1 Star - Reception Manager Shelley's Lies & Dr. Etehad's Cover-Up Harm Patients Dr. Etehad is an excellent doctor, and his staff (except one) are stellar! But the reception manager Shelley's actions are unacceptable. After switching providers in Bakersfield, my new doctor faxed a records request five weeks ago--I saw the fax confirmation. Shelley ignored it, lied in an email to me claiming she never got it, and even after I emailed her last week demanding she notify my doctor by the next day, she didn't call (I even gave her the information). My new doctor confirmed yesterday they've received anything. When I left a message and confronted Shelley, I demanded to speak to Dr. Etehad. He claimed he didn't get the request, clearly protecting her despite the fax proof AND EMAIL with my new doctors information excusing her delay that's stalling my care. My new doctor's office is confused why only Shelley handles records releases. Shelley's done this before. For my annual mammogram with prescribed ultrasound, she told radiology only one breast was approved, forcing me to choose--shocking their manager. When I needed my file for housing paperwork, she refused, then made me wait 15 minutes while she dawdled. For over a decade, I've endured Shelley's rude, condescending attitude toward me and others. Dr. Etehad seems aware but won't fire her. Shelley's lies and HIPAA violations risk patient health. I'm reporting to the California Medical Board. Avoid this practice until she's gone! read more

Siamak Etehad is an exceptional doctor. From the moment you walk into the office, everything is spotless, organized, and welcoming. His staff is kind, professional, and caring. Dr. Etehad is extremely knowledgeable, detail-oriented, patient, and truly listens to his patients. He takes his time, explains everything clearly, and makes you feel comfortable and cared for. Doctor Etehad is the most caring doctor I have met here in USA. He has been my doctor since 2017 after I ended up with high blood pressure during my pregnancy. Sometimes you have to wait longer but it's because he takes his time to talk to the patient, he really tries to know you and how he can help you. I wish all doctors were like him. Dr. Etehad, my primary care physician, is hands-down, the finest medical doctor I've ever seen. His demeanor and bed-side manner is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. Dr. Etehad always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed, I never feel as if I'm being rushed. I have the sense that this doctor REALLY cares about my whole being and not just the fact that I needed a physical exam or some other ailment attended to. Dr. Etehad has demonstrated the worse as a doctor can be. He sees patients through the lenses of $$$$. My best friend went to the hospital for fracturing his hip, and after 4 weeks lost his life. This review is long overdue. Dr. Etehad has been treating me for almost 20 years. I work in the medical industry and know hundreds of physicians and I can say without a doubt that he is one of the best internist/doctors/healthcare professionals I have ever met. Several things separate Dr Etehad from other doctors. First, no matter how busy he is he always makes you feel welcomed. He is one of a kind when it comes to the attention and care he provides. He is an excellent listener, remembers details from conversations months ago, and takes the time to ask the right questions to get to a proper diagnosis. I've never feel rushed when he sees me. He is also one of the hardest working internists I have ever met and is extremely dedicated to patient care. A significant difference between Dr Etehad and other IMs is that he is among the dwindling number of physicians that still see hospitalized and nursing home patients (in addition to office). Why is that so important? Because he is constantly dealing with complicated, high acuity and difficult to treat patients. He is continuously learning and working daily with specialists on difficult cases. This distinction is an important one if you are looking for a doctor that can handle more nuanced and difficult presentations. Lastly, his staff (Shelly, Nancy & Sonia), are simply awesome. They have worked there for a long time and are polite, warm, responsive and great with follow-up. What a huge difference the staff can make in an office and they are fantastic. Dr. Etehad is a great, cooperative, smart, and caring doctor. I have been to his office about four times, and each and every time has been a good experience. I always get a little nervous whenever I have to go see the doctor, but he is such a nice and caring individual that he puts all my worries to rest. Even the time I couldn't get an appointment, I only had to wait about an hour. That's great in comparison to my last doctor (Dr. Ramirez in Burbank) who even with an appointment I had to wait over an hour! Oh, and he has a great personality with even a sense of humor. I saw Dr. Etehad today. He is an Internal medicine Dr., so only adults are treated here. After seeing his reviews, being in my new HMO network and very close to home, I made an appointment. I called and got in within 2 days. The parking is great, they have a multi-level garage and it's FREE! The building is older but maintained well and clean. His office is small but clean. The staff is friendly. I only waited about 10 min to be called in to a room and then maybe another 15 min until he came in. He is patient, friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. He even asked me if there was anything else that I wanted to address before leaving. Such a nice and caring man! He uses the lab downstairs for blood work too, that makes it very easy. This is like apples & oranges compared to the nightmare of a medical facility that I was stuck with for a year. I will def recommend friends and family. read more

