Normally I'd be done with this place. I stayed here from late January 2021- June 2021. I had spent over $16K here in 4 months. And for what? Crappy care and sub par food that you can buy at the Dollar Tree or 99 Cents only stores. In fact there were plenty of times they ran out of eggs, and we ate Lego waffles or watered down oatmeal. What really burnt me up though is the owner here decided to text message my phone calling me a "grumpy bastard." (Isn't that right Barry Sarson) I originally deleted the message because i knew it was them, but I didn't have the proof. Thank to a good reverse call locator I have the proof now, and I;m sharing it with the rest of the world. So don't bother calling me again, or I'll have Hemet PD pay you a visit. I'm also posting pictures of the dirt left on the ceiling fans, and dishes left in the sink by the 2nd shift crew. and a couple of meal pictures that I was served. Mark my word, when the cooks were allowed to cook something it was pretty good. ( Like this Cheese Enchilada Unfortunately, those occasions were far and few between. I've read they changed their name to The Legacy now, but that doesn't mean they've cleaned up their act. I'd rather die in my own home than stay in place like this again or Kaiser Permanente. I am extremely disappointed with the level of care provided at Christmas cottage also known as the legacy of Hemet . It is unacceptable that patients are left wet for extended periods, showing a clear lack of attention and respect for their well-being. This neglect not only causes discomfort but also poses serious health risks. Families trust caregiving facilities to provide a safe and dignified environment for their loved ones, and this facility has failed to meet even the most basic standards of care. I hope management takes immediate action to address these issues and improve the quality of care. They also always have staff being rude and talking to patients rudely or always on the phone with their family or friends. The management team is very disrespectful and treats the caregiving staff rudely they need new office people and new caregivers all the way around. read more

This business is a residential care for elderly the Administrators name is Kaye Hyland. She drinks alcohol (gin &tonic) on the premises while working with elderly clients. She has been witnessed on 9/25/2025 pushing (Carol) one of the clients to the couch and then kicking her leg causing a bruise days later. Please do not take elderly loved ones to this facility for long term housing. read more

The nurse manager who works in the office on Saturday's is very unprofessional and rude. She needs retrained or replaced. I have visited a resident there a few times with my friend. Several times we visited during the week and did not have this experience. Staff was happy and awesome during the week. I wish I got her name but she was a brunette Caucasian woman about mid 30's to early 40's. My friend asked staff about the resident who we were visitings pet because it was the 2nd time there and we didn't see the pet. This nurse person came running out of her office (literally) and was so rude to my friend after she asked the question! In a very condescending manner repeating herself (About 5 times without a break) on how that's a HIPPA violation and it was not to be answered! This is where she needs the retraining! A pet is not a MEDICAL information breach...it's property, therefore no rights or laws would have been violated if staff were allowed to answer. My friend could not get a word in edgewise and I was shocked at how a person in what appeared to be an administration position was so unprofessional and insensitive to my friend who was simply there to visit a loved one. It's not easy to visit a loved one in an assisted living situation as it is due to their physical and or mental decline due to age. I have been in the medical field for 30 years and the heartless unprofessional interaction towards my friend and I was shocking! Instead of her repeating OVER AND OVER we cannot answer questions about the patient because of HIPPA , As a so called Nurse Manager ( I'm guessing that's what she was) she should have allowed my friend to reply to her and then explain HIPPA RULES politely. They should even have a printout on premises of HIPPA law that "nurse" could have handed out to us and to herself for that matter! This is where she needs her training HIPPA and general communication skills. She flustered my friend so much and not to mention the look on the staffs faces look like they were in shock and fear. I'll bet the nurse is a bully to staff as well to visitors. Today we went to visit my friends loved one. We went into the same building we always did only to find out it was under renovation (much needed) a worker said patients were next door. As we left to go to the other building my friend mentioned to me remember that rude nurse the time we were here and all of a sudden there she was again, Nurse Rachette, saying I'm sorry if you felt I was rude the last time you saw me, in a condescending tone as she showed us the the door to enter the side building and rambling we need to sign in which there was no pen...they never had a pen when ever I went with my friend when the sign in sheet was outside the door so we didn't sign in in the past. My friends anxiety started to spark when she heard the nurses tone and started telling her how rude she was before and being rude now. In the back and forth my friend was so flustered again she looked down and said I can't sign in there's no pen! The nurse handed her her pen and my friend grabbed in out of her hand. None of this nonsense needed to escalate had she truly showed an apology from the past visit and didn't treat us like an inconvenience to her day. Another thing I observed was the staff looked very stressed, definitely not the norm. If you have a good manager the staff shouldn't be stressed. Those CNA's run their butt off and I do have nothing but respect for them. Like I said I worked in the medical field a30 years in an ASC. Patients and their family always came first otherwise they would choose another practice to go to. It's all business. It looks like The Christmas Cottages is finally renovating their facility...maybe new owners.... If so I hope they have a better training and protocol for their office staff. I read more

They complain to much regarding the patients. They have young brats who find the needs of the elderly a nuisance! That's only one thing. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in over 2 weeks. Poop on the toilet for quite some time. I'm completely disgusted. How would many on the outside know when no one visits their family (according to the staff). I'm there to visit often to see what really is going on. They got mad at my mom because she has had to go to the bathroom. They told me "we just took her!" Omgosh, Really!!!? Not the 1st time. I've also told them all, even though some come & go, that she does not hear well and they still don't speak very loud. I watch them talk to her and she doesn't understand I know she doesn't understand, I tell them she does not understand but no one hears me! Why would they listen to her? I'm really done got to find another place for Mom. If you love your parent do not take them here! read more

The family and I would stop in often to visit and she always seemed happy. i appreciated the cleanliness of the facility and the compassion that all the staff showed to every resident and guest. My dad died here. He went here against his will. The staff are very arrogant and rude. I wasn't allowed to visit often because of my dads wife's rules. She put him here during Covid without consulting me or my brother. I have ptsd from all of this. It was like a horror movie trying to visit and only allowed a limited time even though I had to travel over an hour to visit only to be turned away many times and only allowed to look at him through a screen window most of the time. The moment I walked in I fell in love with the amazing staff. They are so caring and loving with my Dad. I visited over a dozen facilities and this is by far the best one. It doesn't have that sterile hospital feel. It feels like home. Home cooked meals three times a day with fresh food and desserts. My dad is absolutely spoiled here!! The grounds are well kept and clean. SO much room for families to come visit and enjoy being outside with loved ones. Thank you Laura, Ryan , Kay and staff for all you do!! read more

I would really like to give this place no stars. This is the WORST place ever! Please do not take your loved ones here. After my dad being in there for a little over a week, we took him out, due to the lack of care, and laziness of the staff. It's more important for them to get dishes washed then attend to the needs of their patients. My dad was in horrible condition after being there a little over a week, his bottom was so red and chafed from lack of proper cleaning, as well as his tongue had a thick layer of gunk from them not helping him clean his mouth properly. They would leave him alone in a dark room during dinner in this adult high chair, and not help assist him with eating which he needs (my mom found this out while doing a surprise visit.). Overall, this place is dirty, and the staff are incompetent and lazy. read more

1st impressions makes a difference. called ahead in case they were busy, was told to just drop in and tour the facility. young lady that greeted me was more concerned about finishing up her call on a cell phone than making eye contact and excusing herself. As I toured the facility, she kept getting interrupted by calls as well. the dining area was cluttered, messy. I didn't go further as I advised her this was not the place for my loved one. needs improvement! read more
