I thinks he's an awesome dr. and they have a very hard working staff as well. The office is clean and they don't overbook.

I have found a new primary care physician. As a person in good health, I appreciate being seen promptly - the last three appointments here started more than an hour late. I've had afternoon appointments, and my last was the second available in the morning. During my last visit, Dr. Buttelman was the person sending my refill prescription to the pharmacy. This prescription was unfortunately never received by the pharmacy. When I called his office to have the prescription re-submitted, I learned that it had been set at double my normal dosage. I wondered why, and requested 1) a call back from Dr. Buttelman; and 2) a refill of my normal dosage, because that is what I expected. On Monday, the office said my prescription would be fixed soon. This didn't happen until Friday. During my calls to the office, I requested the doctor call me back to discuss my prescription. It's been two weeks, and I've called four times. There has been no call back. I desire a better experience. Two stars for a kind demeanor in the patient room, and that's it :( read more

He takes excellent care of my father. Multiple family members have seen Dr. Buttleman and all of them have been happy.

This is a very schlocky office. One time he simply forgot to give me my lab test results. A second time he sent me to a specialist without having faxed my lab test results and his office notes (despite my having called 3 times to remind him to do so!). I re-arranged my whole schedule to see this specialist, which ended up being a waste of time. Simply put, I do not have confidence in this doctor. I strongly recommend you seek medical advice from someone much more organized. Your health is nothing to play with. read more

The Office Staff, including Christine and Montay, are helpful and kind and do everything to support your experience with the doctor. Unfortunately, Dr. Buttelman is the prymary care doctor in Providence Holy Cross Hospital. Dr. Buttelman did not provide the medical treatment and failed to provide the assessment my Mother needed. Dr. Buttelman discharged my Mom from the hospital after 1 week without curing the infection. My Mother was released with a severe cough and swelling and Dr. Buttelman failed to do a chest XRay to check my Mother's lungs. After a week I have to bring my Mother back to the hospital because of pneumonia. Dr. Buttelman prescribed Ativan to my Mom only because the nurse failed to provide a proper assessment why my Mom was confused and agitated. Here's why Dr. Buttelman - it is because the INFECTION is not treated the way it should be treated. You gave my Mom Ativan, failed to diagnose her and discharged her with pneumonia. The sad part is that from the second time my Mom was admitted, all you hear from this Dr. is because my Mom was old. Dr. Buttelman should not be allowed to treat patients anymore. He do not provide the best care a patient need. He failed to do his job and now my Mom is DEAD because of his negligence to assess his patient prior to discharging. I will refused any treatment from him, if he will be the last doctor on earth. I hope this comment is posted so this will serve as a warning. read more

Dr. Buttleman has been my friend's primary physician for several years. When Dr. Buttleman took over her care, I felt like she finally had someone who listened to her. It has become even more apparent these last few weeks. My friend has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Dr Buttelman has been there every step of the way, offering information and compassion. He explains things to her and goes over the information with her when she doesn't understand. When she's scared, he calms her down. He speaks honestly, explaining options and pros and cons. Even though it's a terminal situation, Dr. Buttelman is in her corner, guiding her care with a team of doctors. She feels confident in the advice she is getting. There are no words on how to describe Dr. Buttleman and staff than AMAZING. I have had couple calls to this office where I refuse to go to urgent care before seeing Dr. Buttleman. One occasion I was in Tijuana, Mexico dieing from a terrible pain. At first my mother and I thought it was gallbladder trouble. On the following business day I called Dr. Buttleman office explained what had happen over the phone and they sent me straight to laboratory for blood test and ultrasound of my whole abdomen. Couple days later went for the results so happy it was nothing, just a reaction to a very fatty and over condiment food. Dr. Buttleman did warned me foods high on fat and to many condiments can cause galbladder problems. Since then I have changed my diet and lost some weight and no recurring problems. I will definitely refer to this office any time. I even got my husband to come. And trust me he is not fond of any person with a Dr. Before their name. See you guys soon. read more

Thank you for the horrible care my mother received from you and Dr. Robertson (Medical Director) at Care Meridian Oso Street House (skilled nursing facility.) When the 100 days of skilled nursing care was over, you did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to coordinate care. First, you had her LITERALLY DUMPED at Northridge Hospital, saying the 100 days were over and she had to either go home or pay $1000/day to stay at the SNF. When Northridge Hospital called your facility to complain and threaten police action, your home took her back, however, only after you and the nurse coordinator there FIXED the chart notes stating you ordered her there for evaluation. (I guess that's why no one at the hospital knew why she was there and why she didn't get a bed until 330am.) Then, miraculously, you realized she had another 9 days of nursing care! So, fast forward the 9 days, again she was released, to home this time, with no care set for her. She begged you and the nurse coordinator to ask Blue Cross PPO for more days because there was no way she was able to be at home in her condition, and all of you did nothing. Next, finally a couple days later someone came from to her home from the Home Health Care company and she said WHY ARE YOU AT HOME? You're not safe, and we cannot provide care to you because of this. So, fast forward a couple more days, finally her PCP told her to call 911 and go to Tarzana Hospital where he kept her until just yesterday when he got approval from Blue Cross to get the much needed PT from an acute care hospital where she is now. Btw, I work in diagnostic sales and asked a physician friend of mine, whom you actually refer patients to for ENT to call you personally to help with this process. I was hoping for professional courtesy, at least, on your end, and WOW, what did we get? You tell him she's fine to go home, there's no more SNF days left, you or Dr. Robertson called Blue Cross and there's nothing more they can do. Oh, and whenever you saw her at the nursing facility, she was laughing and having a party with her girlfriends who were visiting her!! Both of us were absolutely stunned upon hearing that. Hey Dr. Buttelman, when you're a very active working professional and out of the blue within 1 second you become paralyzed from the waist down, you need friends to visit to take your mind off your obvious problems! You're a disgrace to the medical profession. I wonder if you would have treated your mother better? read more

In September of 2012 I came down with a fever, thought it was a flu and went to an Urgent Care. They thought it was a flu yet within a week I was seeing double... I called Dr. Buttleman on a referral from my dad. Dr. Buttleman saw me immediately and on examination, checked me into Holy Cross hospital for tests. It turns out that I had West Nile virus. Over the next harrowing 29 days I spent in the hospital, Dr. Buttleman amassed a team of specialists ranging from neurologists, infectious disease experts, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and the like. He was there for me every single day, without fail. I am sure that I would not be alive right now if it weren't for him. He has a great bedside manner, explains things well, and goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are getting the best care possible. I have experienced a full recovery and I wholly attribute it to Dr. Buttleman's experience, skill and acumen. He is the best. Period. read more
