I've been buying guitars for 40 years and I've spent quite a bit of money on high-end guitars. My first experience with Detroit Guitar was this past July and I have never had a company jump through so many hoops to please me. Charlie Lorenzi is probably one of the best salesmen I have ever met. He listened to my needs, made a few suggestions, and helped me get what I've been saving up for. Upon getting the guitar, something was amiss and I contacted Charlie. I was impressed with the extent he went to to correct the issue. He actually contacted the manufacturer of the guitar I purchased and worked it out so that the guitar pickups were replaced to my needs. It's rare that you find a company that understands a guitar player's needs and wants to help you be happy as a professional musician. I had no doubt that he would stand by me until I was happy. Like I said, don't hesitate to buy a guitar from Detroit Guitars. They're a good company, old-fashioned customer service. Just a great, fun company to buy a guitar from.

However, not many used guitars... at least, I didn't see any. Nor were there a variety of instruments at lower price points. Further, the space was pretty sterile and didn't feel homie (for lack of a better word). To be clear, the one employee I spoke with was very friendly; the space itself felt sterile. It's essentially a guitar shop for lawyers and dentists. Not my jam.

And the Detroit flute players are blessed with having such a large flute specialty store so close. Fluteworld is hidden in a building on Orchard Lake Road north of 13 mile across from the Taco Bell. If you didn't know to look for it, you would miss it. Despite it's non-descript interior it has shelves and shelves of sheet music, CDs, accessories and flutes. There are a large range of all kinds of flutes from several differnet brands from hundreds of dollars to ten thousand dollars. There are many interesting and knowledgeable professionals who work there. They are always available to ask questions and help in any way they can. It's clear that they love the flute and music and they know their stuff. Everytime I call I ask for Jeffrey. He's always helpful and funny and he really knows what he's talking about. If you need a flute, music or accessories or know someone who does, hurry on down to Fluteworld.

I was told there would be no charge for shipping and the music would be sent to me in a short time. That was August 12, 2022. It is now November 7, 2022, and not only has the music not shown up, but after three phone messages and three emails (which is the ONLY way to reach these people), I have had no response what so ever. My recommendation to future customers is, stay as far away from this establishment as possible. Since I cannot submit my review without a star rating, one star appears; pay no attention to this, the proper number is less than zero, for obvious reasons.

It is our desire for students to enjoy music to the fullest and want to share their gift with others. Many younger students are often pressured to learn music because it is good for them.  However, when someone is heavily pressured into something, reactance often follows especially in children.  My philosophy is to have the students develop a desire and passion for music for themselves.  Often it starts with piano but will expand to other areas of interest.  Students have shown an increase in interest and motivation in schoolwork, extracurricular activities and a desire to bett
