I've waited several months to write this review to really cool down and see how things settled. This is going to be a long and detailed review so TLDR:  This is the WORST doctor I have ever worked with by far. I've never felt like I was in worse hands and I just hope I will be able to forgive myself for letting him touch my face one day. I went to Dr. Layke for a buccal fat removal request at the jowls. I remember specifically grabbing the jowls right at the marionette lines and specifying the problem area when we met -- to which he said no problem, confirming there was minimal downtime.  "You go in cut the fat out and you're good in two days." We discussed that for about 5-10 minutes and then at the end of the consult he recommended a fat transfer to the cheekbones to put some volume in, which I agreed to after a short discussion with him. He said he'd "go in and make a 2 mm incision inside the bellybutton that's basically hidden, extract some fat and then put it in the cheekbones." Easy enough, I thought. Something to note is that we didn't have an additional conversation about downtime after opting for the fat graft. This general consult lasted about 15 minutes.  Day of surgery all goes well. I remember thinking that no instructions were given to me post-op before or after the procedure aside from a piece of paper with generic instructions across all procedures for his patients. I didn't think the majority of these things applied to me because he said there was 2 days of downtime. I get home after with abdominal pain and see a very noticeable patch of hair under my belly button is shaved off. No problem, I think. just wasn't expecting that. It was summer and I now was unable to be shirtless until that grew back because I wanted this to be private (that took two months to regrow btw).  Over the next week, I realized that we had very different definitions of minimal downtime. I was bed ridden the first few days and that was the first time I reached out to the team (who hadn't even contacted me post procedure). Dr. Layke told me there was very little fat so he had to scour what he could. At that point I realized he never checked my belly before the procedure to see if it was a viable donor area.  This review is getting long so I'm going to switch to bullet points: -Didn't realize I couldn't workout for 4-6 weeks. I would count that as downtime.... -I was icing my face and after I reached out to tell him he told me I shouldn't be doing that, and it could burn the fat. (Why did no one tell me that). -The scar at my belly button was (and still is) very noticeable and turns dark red when I exercise. Its much larger than 2 mm. -Didn't have a conversation with me about sleeping on my back so I assumed I was okay after a week (It was not okay). - When I went in for a follow up I asked him something and he said where are you getting this info, I responded the internet, and he said "don't use the internet for your info" -- Which drove me insane because the only reason I was defaulting to Chat GPT was because him and his team gave me no specific instructions for post-op!!!  But the real kicker to me was that the fat he cut out was not at my jowls, it was in my mid cheek. I did a bit of research and buccal fat removal cannot target the jowl. He told me that during our consult saying it will be minimized as the fat redistributes. Unfortunately, this is not what's happened to me. My cheeks are sunken in towards the back and the jowls are not saggy rather than full. All of this bs and he actually just made me look older and didn't properly address what I went into him for.  I am (trying to) take full responsibility for rushing into something that I thought would be simple. I basically picked this over M8 as I thought it would be more effective. But there is something about Dr. Layke not having these important conversations with me beforehand, knowing I was moving and on the go in the middle of the summer that doesn't sit right with me. There was so much left unsaid. Of all the red flags I overlooked, the one that really kills me is the fact that their practice is a sponsored yelp listing , which tells you everything you need to know. Unfortunately for me, I missed that when making a selection and I might regret it for the rest of my life. Learn from my mistake. read more

I can't say enough good things! Ava was incredible in helping to book the surgery and explaining various services. There was a little bit of a mix up with the front desk when scheduling my consultation (they booked me with a doctor I didn't request), but Ava was quick to make things right. I found out the front desk recently hired new staff who was under training when I called in. I was amazed at the customer service I received to correct the error, thanks Ava! Dr. Layke is truly the best rhinoplasty surgeon. It's scary getting operated on your face! He was upfront and honest with me: I had a challenging nose to work with (very deviated C-shape). But he was the right surgeon for the challenge. I'm 5 weeks post op and IN LOVE with it! It's the straight nose I've always dreamt of, it fits my face, it doesn't look "fake," it's just perfect. I am writing a thorough review as I found these to be the most impactful in choosing my surgeon. Pre-Op for Septorhinoplasty: 33 year old male with multiple blunt traumas to the nose throughout the years and a deviated septum. Sinus issues also resulted in multiple sinus infections each year. Upon selecting Dr. Layke as my preferred surgeon, his office team were able to quickly work me in for a consultation. I had been using his dermal repair complex for a few years at this point. By the time I visited for my 2-week pre-op appointment the entire staff knew my name. Dr. Layke expressed phenomenal bedside manner, communication, and actively managed my expectations. One tool he used is a 3D facial scanner where we visualized the end target of what my nose would look like. Procedure: I could breathe better immediately after surgery. It was such an intense feeling. The program Dr. Layke and his team compose feature instructions and key supplements weeks before surgery that truly improved the recovery process from what I observed when friends had a nose job elsewhere. Unlike other procedures that eliminate any nose breathing for the first 7-days after surgery, I had 'breathing tubes' that allowed airflow. Despite the age difference--I am more than twice his age--his positive energy and magnetic personality left a lasting impression on me. For a while, I had been uncomfortable with the reflection I saw in the mirror--specifically, my sagging neck, drooping eyelids, and the bags under my eyes. Today I had micro needling with EXOSOMES by Natalie at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Center. I was driving from San Clemente and it took three hours due to horrible traffic. I called to let the office know I was going to be a half an hour late and they were so kind and patient. They said I might have to wait when I got to the center, but when I arrived, I was taken right in. The receptionist was so pleasant asking me if I would like water or to use the bathroom since I had had such a long drive. Then, I was taking him back and the aesthetician, Natalie, explained calmly exactly what would occur and why it was going to be an effective, wonderful treatment. She said it would feel like vibration since I had had my numbing cream on my face for more than an hour. She told me to let her know if I needed a break, but I never did. As she said, it felt like a vibration with no pain at all. (The key is to use numbing cream that is heavy duty which I owned from a compounding place in San Clemente.) Natalie told me that they would have given me numbing cream a day ahead of time so that I would have had an hour for it to really work. So I would've been covered either way. This place is a lovely professional, pleasant environment with the best people. read more

