I am from South Dakota and my family and I are needing to come to the upper east side of NYC for surgeries every 3 weeks for 3 months time. I have searched for the last month trying to find the perfect location and price. Apartment searching in Manhattan on a budget is extremely overwhelming! I have gotten depressed thinking I wouldn't find a place on time, as we are leaving in just one short week. Best broker experience EVER, I wish I could leave hundreds of stars! I started working Hannah (THE best) a few years ago when I needed to find a place for a summer job in the city. I rented from out of state (which could be a nightmare for some), but Hannah made the process so incredibly smooth, I literally had no issues. She took the time to really understand what I was looking for, not impose her will on me as the client (as so many brokers do with their own interests in mind). She also really respected my financial requirements. That summer was the smoothest experience I've ever had finding housing (and she helped me rent furniture for the summer as well). Hannah actually kept in touch with me throughout the years (I've always been super impressed by her client care), and when the time came to move to the city this past year, I looked no further. When Hannah couldn't personally meet with me during the few random days I came to town, she set me up with another agent in her group (Sharon) who is equally as wonderful! I really cannot recommend these guys enough. I can't really attest to Christie property group in general except to say they were smart to hire Joy as one of their brokers so the rest of this review pertains to my experience with her...Joy was awesome--definitely the best broker I've ever dealt with thus far, which includes a long list of brokers most of which were nightmares. She's really friendly, which put me at ease, but more important is the fact that she sticks up for the renter (rather than the owner, manager, building, etc). I contacted Joy while searching for a studio in Brooklyn. From that moment forward I felt like I had someone on my side. Joy was my advocate at each and every step during the process and was totally focused on finding the best possible home for me within my price range. She asked all the right questions, made helpful suggestions, and never ever pressured me in any way. Prior to her I'd wasted so much time dealing with other sketchy brokers that by the time I found her I literally had days before I had to move but that was no issue because the 1st place she showed me was the place I wanted and got. This review is credited towards Joyell Ellow, and is well overdue. Waited 6 months to settle in to build credit; So I could explain how amazing Joyell is. My BF and I were out of state finishing college before we moved for a job opportunity in NYC. We were too busy to visit, and did not have time for apartment scam ads. Joyell is a God send, and did beyond amazing. Responded to our email fast, followed up the property, then found a completely different apartment for us since we did not like the ad we saw. Being out of state she went to our apartment viewing, videotaped the apartment, took pictures, contacted the landlord, figured out paperwork, fees, move in dates etc all within 1 week of emailing her! In one week we found the perfect place for us in Astoria,that was 1 year old luxury apartment. After 6 months living here I will still say that the apartment that Joyell found for us is better than any of the apartments my friends have living in Manhattan. I used Christie Property Group in my New York apartment search. I was moving from Chicago to New York and was looking for a place to rent. I had a short amount of time and a set budget. They were very professional and incredibly responsive to my communication. I was easily able to get in touch with Sean Christie who is the principal broker. He put me in touch with Brandon, another broker on the team who followed up and arranged a meeting. We discussed my exact criteria, price range, what my preferences were, etc. Brandon had several places lined up for me to see the first day, showing me a nice range, places that were exactly in my price range, places that were below my range, and also those that were nicer, but higher priced - gave me a great view of the market situation. Never felt rushed or pressured. We ultimately put a bid in at a place I liked - incredibly deal - one month free rent and broker's fee paid. Brandon actually negotiated the monthly rent amount lower than what the building had initially said, so I was able to get an awesome apartment in the location I wanted for a great price. After having a few nightmarish experiences with RE brokers in NYC, I reluctantly used a broker for my most recent purchase. I have nothing but great things to say about Sean Christie and his professional team of brokers. They are my go to guys from here on out. I reached to Sean looking for a 1.5 bed in LIC NY for a FEB 1 move in date. We viewed a few luxury no fee buildings and I was going to apply for one of the units and then Sean mentioned for the rent I was going to pay is similar to a mortgage with 15-20% down and maybe purchasing should be explored. We viewed 5 listing in one showing and I fell in love with one of the units. We submitted an offer asap. After a few back and forth we received an accepted offer that I