I really like Dr. Etehad. But his receptionists lack professionalism. The older lady at the front desk (I don't even know what her name is) is very lacking in customer service skills. I don't know if it's cultural or she just has an attitude. She's always "stressed" by sitting down all day and is impatient. I've never seen her smile. She can't even answer your questions. Im a nurse and i work in a snf. Ive known DR. Etehad for a few years and i see how knowledgable, patient and caring doctor he is with his patients. With covid-19 Dr. Etehad continues to see his patients in person, that shows how dedicated doctor he is to his patients. Sat in the hot and muggy waiting room for an hour and 45 min before the lady who came in 30 min after me started to complain. They then let her in before me of course. At which point I just got up, and told the receptionist I had to get back to life. read more

I am impressed with Dr. Etehad and his business partner, Dr. Josephson. I saw Dr. Etehad after my friend recommended him. I has been to Urgent Care and my regular MD during a month of coughing, chest pains and just feeling lifeless. After 4 visits to other places, I wasn't getting better. My friend recommended Dr. Etehad and he immediately sent me to the ER. He could hear the pneumonia in my lungs and sent me to Holy Cross, which gave me unbelievable treatment! Because of the delay in seeing Dr. Etehad, I think this is why it took me close to 4 months to get better. I am otherwise really healthy and never had any sickness like this. He is now my MD for life! He takes his time with his patients and the office is EXTREMELY busy. But I love his bedside manners and how much care he gives to his patients. If you are in the Valley or willing to drive there, and you are willing to wait a bit to be seen for a regular check up, I recommend their office. Great MDs! read more

I work in a doctors office, and called Dr. Etehad's office to sched. a consult for my husband. I was told to email my insurance card to the manager, she will check if we are contracted and call me to schedule appointment. Days passed by and I never received a call, I called the office again and they said they didn't get my email so I resent it. I also called my insurance myself and Dr. Etehad is contracted with my insurance. Days passed again and I didn't get a call so my office manager called the office since we see mutual patients to see what was going on. She was also told they never received my email so I made a copy and faxed it to them they then checked my insurance info. and found out we're in net work so they called her back and gave me an appointment for the office. Now appointment was for today 7/31/2018 @ 10:00am my husband shows up to the office and the front desk lady says " what are you doing here"? he replied well I have an appointment today. She then says who made you the appointment and he answered my wife did. She then tells him your wife got the wrong date with an attitude. Now it might have been correct that the date was mixed up , that's not what I'm complaining of. What's irritating is the attitude this receptionist gave . She didn't even greet my husband when he walked in. Couldn't even find him in their system. She seemed irritated with the whole situation and she is not even the patient. It is sad that they can loose patients due to their staff. My husband felt so uncomfortable and upset the way he was spoken to being the first appointment he was going to. He was looking for another doctor to see and I referred him there since I know Dr. Etehad is a great doctor. I also gave him a heads up since we already know this doctors staff is rude with patients and with other doctors office, since we have experience it when they call our office or when we call them to request records. I absolutely love Dr Etehad. I have been seeing him for about 25 years. My parents, siblings and children see him as well. I have also recommended several friends. Dr Etehad has a wonderful bedside manner. He is very caring. His practice isn't monetarily driven. There are only 2 minor problems. One is Shelly. She works at the front desk and isn't the friendliest. The other is the wait. His office is very busy because he is a terrific doctor. However, I deal with both of these minor issues because Dr Etehad is so great. read more

Dr. Etehad is THE BEST doctor of internal medicine that I have ever had. He went above and beyond in each and every interaction we had. I was admitted into the hospital for 5 days. Dr. Etehad came to my room every morning. He had a hospital full of patients yet he gave me so much compassion and attention I truly felt I was his only patient. He would sit by my bed and explain my condition in a way I would be able to understand. He would answer each and every question I asked. He was always friendly and never rushed our discussions. I have been dealing with a chronic illness for almost 3 years. I have seen numerous doctors. I was never able to get any answers or help. I was starting to believe I was never going to get better. Then I was so blessed to meet Dr. Etehad. He has helped me and has made it possible for me to have the best Christmas celebration that I have had with my family in 3 years.
