You know what is wonderful about Alfonso and Stella Luna? Every time I go, I leave feeling absolutely great. I have always dreaded hair appointments, but now I look forward to them. Alfonso is an artist and so he applies that to his craft as a hair designer. I've had so many people comment on my hair, cut and color. I'm able to go in and ask for any crazy thing and Alfonso will interpret it into something that makes me feel and look fabulous. And if it's not perfect for what I'm feeling then I'll go back and he'll happily work with me to make it perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience! Called one day after spontaneously deciding to get a cut here based upon Yelp reviews, and was welcomed with open arms. LITERALLY, open arms! The staff went above & beyond to treat me like family, even as a first time customer. Alfonso quickly worked his charm and magic on me and my grown out, unstyled pixie cut, and once I left, I knew I would never have to search for another salon again! My hair LOOKED beautiful, and I FELT beautiful! The salon is as warm and cozy as the staff that occupies it. Hopefully will return this weekend for a much needed cut! read more

Grace is wonderful! She perms me a couple of times a year (I have thin blonde hair that everyone just assumes has bodacious natural curls, all because of her.) And lately she's been helping me care for my 95-year-old mother, who she makes look like a movie star every single time. Plus: a pretty, friendly salon near good parking in Nyack. His energy, talent, style, creativity and just plain fabulousness can't be matched :) And the salon itself is sunny, pretty and full of wonderful energy and warmth. Great hair salon for men and women in Nyack. Nice music and atmosphere. Ask for Grace and you'll be happy with the results! If you go early, there are coffee and snacks too. I just got the best cut and color ever! I love my new look! I had the most wonderful experience at Stella Luna. Alfonso not only knows what he's doing but he took the time to explain the color process to me. I left there with dimensions of color like never before. This is a beautiful, clean and tasteful salon with such a warm and welcoming staff. Grace is a wonderful hairdresser who listens to her clients needs and makes wonderful suggestions to help her clients achieve their style! All of the products that are used are excellent and top notch. A lot of natural and organic products that nourish your hair. She colored my hair with the products and my hair never felt healthier. My girlfriend and I had a wedding to go to yesterday and she needed a place to get her hair done. She had heard about this place from a coworker and heard nothing but good things about it, so naturally she decided to give it a shot. Her hair came out nothing as to what she asked for! She even brought in a picture as a reference and it looks nothing like it! She asked for long layers and it looks as though the woman just took a pair of scissors and just chopped in random places and all different lengths, making it very blocky and noticeable, not blended in at all which is what a "professional" would have done, which is what this person is supposed to be. The woman did not listen to anything my girlfriend asked her to do and decided to do what she wanted instead. It appears to be that she tried to cover up a bad haircut with a blowout. Oh, and the woman that did the haircut?....THE OWNER, Grace! My girlfriend is too nice to say something about it, but I don't have a problem voicing a complaint when you don't get what you paid for. We do NOT recommend going to this salon AT ALL. Save your time, money, and most importantly your hair! Thanks for making my girlfriend hate her hair. read more

I am not one to get many hair cuts a year, in fact prior to the first time Christine cut my hair I was going maybe once or twice a year. Christine cut my hair and the compliments just kept on coming!! I have had long to shoulder length hair for some years now. Christine gave me a fresh, adorable, wonderful cut that made me feel amazing. Some say she took years off me!! I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror!! LOL! Every single time I ran into someone the first words they said were "You cut your hair! You look great!" I had my hair cut and styled by Grace and I am very pleased with the results. The salon is very clean and pretty; it has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and does not give off a "snooty" vibe like some salons.
