I was referred to this office by my dentist. I would never return here again. Dr. Vlahos was very…read morerude and short with me. I kept quiet counting the minutes till I'd get out of there. Sadly I was sent back to his office where he seemed in better spirits than my first visit, 10 months prior. I pointed out how rude he was during my first visit and went over every point with him. Apparently he doesn't like to be corrected. He turned around and wrote my dentist a very catty letter about me lying about things I had said or done while in his office. There was one sentence, at the end of his letter about my problem tooth. I got to see that letter and defend myself to my dentist. I pointed out what I said and did and what I did NOT say or do. A grown man writing such a letter. Sad. Let's hope Dr. Vlahos gets the help he needs.

In terms of scheduling, they were extremely fast and I was in for a consult the day after I called. I needed a root canal done, and am a bit of a nervous person when it comes to dental work. I felt totally comfortable after reassurances from the team. As for the procedure, I just rocked out to music on my headphones while Dr. Norton did the work, and I felt pretty good. Absolutely no pain - Dr. Norton made sure of that, and he explained everything in ways that made it easy for me to follow. Neither (front) teeth should produce this type of general pain and tingling sensation (teeeth, palate, upper lip, nose). Having a sensitivity to pain does NOTsystematically signify a root issue needing a root canal; some people are simply a lot more sensitive to cold than others. Additionally, there is NO need to subject the patient to an intense cold (moderate cold is enough for symptomatology and diagnostic).

Let me clarify that this endodontist (Dr. Kelly Walker) nor anyone at this location performed the original root canal. So this specialist was needed to correct a problem that occurred with the original root canal. The experience here was wonderful. Before she started anything, we discussed the anxiety that could occur because of this procedure. She was glad that I disclosed this issue because it changed her procedure just a little. She offered to take short breaks during the procedure, if necessary. I can't believe that there was no pain at all because she numbed me so very well and she was not rough during the procedure. I only felt slight pressure during the entire process (drilling thru the crown, scraping out the infected pulp and cleaning up). Even as the drugs began to wear off, the pain was not excruciating. He warmly explained everything he was going to do. He gave me a countdown on how long the hard part, the numbing, was going to hurt. Him and his nurse were cracking me up as they worked concisely on my tooth. They actually gave me an ibuprofen in office. Which sounds like a small thing but made a world of difference once the numbness wore off. All in all it was a great experience. I left the office laughing and smiling. 10/10 highly recommend. I will be referring everyone I know to Dr. Shuler.

Each cleaning and exam always ended with a warning to have a tooth extracted because of some imminent failure of a crown, old filling or a cracked tooth - none of these teeth were causing pain or other problems, but I was warned that I'd soon be calling "in middle of the night" in agony. WRONG. I still have these teeth nearly five years later! I have a new dentist. Two of my teeth have had the old fillings replaced and two teeth are on the "watch and wait' list for possible crowns. Do your due diligence. ALWAYS get a second opinion on elective procedures.