I hate to give a bad review, but people need to know when less than stellar work is done by someone with such amazing reviews. I had a burn scar removed by Dr Layke that involved dozens of stitches which started separating and bleeding as soon as I walked to the elevator. I turned around and went back and it was clear to me his sutures needed tightening. But the doctor assured me it would heal fine. Months later it was a hideous and wide scar. And it was so bad we tried multiple lasers (which he charged for!) that did nothing to fix it. I am convinced Dr layke should have redone the sutures immediately after seeing they had spread and simply got lazy or made a poorly calculated gamble. Finally I had to pay 3000 for another plastic surgeon to redo the entire procedure. The care this new doctor has shown to make sure the stitches are perfectly tight far exceeds Dr layke's work. I hope the doctor reads this and takes it to heart and learns his lesson. read more

WARNING DO NOT GET DERMAL FILLERS HERE!!!WARNING!! I tried to work with the dr directly before writing this review but it seems the only fair and honest way to also Inform the public on this matter. It's you're face after all, and you want the best of the best! Here's my experience. I found dr. Lakey through a gf of mine who is beautiful and her work looks very natural, I decided I would go in and have a consult and more forward with treatment if i was a good candidate. Dr lakey had wonderful bed side manger and very professional. He chose volume for my cheeks and juvaderm under the eyes. Before I even left the office I felt like it looked a little off- and he said it was swelling and would go down. After 2 weeks the top of my right cheek had what appeared to be or what looked like a horn shape. It was obvious that I had filler. Dr lakey put in some dissolve to remove the product from that area. 4 days later I began to feel my eye swell! I wasn't sure if it was allergic reaction or what! It was so tight and swollen where the filler was -)I went to emergency and they put me on pretisone to bring my eye down! I was leaving for Europe in a week but swelling was too intense to inject product to remove ( too much dissolve product can eat your real tissue) so I had to leave for my trip with a swollen eye! I contacted to dr lakey several times as I was so upset over my eye, unacceptable for filler to look this way . He said as soon as I got back to the states to come in. Now, naturally you can assume my apprehensive of letting him touch my face again- my other gf who went to him informed me she went to dr bashey at obagi to have her under eye filler fixed from the SAME dr. I made an appointment to see dr bashey and within 24 hours my eye was 99% better!!! Wow!!!! I emailed sr lakey to ask for a refund for just the under eye filler... that seemed fair to me being as I had to pay out of pocket to have dr bashey fix lakeys work. Paying to go to the ER because my eye was so swollen it would not open.... Plus the emotional and mentally stress of having to walk around for 2 months with a botched job. Having a dr in practice who has integrity and honors his patients is the most important thing- he squeezed me for $650?? Having principle and respect is key- unfortunately that is not how this business operates. Fair warning to everyone out there!! He's treated me with such kindness, respect and has listened delicately to my needs. He's super honest and will not tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear, and he will not deviate from why you're there and try to sell on further procedures (as many others do). He followed up with / checked in on me frequently after surgery to ensure that I was okay. I have never experienced a doctor who cares so much about his patients and who makes them feel safe like this. The reason to why I saw him was a result from a previous trauma, and both him and his staff have all treated me in a way that made me feel so safe during the entire process. I started going here over a year ago because I had really bad bags/dark circles under my eyes. After a consultation with Dr Layke, he recommended Accutite. This would only require local anesthetic so I thought perfect. It was pretty close to the same price as full surgery for under eyes, but he said it would have the same result. I did the Accutite and ended up having horrible bruising for about 2-3 weeks (initially was told I could go back to work after 3 days). They let me know results can take up to a year to show, but a year later and it looks worse. I tried making an appt to see either doctor and I got called back two different times to reschedule because "the doctors are so busy with surgery" and then called a third time to reschedule and it was too much. I paid thousands of dollars for this procedure that didn't work, the least they could do would be honor an appointment to get filler. read more

I have had gotten filler under my eyes when visiting a friend in La. The doctors here are professional, knowledgeable and actually care.
