She scheduled blood tests and said she would call me with the results. I received blood test results via internet and noted multiple liver, kidney and glucose results were OUT OF THE NORMAL RANGE. Plus all FOUR of the abnormal blood results MATCHED MY CONCERNING SYMPTOMS. I waited a day then called the office and asked to speak to the PA however, the PA was busy. 30 mins later some unknown person called me and told me the PA said there was no problem. All the doctors on staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and go to great lengths to make sure their patients are comfortable, informed, and well cared-for. While I've also seen the other doctors in the practice once or twice, my PCP is Dr. Melrose, and he's delightful. An affable guy without any of the arrogance that you often see in other doctors, Dr. Melrose -- and his angel of an assistant Charlene -- both take wonderful care of their patients. He never makes you feel like you're taking up valuable time, and is perfectly happy to spend as much time as needed with each patient. The front-office staff is very friendly and welcoming as well, and the clinic itself is clean, brightly-lit, and quite nice. Best of all, I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment, and 95% of the time, I'm seen within five minutes of walking through the door. My only regret is that I didn't switch to GVFM sooner. So long as I live in this area, I'll never, ever go to another practice. LOVE these guys!

As a healthy individual who prefers the convenience of telehealth visits or calling in prescriptions, I was shocked by how rigid, dismissive & business oriented they've become. They outright refused to accommodate my request for a simple tele-visit or prescription refill, instead they wanted to force me to come into the office for the same conversation and medication I've been taking for years. It felt like they cared more about billing for an in-person visit than respecting my time or needs. This level of inflexibility and disregard for patient convenience is unacceptable, especially after decades of loyalty. The whole experience was frustrating and unnecessary, and it has made me seriously question whether this office still values its patients. It's incredibly disappointing to see this kind of treatment after so many years, and I will be reconsidering my options moving forward.

After a fairly long visit with an exam and lots of questions about my history, medications I was using, etc, Dr. Yao proposed a homeopathic remedy. I was skeptical at first but now I have less pain than before (something my neurologist told me was impossible) and I do not have to use prescription opioid pain killers any longer. I was also able to stop using several other expensive prescriptions with unpleasant side effects. If you suffer from chronic pain, I would strongly recommend Dr. Yao.

No pain medication that was prescribed from my PCP for six years. I've had I had 7 infections and ablations prior to my visit. They don't work anymore. My last injections were over a 6 month period. I dong understand how people with stubbed toes and get prescriptions. I do not recommend waiting your time here. I've now been off of pain medication for 8 months. I used Excedrin, Aleve, Tylenol etc. ice packs and heat packs.

Horrible service. It took eight phone calls over 5.25 hours between Penn Orthopedics and the MRI…read moreprovider, which is part of their system but not integrated, to schedule an MRI. By the time they stopped playing around, the next available appointment was an additional six days out from what was available at my first call. That was better than the other Penn Medicine MRI providers, which were six weeks out. There are a limited number of MRI providers in the area. This one is related to them, yet their schedulers don't have basic information about it - including the fax number. How does that make sense? And when they had all that information, it took them hours to fax it. I had to keep calling to check on it, and tell the MRI provider finally called them, which was the ninth phone call to schedule one MRI. After scheduling the MRI, I called to schedule the follow up. That was pushed out to the earliest being a week I'm away, and they wouldn't let me see any other doctor. The doctor I saw did absolutely nothing but order an MRI, there's no reason I need to see him again, but apparently that's their policy. Because patients absolutely do not come first at Penn Medicine.

Then she told me I had to reschedule because I was 15 minutes late and the earliest I could be seen was a month away (!). Another time, I called to speak to a nurse at 10am and left a message. I didn't get a call back for over four hours (!). After she spoke to the doctor about my symptoms, she said an antibiotic could not be prescribed without me being seen (although this has been done in the past for this same ailment) and that I was welcome to visit the emergency room. I was offered an appointment the next day, but I could have been prescribed something in advance to hold me over. I've been a patient there at least 10 years. I don't think the doctors know their patients very well anymore or maybe they are overwhelmed and can't keep track of them.
