I have very curly, dry hair that tends knotty easily. I was going through some health issues and my knots became worse. When I went to the salon, I asked Christine if she could just cut off the knots and cut my hair short. Instead she made a big scene complaining about my knots in front of the whole salon. She had the staff try to brush through the knots which really hurt. And she left my hair long. I don't understand. She has scissors. Why not just use them when needed? read more

Christine is hands down THE BEST person to ever have touched my hair. I just showed her a photo of what I would've liked, and she did that and more. My hair color looks better than I could've imagined and that's coming from really dark asian hair! The salon is also gorgeously decorated and SO CLEAN it made me feel really safe. Everyone on staff was very professional and made me feel comfortable going there even during these crazy times (wearing masks, social distancing, washing hands, and disinfecting regularly). I moved out of Brooklyn recently and won a haircut in raffle from my community garden for this spot. I have to admit that I was hesitant to get my hair cut outside of the city. I've lived there for 13 years and thought I would always truck myself in to get a decent cut. I was wrong. This place is amazing. The owner is incredibly talented, joyful and professional. Too bad I'm limited to 5 stars; I'd give this salon 10 if I could! I've been going to Christine for nearly 10 years and just love the way she cuts my hair. It's not overly thick, but it terribly straight, and she works miracles with it. And this is coming from someone who is really, really picky! I get so many really nice compliments on it. Christine always insists the salon isn't hers, but rather it belongs to her clients. It's so nice and cozy and reminds me of salons of the past, where folks would go to catch up with each other and find out what's new. It's got that community feeling. And speaking of community, Christine and her staff make it a point to support the community in which they work. They think it's important. Twelve Acts of Kindness, working with local agencies for underprivileged children, they go out of their way to support Nyack. And being a resident of Nyack, that's really welcome news to me. Im in a state of shock as I write this - I called to see if they did a non ammonia non peroxide color glaze and they said yes - got there to see Sarah and asked again about no ammonia only she assured me - again I stated I only want non ammonia non peroxide color glaze - she assured me again - she went to mix color and began to apply it when I got smacked in the face with the smell of ammonia and my scalp started to burn - I said I smell ammonia this has ammonia - SHE SAID NO THERE IS NO AMMONIA - Said um yes there is this has ammonia and she said yes a tiny bit - I was so furious and upset had her wash it out immediately - the owner was there and I asked to speak to both of them together - told the owner this woman lied to my face and applied a harmful product Im allergic too. The owner said sorry and Sarah said yes I lied and Im sorry. WTF?! read more

On June 12 th I had a keratin treatment done by Christine, it is the best thing ever. I have thick, coarse hair and it takes forever to dry and straighten it. Now I can let it air dry or blow it dry and it is straight and smooth. The new salon is beautiful and the staff are very nice. Love this place, check it out. read more

I wish I can give more than 5 stars! My absolute favorite place to get my haircut. I refuse to go anywhere else! She took my 14+ inch hair and cut it down to a bob.. and then eventually down to an undercut. I only trusted her with that and she did even better than I could of imagined! One of the best parts about the haircut is that even weeks later it grows into something that is just as good as the initial haircut. Every stage looks good. The reviews were uniformly positive, but I really didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you that I have had my hair colored in some rather prominent salons: nothing matches Christine's handiwork. The color she applied is not only vibrant and beautiful, but it suits my face perfectly. And the salon's staff is lovely; there are no hard sells here, just kind people wholly invested in enhancing your appearance and giving you a reason to feel good about yourself. This salon is amazing! Christine is the BEST there is! I'm a blond, and chose this salon based on reviews from other blonds, since getting the color right is not easy! I'm also in need of good gray coverage, which is also not easy! I've been at this salon for several months now, as I've been working in the New York area. I now have to return to the West Coast for my work, and I am so BUMMED that I will not be able to find a colorist this good there. She uses products from Italy that are the best that have ever been used on my hair. And they aren't available on the West Coast! I'm so bummed out! The product line she uses is so gentle, and produces the best results that I have ever seen. In addition, this salon is the most comfortable and enjoyable "salon experience" I have ever had. They wait on you hand and foot in there, and it is small enough to be personable to every single one of their customers that comes in.