was pretty happy with. Complete opposite of the previous review. Very professional. The broker went above and beyond what my roommate and I asked for and also within twelve hours of meeting with her. The broker knew exactly what we were looking for and even said that the second apartment we would see would be our apartment (and she was right!). I met a few of the other brokers while filling out paperwork and they were all friendly, personable, and professional. The broker I used was Colleen Koltrick. I highly recommend her as the person you use. She was responsive, friendly, and was brutally honest (which I thought was a very important trait when it came to a broker). She did not lie about any part of the process to us, like the many I've used in the past. Colleen truly knew what she was doing and I have recommended her to a few of my friends and will keep doing so in the future. I have no complaints whatsoever. with Colleen or the brokerage firm. This was a smooth and easy process for my roommate and I. If I were to do this again, I'd use Colleen or the Christie Property Group without a doubt. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Christie Property Group and specifically Rafael Erazo. Rafael went above and beyond to help my fiancée and me in our search for a new apartment. He worked with us for over two weeks, meeting with us both together and individually to show listings that took our specific needs (price, location, pet-friendly) into account. He remained extremely professional, reliable, friendly, and helpful the entire time even though it was proving to be difficult for us to find exactly what we were looking for. Eventually we ended up getting a place on our own (owner-posted ad on Craigslist). When I informed Rafael he could not have been happier for us. He was genuinely thrilled that we found what we were looking for like a friend would be, and not at all annoyed as if his time had been wasted and his efforts were for nothing. I worked with Hardeep on an apartment I recently leased. I spent hours and hours looking up buildings and he still managed to find a good building for me I had never come across in my research. He was able to find a dog-friendly, new, luxury, no fee unit in my price range. I was pretty annoying to work with as I was not sure the area or price I could afford but he was patient and showed me apartments in different parts of the city with new builds and didn't press me towards any I wasn't crazy about. My nice new apartment has a doorman, whirlpool, sauna, state-of-the-art gym, heated tile, purified water in every faucet, and a soaking tub for the same other buildings wanted to charge me for way less nice amenities. I couldn't be happier with the fit and have him to thank. The only advice I have would be to google the apartments you are interested in for things like reviews as Hardeep (and other brokers) are not allowed to tell you things that may dissuade you from a building. My fiance and I needed a place to rent movin on up out of our little hovel. We originally called Ian off a craigslist ad, but ended up being helped by Hardeep Uppal. We found him to be well connected to all the luxury buildings and knowledgeable about who to talk to, what's available (the good deals come and go REALLY quick!). He ended up putting us in a really nice building and getting a special deal so we didn't have to pay his broker fee (which wouldn't have been available three days later). He also called us back within minutes even when we called off-hours. We were so frustrated with all the fake ads on craigslist from brokers and he would look at one we'd e-mail him and tell us which pictures were from what buildings and who was lying about prices and availability to get clients in the door (hint:everybody). Sean and his team are awesome! Me and my family were attempting to move from Westchester county to Riverdale NY. After getting an accepted offer and signed contracts we started our rental search.... Fingers crossed.. We were ready for a hefty price increase vs our old mortgage and taxes, as our family needed a 3 bed. I relocated from LA and got a great apartment in Midtown west/hells kitchen area. I found Sharon's ad on Craigslist and sent her an email. Within 10 minutes I had received an email from Sharon Sauli filled with units in the areas I requested. I flew in for 3 days to find a unit, and from a sceptic I was proved wrong. Sharon had 2 days worth of apts for us to preview. I wound up finding my apt on the second day of showings. Sharon really acted as a concierege service the way she connected me with the leasing dept, moving company and great places to visit while living in the city. I was seeking a studio or one-bedroom with a minimum of 650 square feet, an elevator and a garage in the building, that was also wheelchair accessible and pet friendly, and no more than $2600 a month. I recently moved to Manhattan due t o a job offer. Before I moved I read all these articles about cheap rent in the city now. Unfortunately these articles give shoppers bad info. I tried looking at apartments by myself and finally saw an ad on Craigs from this company offering a studio . What I liked was that I was able to look at everything in my price range all in a matter of hours. That would have taken forever by myself. I found a cool studio on Water street steps from the train.
