I first…read morediscovered Lyric Hill Farm's goat milk soap at a farmers' market back in 2014 or 2015 -- after buying a few bars of their rosemary mint soap, I was absolutely hooked. Over the years I've purchased different scents (all made with natural herbs and milk from the farm's goats) and even bought mini versions as favors for my sister's baby shower in 2017... get it? Soap? Shower? Ha! Most recently, I've been smitten with the lavender goat milk powdered laundry detergent. I love the charming tin it came in and it's awesome that Nancy (the farm/biz owner) will also offer refill purchases so you don't have to buy a new tin each time. I'm on my third refill and just got a 64 oz bag so that'll last me a while. It's so nice to get the scent of fresh natural lavender when I'm washing clothes instead of a noseful of chemicals. It's the little things! The farm is a lovely place to visit and a really nice drive leading up to it. Granby has some scenic roads for sure - plus, stopping by for laundry detergent gave me an excuse to hit up Grassroots for some ice cream down the road!

Brilliantly colorful Adirondack chairs, dazzling wall art, planters, lawn spinners, gazebos, lawn décor, and more are everywhere. Not only is he inventory beautiful, but there is so much of it. And when you go inside the buildings, you'll pretty much have the same experience with different goods like furniture, housewares, candy, jarred foods, toys, stuffed animals, lamps, birdhouses, candles, clothing, kitchen gadgets, soaps, health and beauty aids, the massive variety of things to buy never ends. It's like the greatest county store you've ever visited taken to the tenth power on steroids. We had a blast walking through the Village Complex, chit chatting with the friendly staff and bought some candies for the grandkids. We'll be back to get some lawn spinners or lawn accessories once we're done with the weeds and landscaping. If you haven't visited here, I strongly recommend that you do. We're so glad that we did! What an amazing hidden gem for all things Christmas. Everything is quality made, and our style is Americana/country, so this was right up our alley. If I had to refurnish my house again, I would come here in a heartbeat! We found so many nice Christmas decorations, and I certainly didn't mind paying a little bit higher prices for quality products. Any staff members we encountered were pleasant. We will absolutely be returning, and I can't wait to come back during other seasons to check out their selections! We easily spent 3 hours here combing through everything, and we couldn't believe the gigantic warehouse of furniture!

It was my first visit, and I was amazed at the thousands of varieties of stunningly colorful annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and more. Rows and Rows of beautiful flowers everywhere. We ended up buying four flats of pretty pink and purple perennials @ $2.95/flat. The Raspberry Parfait Dianthus will really beautify our mailbox. They also have a store with all sorts of home decor and furnishings. Note that Coward Farms is open during the year in three distinct time periods - Spring from May 1st - July 3rd, Fall from Sept. 1st - Oct. 31st and Christmas -starting the Friday after Thanksgiving.

They consign an extensive range of Junior & Women's clothing, household Items, home décor, artwork, fine and costume jewelry, silver & gold handbags, shoes, scarves & accessories, small wood furniture, books, CD's, DVD's, gifts, and collectibles. They recently introduced men's clothing to their selection, though currently, their men's inventory is limited to around a dozen outerwear coats and a few colorful bicycle racing jerseys. There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). There are a few tables outside, so waiting until it's warm enough or ordering To-Go would be my suggestion. I shared pictures of the beautiful breakfast plates we received. The food was delicious! The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. My husband's breakfast star was the chef made ham steak slices, and the rosemary sourdough toast. Yes, I recommend the food here! We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.

I lucked out because there was a massive sales promotion today. It's hard to get misled on pricing when a posted sign says everything in the store was just $2. Must have been some sort of merchandise clearance deal or something similar. Anyway, as I walked around the store I noticed things were super neat and organized. The store was crowded, especially their tiny parking lot which was maxed out so we had to park on the mulched lawn on the side of the driveway. I was sifting through the men's section, almost bought two long sleeve white shirts but they were a few sizes too big for me. And that's when my eyes settled on a nice light gray/light green Joseph A. Bank suit. A suit for $2!!!!!! It needs to be altered, but I'm thinking I'll still come out way ahead on the deal. My wife also bought a nice coat for $2. The sales ladies were personable and funny, and I had a great time kibitzing with them. All sales proceeds go to charity, and that's a nice touch.

They are open three days a week for a few hours. There are three older ladies who work here. All sales go towards the East Granby food pantry. Inside is one room filled with stuff. The clothes all look very worn, as do the shoes. One of the employees came up to me and told me, if I like anything we can make a deal. She also told me all shoes are $5.00, buy one get one free. That's a bargain. They have some dishes, some home decor items, and some little figurines. Nothing stood out to me. Until I saw, these brand new Keds purple sneakers. I tried them on, they fit and I brought them to the register. That same lady who earlier told me the shoes were "buy one get one free, at $5.00 each". She reminded me of the sale, and told me I could get another pair for free. I told her, "that's ok. I only found one pair." Well, her colleague who obviously heard everything told me they are $20.00. I wasn't going to argue, so I left. I think their business policy is awful. I understand the proceeds go towards the food pantry, which is a wonderful cause. I don't appreciate their lack of honesty towards the customer.
