One time i did finally get a positive for a rare autoimmune disease in 2024 but that dr quit after i got the results & was so mean that i literally have such bad medical anxiety from rheums specifically. even tho i had the answer i couldnt try again & be treated like that. Well fast forward to becoming bedbound soon after that, & my health severely declining in multiple ways, I was hospitalized this year unrelated to the autoimmune. every dr this year & the hospital was disturbed i havent been treated for it. I had actually seen a recommendation this year for Scott Harris, & after checking the website i saw my rare disease was on the list, first time ever! (unfortunately ive seen that recently the website was redone and its now taken off the list which saddens me.) After the hospital with diff meds that helped me make it to dr appts again, I was able to go to an appt here. (i tried months earlier but was too sick.) I had such a high heart rate as Rheums make me nervous. Dr Harris is the first doctor to actually treat me kindly, understood me, asked questions, didnt rush, knew my rare autoimmune, and had a plan. I left very very happy for the first time ever after a rheumatologist appt, instead of sobbing the whole way home. I really appreciate his whole demeanor and kindness and knowledge. He understood. However, when I arrived, I was seen by a nurse practitioner instead. I never met or spoke with Dr. Arlene Rillo at that time, and for the next year and a half, all of my care was handled by the nurse practitioner. Throughout that period, I frequently had to follow up regarding medications, referrals, and other healthcare needs. Communication with the office was consistently difficult. Calls often went directly to voicemail, and it regularly took several days to receive a return call--if one came at all. On one occasion, after nearly a week of trying to reach the office by phone, I had to go there in person just to address an issue. Even then, I was given assurances that were never followed through on. Recently, I scheduled an appointment for a medication review and a new referral, which was the first time I actually met Dr. Arlene Rillo. Unfortunately, the interaction was very disappointing. I found her communication style to be dismissive and confrontational. Whenever I attempted to explain information or recommendations I had received from other physicians, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could finish speaking. I did not feel heard, respected, or included in the discussion about my own healthcare. My overall experience with this practice has been frustrating. Between the ongoing communication issues, difficulty obtaining timely follow-up, and my interaction with Dr. Arlene Rillo I did not feel that I received the level of care or professionalism I expected. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering other providers if you value responsive communication, respectful interactions, and collaborative patient care.

Dr. Rupesh Parikh took care of my mom during her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, and I am so…read moregrateful for him. He is incredibly professional, calm, patient, and kind. During such a scary time for our family, he always made sure we understood everything and never made us feel rushed, even though the cancer center is very busy. Even now that my mom is in remission, he still takes the time to answer questions and truly cares about his patients. His PA Jan was also wonderful and very supportive throughout everything. We are very thankful for their care.

Medical Assistant Abigail, was very friendly and down to earth, she gave me an EKG with no problems and she set me up to see APRN Maniago. DPN/APRN Vernon Maniago was very knowledgeable, he asked appropriate questions, he listened to my answers and my concerns. He was also calming and most importantly, he did not rush me through my appointment. DPN/APRN Maniago, on the same day, set me up with a chest x-ray, which was done right there at the SDMI on the bottom floor. He also sent in a requisition for a blood draw. The next morning, DPN/APRN Maniago, called me personally and informed me of the results of the chest x-ray, which now needed a follow up with a CT scan, he was able to send a requisition to the SDMI and I made the appointment. DPN/APRN Maniago and the staff did an awesome job and I would highly recommend them.
