Offices were spam calling me back daily or bombarding me with emails like ad agencies lol. Or that typical tiktok "this doctor has THIS special technique" which felt sooo gimmicky and fake. I never felt like I really got to see PS doctors as medical providers and get to speak to them without the shiny Beverly Hills facade. Plastic surgery does have this trendy side.. i get it. But it is still a very big medical procedure and I really felt like I just couldn't trust a lot of these flashy doctors I'd spoken to... I lost around 40 lbs and I always dreamed of fixing my lower pooch area - my case is a little odd because I haven't had kids yet and am relatively lean - I was looking for a really refined result. AND zero BS. just tell me what's possible and what's not. Dr. Kim didn't take a crazy consultation fee. I didn't wait months for a consultation. He didn't try to sell me anything. His office looks and works like an actual (clean and beautiful) medical office. I never waited for my appointments. During my consultation, he gave me plenty of time to ask questions and voice my concerns. I didn't feel like I was being spoken down to or being sold a used car. Finally felt like I'm speaking with a doctor who can actually lay out to me exactly what to expect moving forward, the downsides and upsides of my options, and what was and wasn't possible. Nothing was downplayed or overexaggerated. I had never had surgery before and so I really wasn't ready to have a big procedure like a tummy tuck. I asked if there was a more conservative option for my loose skin/pooch - we settled on a mini tuck with lipo to remove a large portion of my problem area - with the door always open for a full if I ever wanted. Dr. Kim was supportive, nonjudgmental and honest about whatever decision I chose. Results - my mini TT results were BEAUTIFUL. My stubborn lower pooch was totally smoothed out - no lipo ripples or weird creases. I recovered in like 2 weeks. No infections, no broken stitches, no seromas, no hypertrophic scarring, no dead skin, just... nothing. Dr. checked in with me after surgery multiple times to make sure I was doing okay. My garment fit comfortably and I was on just tylenol by the end of day 2. My incision healed into a thin, fine line which was sooo easily covered in a bikini. Way later when I was finally ready for a full tummy tuck surgery to reach the last bits of loose skin, the ease of my decision was in large part influenced by how smooth my past experience was. I trusted I was in good hands, and I was right. AGAIN, the entire procedure despite being a WAY bigger one, was just as smooth as the first time. Drains were easy. Stitches dissolved easily. The new incision is exactly where we planned for it to be - thin, and very very low and replaced my older scar. I entrusted Dr Kim to decide whether muscle repair was needed or not - he said he will if needed, since we're already in there let's make it perfect! I am snatched lol :'D my belly button looks so cute with a little hood, it looks natural and lovely. I'm around 3 weeks out and my incision is already so clean and healing very well. At this point, I can say I have a very good idea of how Dr Kim's office works, the pre op, surgery, the follow up, as well as healing/recovery. All the girls remember me, they make scheduling extremely easy, are fun to talk to, and before and after my operation my nurse really made me feel safe, cared for, and at ease. I was given all instructions and medications promptly and on time, as well as the Dr's personal number for any issues at all. Everyone has their own experiences and surgery is a big decision which can have unpredictable outcomes. But for me, choosing Dr. kim (twice) was the best decision I made for myself. This is an update 5 years later after my rhinoplasty with Dr. Diaz where I still love my nose!…read more Due to the asymmetries in my face and thickness of skin, the final healed results were at about 99% of what I expected. I called Dr. Diaz's office to confirm if this was normal and if anything had happened to not achieve the perfect results expected. Dr. Diaz called and explained everything perfectly and removed all of my concerns. Dr. Diaz is truly one of the best plastic surgeons, and a rhinoplasty is like trying to do surgery on a moving target. To solve for the final 1% of my concern, I was invited to speak to him for a revision in the future if needed. This is all to say, he is truly the best and while 99.999% of his results are all home runs, sometimes very complex noses (like mine) have a slightly almost perfect result and that is OKAY! I am beyond pleased with the result of my nonincisional / suture double eyelid surgery with Dr…read more Charles Kim. I am 45 years old with thin eyelid skin and mild-to-medium skin laxity. I used to be able to "draw in" eyefolds with sharp eyebrow scissors and keep those folds throughout the day with hard blinks, but as I got older, it became harder and harder to keep the fold, even with glue. At my consultation, Dr. Kim immediately started using his crease tool on my eyelids to try out different crease heights, making observations about my eye shape and differences in skin laxity between my eyes. Dr. Kim was the fifth surgeon I consulted with in LA and I chose him because I felt that he truly listened to me, is very patient, and has a good aesthetic eye. Right before the surgery, he spent a long time marking and remarking my eyelids until I was satisfied. During the procedure, Dr. Kim had the most delicate touch when administering local anesthesia. I was really nervous about what it would feel like to have needles going into my eyelids, but I barely felt a thing and that part was over in seconds. I was pleasantly surprised when he took the safety measure of slipping corneal eye shields on my eyeballs to protect them (zero discomfort), and asked me to open my eyes throughout the procedure to check on his work (just as they do in Korea). We ultimately decided to do slightly different crease heights on my eyes to address the saggier skin on the left one. My first week of recovery was such an emotional roller coaster because the left eye looked like a mountain compared to the right eye, but by the end of week two, 80% of the swelling was gone and both eyelids had settled nicely. Now, almost three months out, my eyefolds are amazingly symmetrical and are EXACTLY what I asked for. I had realistic but VERY specific expectations going in, and Dr. Kim delivered on creating the natural tapered eyefolds I asked for. Nobody can tell I had anything done. I had older implants, capsular contracture, and needed scar tissue removed, along with replacing my implants and having a breast lift. For my surgery, I chose 500cc