supporting bars for their younger skaters. If they rent skates small enough for children 2yo thru 6yo they should have skate support bars so they are able to enjoy their skating experience. Ok, so I'm rating this place 4 stars because my mom and I had a good experience here. This place takes song requests and actually plays them! They'll take requests from 60's - 90's. AND they let you bring your headphones and listening devises for music onto the rink which is very cool. I know some rinks that won't take requests AND refuses to allow you onto the rink with an iphone. This place had maybe 75-90 people there the whole night. A Friday night wasn't too crowded AT ALL. My mom had a ball and didn't get discouraged after her first fall. And my mom loves skating. She's 68. Now for some advice. The referees skating around need to be more proactive in helping older skaters up off the floor if they just see them sitting there. Common sense would tell me if a woman just stays on the floor sitting means she can't get up on her own strength. The referees were not helpful. They need to be more aware of what's going on. There were also kids coming onto the rink with toys in their hands that fell onto the rink floor a couple of times which could have been a hazard but am glad that didn't cause someone to fall. Also some kids were literally running/skating onto the floor from the sides, completely disregarding the skaters already skating in a path around the rink. Those kids should have been told to come onto the rink not at a running pace. If there's an improvement to be made in the future, railings around the rink to help younger, older, and beginner skaters would be very great so they have something to pull themselves up with(since the referees don't do anything). read more

I skate for the Diamond State Roller Derby Team and we practice and play here! The hardwood floor is well taken care of and everyone always has a good time at our games here! During our games we also have beer served by Dogfish Head Brewery! Every time we have other teams come skate with us they always say how nice the floors are here and how nice they are to skate on. It's a skating rink, there isn't much to review. The rink is smooth and clean, the music is fine and they'll play all the requests. The arcade part is fine, nothing extraordinary. The food is not that good so skip it if we can and eat somewhere else. My biggest problem are the bathrooms. They smell like a subway. Take out the carpet. Not sure how employees or management walk past that everyday and think it's ok. I could only imagine the bacteria growing in there. read more

Update: 4/19/15 We (UD Class of 2018) have given up on this rink. They won't allow us a late evening party, they won't allow us to bring in a real DJ, we have just chalked it up. They aren't flexible at all! It's sad that there aren't any other rink options in Delaware. Well, I guess the solution to the suggestions about adult night was to get rid of it all together. I really don't understand the marketing strategy this rink uses in regards to bringing in people of age and not just families with kids but whatever. Absolutely horrible music. This is what happens when a business has no local competition..they play the same old 80's music, very depressing to come here. If there was a skating rink in the movie Napoleon Dynamite, it could of been filmed here because of how amazing corny and outdated it feels..... the faces on the skaters reveal their lack of enthusiasm for being here... particularly on Sundays Adult Skate. Most people just come here just because there's nothing else to do. Music aside, the floor is decent, pretty spacious, and they keep the place presentably clean. read more

I haven't been skating in over 10 years and this place brought back some memories. We came here for a kid's birthday party. This skating center has a huge floor and I love that the skates weren't hideous and funky looking. The food was not very good but it would do if you're starving or want to hang out in the concession area. I skate at Christiana Skating Rink all the time, I mean it's the only one in the area, some sessions are good and some are not so good. Last night, Thursday's, session was probably one of the best nights I have been to this year. The night manager Anthony is THE BEST! I tried to arrange a SMALL GATHERING for my daughter's 10th birthday party. She had her heart set on skating but I can't pay hundreds of dollars for a "package party" and only had a handful of guests, so it wouldn't even be worth it. I called and spoke with a manager simply requesting to bring in my own cake. She said no, even after I explained the situation and expressed how unreasonable that was. I asked if I could have a discounted rate since I had so few and again she said no, our minimum is 8 people. That would have been the kind thing, the right thing to do. But like most places now, she couldn't see past her own wallet and refused to budge or even try to accommodate in even the smallest way. Brought my family here, had a good time. They didn't have size 5 but started as low as size 7 for toddler. Music was good, no kiddie changing station in the restroom and food was not good that we had. I would go back again for the skating and music and family filled atmosphere. read more

Came here on a Saturday . They expanded the night to kids night . They play absolutely no skating music except for exclusive skates and then want to play all trap music.! I love to dance and am fully capable, but there is no variety. There is a female ref who is terrible. This skating rink has went down hill. We have no more skating rinks in Delaware so it would be nice to have one that fulfills the diversity of all of the attendees. Sure perhaps saying losing was a bit harsh but perhaps Christiana should consider elevating its entertainment. read more

I made this account while sitting in the car from 6:45 pm - 7:18 pm, this evening, waiting for my daughter and her friends to get into the skating rink. This is the third Tuesday, in a row, where it took 30 minutes for my girls to get in. I understand that the "Kids Skate Free" passes are what help keep this rink afloat but there has to be a quicker, better way to handle the line. From my observation of the patrons and the number of individuals actually skating, it would seem very beneficial to this skating rink if there was another weekday session added to the schedule. There has been a very clear change in the climate of individuals coming to the Tuesday night session and I can almost foresee these sessions ending badly, as some of the Friday night sessions have. With the changing of the seasons, bringing warmer temperatures, allowing patrons to choose between two weekday sessions instead of one, there can be more of a balanced crowd, instead of everyone trying to cram into the skating rink on one specific day. I have read the other reviews and it seems like administration of this rink is stuck in it's ways and does not want to bring it into the new millennium. With this being the only rink in the area, it would awesome if the schedule was more accommodating. I will be back in about an hour, hopefully my girls had a good time. The staff here is very rude! I asked for a size 8 skate and the guy working there gave me a size 6 rollerblade when I asked him to switch the skates from rollerblades to regular skates the man groaned and rolled his eyes at me. The later when my friend had fallen down and could not get up even though there are staff members skating around no one helped us until I started yelling for help. Also, the place is very dirty. I went to the bathroom but decided to not after seeing all the stalls locks where broken and the toilets were dirty and clogged! The music sucks as well. They play the same old songs every time. Even when they are not playing horrible 90's songs they are playing 2015 dance music. It was so bad most people were wearing headphones to listen to there own music. Attended the Sunday night adult skate on 1/18/2015. The music is horrible!! The music is old, out dated and geared towards shuffle skating!! You need to bring your music more current with the year 2015. They don't give a variety of fast a slow songs throughout the evening. People do like to skate slow sometime and 2 slow songs in a 3 hour session, is not enough. Oh and they had a nerve to do fast backwards skating but you could freely do that all night so I didn't see a need to have a special fast backwards skate. read more

"I don't give a F***" was the words of one song, another to do with B*tch repeatedly ......off all the songs in the USA .....this is what you play??? how are we suppose to skate to tunes that beep beep beep the curse words so there are just a ton of blanks in the song and some curses slip through? Then we wonder what is wrong with our teens today...........they can't even skate without hearing nasty lyrics......shame shame :( Not all teens listen to curse music and for the ones that do let them listen on their ipods not while at a FAMILY skate center please. read more
