Before getting married, I never realized just how integral a photographer is to the wedding day or how much time you'll actually spend with them. Of course, they play an essential role in documenting your wedding, but in many cases you will spend more time with your photographers than with many of your own guests. Thankfully, spending the day with Christie and Matt felt like spending it with family. Their aloha was infectious and, honestly, exactly what we needed throughout our 10+ hour wedding day. I also have to mention how incredibly well they worked with our other vendors. The synergy among everyone was obvious, and we were fortunate to be the beneficiaries of it. I definitely recommend anyone to hire Christie to photograph for their wedding. I first met Christie at a friend's wedding and got to see how she worked. After seeing how calm and organized she was at directing the couple for first look photos and more photos after they got married, I knew I had to have her photograph my wedding. Christie was very responsive for emails and it was very easy to communicate with her prior to the wedding day. Wedding: 10/4/18 Destination wedding venue: Haiku Gardens, Kaneohe I had found Christie while looking for cake inspiration pictures on Pinterest. A cake picture I came across led me to a site and listed her as the photographer for the wedding. That was kind of it for me. Everything about her and her husband's photography and editing style I instantly loved. It was exactly what I wanted, without knowing that's what I was looking for. I (we) got extremely lucky that she was available 4 weeks away from our wedding date. I had sifted through other potential vendors from time to time, but none of them really stuck out to me. Now that I was a month away I had started to panic a little bit. I actually wasn't going to have photography or videography and was repeatedly told how much we would regret it if we didn't professionally document our wedding. I didn't even have to mention anything to her, but when I got our highlights and saw some of the photos, it's like she read my mind (I guess that's expected, being the true professional that she is). We picked our venue because of the raw, large beauty the gardens had to offer. The vegetation is enormous, but despite it's size it still gives off a sense of peacefulness and calm. It is a small space that reminds you that we are guests on this beautiful planet. I don't know how she did it, but she managed to capture this exact feeling and more in our photos. All women (and men) go through that phase when it seems like everyone around them - childhood, high school, college friends - are getting married! That's where I was about three years ago. Helping girlfriends with their wedding plans is how I found Christie Pham Photography. I web-browsed from one photographer's blog to the next until I stumbled on Christie's site. That was it. I hate taking pictures, even though I am a very photogenic guy with a great smile. The whole thing about posing and the art of the perfect place makes me sick. Hiring Christie and her husband Matt as our photographers for our big day was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Since we were planning our small outdoor wedding at Oahu's Kualoa Ranch remotely from California, we searched online for local photographers with familiarity with our venue that exhibited skills in capturing both the wedding and the beautiful surroundings. We also knew we weren't going to hire a videographer, so we wanted a photographer with a journalistic style that would not miss all the special moments of the day. After reviewing Christie's portfolio online and speaking with her over Skype, it was very clear to us that she encompassed all of these qualities. On the day, Christie and Matt made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and guided us through the shots with ease. These guys are pros and it's not hard to see why. Her knowledge of the venue was a real asset since she was able to get photos of us in many different locations throughout the venue, including one "secret" spot that was the backdrop of our favorite photos from the day. Christie, only a few days after the wedding, sent us over 100 photos highlighting different parts of the day. This allowed us to share these photos immediately with family and friends and we were all blown away with how amazing the photos were. We honestly would have been happy with just the "highlight" photos, but we were so thrilled to receive the full set of photos that included even more incredible shots only two months after the wedding. I cannot say enough amazing things about Christie and her Husband. She is the sweetest person on earth, and on top of that she is CRAZY talented. You will not regret using her. If you are looking for beautiful, contemporary, and original wedding photos, Christie is your girl. Her photos are unbelievable, she is professional, accommodating, and so much more. When my husband and I began planning our wedding, my first priority was to hire a good wedding photographer. I had seen Christie Pham's photos from a friend's wedding and through her website, and I fell in love with her photojournalist style and with her ability to capture even the small, fleeting moments (which often become the most cherished memories). I met with Christie and instantly felt comfortable with her, as if we were old friends catching up and excitedly planning my wedding. To me, this is an important quality in a photographer, who is there to capture the most important moments of your wedding. Being able to openly communicate is key. This was also an important quality for my husband, who felt uneasy about being photographed. She knew exactly how to get amazing shots while making us feel at ease--my husband ended up having a blast since taking pictures with Christie and Matt felt like we were all hanging out with good friends. Christie Pham is an amazing photographer. We used Christie for our wedding in Oahu and the pictures could not have turned out more beautiful. It was also a pleasure working with both her and her husband Matt. She and Matt have a wonderful and personal approach to wedding pictures. Christie photographed Erlyn getting ready and Matt photographed me getting ready with my brother / best man which was a really easy going experience. They then proceeded to photograph our families, first look, ceremony and reception. Within 24 hours, they already had pictures for us to share. I had the pleasure of having Christie Pham as my wedding photographer for my March 28, 2009 wedding. I feel so lucky to have been able to book her. All I can tell other potential brides out there is SHE IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!! Pictures are so very important and after searching, interviewing, and looking at pictures of other photographers - their was no comparison. Christie went ABOVE AND BEYOND all of my expectations, and I consider myself a very hard grader. She was so friendly, kind, generous, artistic, and most importantly PROFESSIONAL. Christie and Matt are amazing photographers, and special people as well. We hired them for our wedding at the Moana Surfrider in March 2017, and then found out they would be travelling through London (where we live) a few months before. We met up in London and spent some time together, and then got to do an engagement shoot ahead of the wedding! My husband was quite nervous for the whole "photo shoot" aspect of the wedding, and Christie and Matt made him feel so comfortable - they are an incredible couple. At our wedding, in Oahu I really didn't want anything too staged - I felt nervous about having to "perform" and not be in the moment. Christie listened to everything I wanted, and she was always quietly in the corner, snapping amazing pics. We just received our pictures back, and there were moments I didn't even know she was there for! Her and Matt just kind of slid into the background and captured the emotion of everything, as if they were guests at the wedding. They really got all of the joy, emotion, excitement, nerves, all of it - in a simple candid shot. At our wedding, during the scheduled bride/groom pictures we had a lot of rain. In addition, I became quite emotionally overwhelmed with the fact that I'd just gotten married - and I had to shorten the photography portion, just to have some time with my new husband. Christie and Matt slipped into the background, and when I turned around they had left us with drinks! I found out later she had taken some beautiful, candid pictures of us from a distance. At one point Christie started fanning me when I was too hot, and even shielded me from the rain! They will feel like part of your guests, and you'll be sorry to say goodbye!
