This store has so much candy! Lots of retro candy, plenty of foreign candy (multiple flavors of Kit Kats including flavors of chunky kit kats, hi chews and some other Asian candies (a bunch of options, but I can get all of them in Chicago's chinatown so I didn't pay attention), Aero bars, Terry's oranges, and other British candy. There were so many retro candy options, plus every kind of candy you've ever heard of. (I eat too much candy, and know a lot of types of candy and I was blown away by the options). They also had lots of types of pop, but I didn't pay much attention to them. I wanted my sugar in chocolate form. I am a chocoholic, and I was very happy to find this place. I got some creams from the case (dark chocolate raspberry cream, orange cream, strawberry cream, vanilla cream). They were delicious. These are better than my former favorite Fannie May (which sadly isn't as good as it used to be). I also got some chocolates in the bulk chocolate section. The chocolate covered cherries are amazing as is the chocolate covered orange peel (though jellier than I was expecting inside). The chocolate covered pecans are fine (but I don't usually get these so maybe chocolate covered pecans aren't my thing). The store is cute! It had a Lego Willy Wonka set! There was a time that title belonged to Boyd's, but Boyd's has been slipping for a while now. Walk in here and you'll find every kind of candy that you could want. The candy selection is flat-out unparalleled. Bun bars, Necco wafers, saucers, Zero bars, salt water taffy, the cheap-but-still-damn-good Willy Wonka stuff - you name it. If I ever saw it in a candy store as a kid, it's sitting on a shelf in this place. They've got the "finer" items, too: solid milk chocolate, actual truffles, bonbons, the works. Sugar free stuff? Yeah, that too. And the retro/craft pop ("soda," for those of you who never learned the proper word) is outstanding. We actually didn't go for candy, we were going to use the front of porch for family photos. Pat, the owner has a beautifully decorated porch and I couldn't think of a better place than in front of the beautifully lit snowman for our pictures. When we arrived it was still open. Not only did she not mind, but she invited us inside for photos by the fire. Gorgeous! You don't get service like this these days. So of course we HAD to buy some retro candy as well as some delicious chocolate made by a family Pat specifically orders from. I was able to get some stocking stuffers, orange slices for my grandfather, a treat for my friends son, my daughter, and myself as well all for under 15$. Even if you're not local to Sylvania it's definitely worth the drive for the service and the sugar.

This includes hard-to-find items such as vintage candies and sodas. On our visit, we found Mallo Cups, one of my childhood favorites that are not that easy to get anymore. The bag-your-own aisle allows you to mix and match things like soft caramels, taffy and atomic fireballs. There are probably close to 100 bins from which to choose. There's a fudge rack, a candy counter with gourmet chocolates, etc. and a drink fridge that contains interesting options like Chocolate Soda. We were in just before Valentines Day and, of course, they have some special options for the occasion that your special someone would appreciate. I think this review cannot be summed up any better than what I overheard said by the youngest in a family of four walking through the store when I was there. She was probably five years old or so. While they were looking around the store, I overheard her say in an exhilarated voice "this is heaven to me". The inner child in me was in agreement.
