When maintenance was called they claimed to have plowed. Do these pictures look like a plowed lot? They said they do the minimum required by city code. Unfortunately this isn't even a minimum. A sheet of ice over compacted snow. This company only cares about collecting their money and not the wellness and safety of their residents. Edited to say...this company had the audacity to TOW the cars of the kids who were stuck on their icy lot! Talk about an extreme unfairness.

Date: September 13, 2025…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an incident of attempted sexual assault that occurred on August 8, 2025, at Christiana Skating Rink. On that evening, I was one of the last females leaving the rink. The rink's owner, Alex last name unknown, approached me and attempted to persuade me to go with him after skating hours. He then tried to lure me to his car and touched me inappropriately on my private areas without my consent. I was extremely frightened and felt unsafe. I believe there were no witnesses, but my reaction made it clear that I was not consenting. Since that night, I have been deeply distressed. I continue to think about this incident every night, and I will not return to Christiana Skating Rink because of the trauma it has caused me. I am requesting that this report be taken seriously, documented, and investigated. I also ask that any available surveillance footage from the rink on August 8, 2025, be preserved and reviewed, as it may serve as important evidence. Please let me know what next steps will be taken in response to this report.

I rented some figure skates and they were extremely poor quality with no support. The unsharpened blades and the quality of the ice made it so I could not skate properly. I can normally hockey stop on one leg, but there, I would just slide across the ice if I didn't break with two legs. Good scenery and nice atmosphere though.

Also, outside, you do have to sign a waiver form for each person entering, and hand it to attendant at the window, inside. For Friday night open-skate sessions must pre-purchase tickets online. You'll get email with barcodes to scan at window inside. $10 per person (includes rental for roller skates or roller blades) even if you're not skating. None of the skates have 1/2 sizes. You leave 1 shoe in exchange for the skates as collateral (lol that's new to me), and you can hide your other shoe under the seats somewhere if you don't want to pay for lockers. I've never paid for a locker in my life and never lost a shoe if that helps.

They offer 5$ and 10$ public adult sessions as well as ice skating public group lessons. Pretty affordable! Their group lessons are 140 for 6 lessons if you have ice skates or 152 for 6 lessons if you need ice skate rentals. Their group lessons are super fun and the coaches for both group and private lessons are very knowledgeable. They also have a list of coaches on their website if you are interested in private lessons. I skate her doing public group lessons as well as weekly private coaches lessons. It's 17$ to make a ice slot reservation to practice alone or with a coach.

The front desk said it was a liability and they didn't allow them, so my son was crushed that he wouldn't be able to skate. We paid, padded him up with a helmet, elbow pads, and padded hockey shorts. While we were putting on his skates, an older woman came over and told us that hockey gear is NOT ALLOWED to be worn on the ice for public skating!!!!!! So, if your child is learning to skate DON'T GO HERE! What a waste of money and incredibly unfriendly, UNhelpful people!!

The biggest issue are the rental skates. They used to have high quality sure-grip rentals, which have now been replaced with lower quality rentals. Despite the great team repairing skates there are often small issues with each pair. I highly recommend buying a personal pair of skates from SC though. Prices are the same as online and their selection is unmatched in Delaware. This rink is further out of the way for me, but I have preferred coming here to Christiana in the past few years. The rules here are less strict and balance the ability to have fun with keeping everyone safe (better than Christiana which is more restrictive).