Motiva Ergonomix implants with a circumareolar lift, and I'm truly so happy with how everything is healing and coming together. I'm three weeks post-op from my breast augmentation performed by Dr. Kahng, scheduled and coordinated by the lovely Maritza, and cared for by a darling staff of nurses. I chose him because of his work on body types similar to mine, I am lean and athletic with very minimal breast tissue and have a long narrow torso. One detail that stood out to me was that I saw that he takes great care of nipple placement, which was important to me because I saw many other surgeons' works with disregard for that aesthetic. After seven months of research, I went to two consultations. I picked Dr. Kahng after careful reflection for his candor and demeanor during my consult. Maritza was in the room with me, which made me feel safe and comforted meeting with and undressing in front of the doctor (Yes, I know it's his job, but I'm a 24yo and can feel nervous alone with men... it felt like having a mom in the room with me when I was a child getting a checkup... I liked that feeling). The nurses have been a pleasure. I've come for four early mornings and they've all greeted me heartily with smiles and laughter. I've contended with anxiety all my life but they put me at such ease every time I see them for check ups-- thank you. In previous consults, when I asked about breastfeeding, possible complications, closing the gap in my visible sternum- I was given enthusiastic yeses! Everything is possible! Nothing can go wrong! But Dr. Kahng had a more reliable and sophisticated demeanor. He was down to earth, but never hesitated to tell me an answer I might not want to hear. His honesty was appreciated far more than any people-pleasing enthusiasm. I actually saw a negative review about his attitude but... it made me want to choose him because I knew he would be honest and direct with me. My augmentation went through smoothly, I did ask for the biggest size my body could fit (350cc) and he told me it might not be possible- but that he would try. He succeeded. I would say the pain was difficult at first, the tightness and stretching, the one hour car-ride home (and back for checkups the first week) But I got through it, and I'm beyond ecstatic about my result. The healing has gone very well, and I was warned amply about potential complications and risks, but I've felt well-cared for and monitored closely by the team at Cara. I have no doubt at all in my mind that I picked the right surgeon for my breast augmentation. And I'm filled with gratitude for the support I've received from the staff.

I have undergone revision surgery three times, and it has been five years since I began living with…read morethe results of my fourth surgery. The surgery utilized silicone and rib cartilage, but I believe the biggest problem was that the silicone was placed too high, exceeding the height my nose could handle. After the surgery, unable to bear it any longer, I briefly smoked an e-cigarette a few times on two occasions; the hospital explained that the rib cartilage had collapsed due to the nicotine. About two months after the first surgery, my nose completely collapsed. They performed an urgent revision surgery and rebuilt it. A year later, although it hadn't completely collapsed, my nose had sunk too low, so I underwent a second revision surgery. At the time, the sight of my completely collapsed nose gave me such severe trauma that I became terrified and avoided e-cigarettes and nicotine altogether. Ironically, thanks to this incident, I quit smoking for the rest of my life. In any case, as time passed, the rib cartilage was absorbed much more than expected, causing the tip of my nose to sink significantly once again, even more than the silicone. The hospital suggested that it might be due to the nicotine remaining in my body, but honestly, it was difficult to accept that they continued to attribute the cause to nicotine even after a considerable amount of time had passed. Ultimately, similar results occurred during both the second and third surgeries as the rib cartilage was reabsorbed. When I underwent my fourth revision surgery, they said they would perform the final procedure if I signed a document stating that the hospital would no longer be held responsible for the outcome. Since my nose had already collapsed significantly at the time, I felt I had no other choice, so I signed and proceeded with the surgery. Although the result is better than before, my nose still looks crooked. Even though it has been several years since I stopped smoking, my nose, having undergone four revision surgeries, still looks unsightly; at this point, it is safe to say that it is clearly unrelated to nicotine. During the fourth surgery, I also asked if the silicone could be lowered slightly, as it seemed too high relative to my nose. However, the hospital stated that doing so would require removing the silicone entirely. As someone who had already undergone rhinoplasty, I did not want the silicone completely removed, so I proceeded with the revision surgery as is. However, after researching various sources later, it appeared that the height and angle of the silicone were somewhat too much for my nose from the start. I also learned that there was an option to adjust the shape by refining it without completely removing the silicone. Although it hasn't completely collapsed yet, I ended up with a hooked nose after paying a high price for the surgery. The hospital performed revision surgery three times, but since I couldn't work, I had to fly from Atlanta every time I visited, losing my income for a week. I had to cover all the costs myself--airfare, hotel fees, and food--during my time off. Even though I didn't pay for the revision surgery itself, the need to make four separate visits while losing a week of work was a significant financial burden. Now, I feel that undergoing further revision surgery might actually place an even greater burden on my nasal tissue. It is painful to look in the mirror at the current result, but considering the risks and burdens of additional surgery, I think accepting my current condition and living with it is the most realistic choice. The photo shown is from today, which is at least better than when it collapsed before. Every time I had to wait a year for my nasal tissues to heal before undergoing revision surgery, I had to look at my collapsed nose. The anxiety of waiting and the entire process of wondering if it would work this time, along with the sight of my nose collapsing again after each surgery--all of this was such a huge trauma that I was in agony looking at myself for the entire five years. I know I will continue to be in agony in the future.
