I was referred here by my dentist for a root canal and I really wish I hadn't been. It was probably my worst experience getting a root canal. The doctor is very rude and unprofessional. He belittles his staff and is downright demeaning if they forget or do something incorrectly. It was very uncomfortable and I wanted to give them all a hug. He was also very condescending to me just because I took an ibuprofen prior to coming in to dull the pain and he couldn't access my tooth right away. I ended up spending my whole day there which was unfortunate. I would never refer anyone here. If you get referred here, find another alternative. read more

I would like to preface this by saying that I have never written a review but I feel the need to speak up so that maybe they can this into consideration to fix a few things. I had a root canal and I was very nervous for the pain. I brought in all cash and I watched both of the front desk guys count it 7 times. And then when I sat down they came in asking for $50 more because they counted it wrong. The dental assistant was kind but had no idea what she was doing. She took up to 20 x rays during the whole appt and could not figure it out. They brought in multiple other assistants and one of them was rude. I felt like a test dummy with this group. No one knew what they were doing when I would ask a question the dental assistant clearly didn't know the answer so she'd laugh. I feel like the appropriate thing to do is say "You know what I'm not sure but let me ask the doctor for you". I had my final straw when they were trying to put this cap thing on my tooth and this other assistant was manhandling my face for the 4th time of trying to get it on my tooth and it flew across the room. I started crying because I was that much more nervous that this group had no idea what they were doing and I had been waiting already for the doctor in my chair for 2 and 1/2 hours. He finally came in and he was efficient and I was numbed just the right amount but he was condescending when talking to his staff rather than being a good teacher. I'm not sure if literally everyone here was new besides the doctor or what. But please hire people with more experience so this doesn't happen to your patients anymore! I am not one to complain about any services, but when I tell you this doctor was unprofessional, I mean it. The way he talks to his staff is baffling, using his authority and dictating their every move, made me feel uneasy... NO ONE deserves to be spoken to the way he talks to his employees... Truly disappointing!! I do not write many negative reviews, but this place deserves just that. First off, they did a root canal for me several years back l, that went bad. Had to go back to them several times for several costky priceduresbefore having my tooth completely removed because they failed to do the root canal thoroughly. Had a second root canal done. Which is going bad. Went back to them immediately to try to get it figured out only to get the runaround and attempt to charge me for a reevaluation. On this Reeval, I have made three attempts and they have canceled on me every time. Apparently their policy is to cancel your appointment if you do not respond to their confirmation messages on their timeline. read more

Wish i could give a 0. Don't know where to begin. This dr is absolutely ridiculous. He appears to be a calm guy until you hear and see his mannerisms. The way he talks to his staff is disgusting. Little man with big ego issues. The way he has you waiting in that chair is awful. In between patients . What was supposed to be 2 hr visit turned into 4 hours. Ridiculous. He's constantly on his phone taking his sweet time on there then hopping in your room when HE'S ready. Unhygienic. Pops something in his mouth before working on you I was just too embarrassed to say something about that. And then him and his staff touch a tablet with their gloves and then work on you immediately after. The experience was horrendous. Wow what a horrible experience... First my original appointment was for 11:15 .. then they called me and asked if I could come at 1 instead okay sure no problem.... I got there at 1 they asked for my credit card and insurance.. okay cool they told me I'm gonna have an exam then we will see what they can do so after waiting 1 hour I was finally seen at 2! The dentist ended up telling me I don't need a root canal so he wasn't going to do it and he will adjust the billing to just an exam. I didn't know they already charged me so I literally am out money for something they never did because they couldn't wait until AFTER I've been seen. Now I have to wait a month to get my refund.. OBSURD. Never have I been to a medical facility where they charge you FIRST for a treatment you don't even know you need before an exam. Change your billing issues it. Don't recommend this money hungry place. Bad review for me having to wait a month to get MY money back. read more

If I can give 0 stars I would... I worked for Dr Sabourin as a temp floating assistant for 3 consecutive weeks because that is all that I could take of the belittling and mind controls. I went into the office with enough confidence to learn as fast as I can and was even offered a position but I declined it. There were several occasions where he embarrassed me in front of patients instead of pulling me to the side to correct me. My co workers were the best. They were willing to teach me and help me learn but I believe they can do better than working at his office. I am truly surprised that he has been opened for 20+ years due to his attitude under pressure. When he is running behind his hands are not steady and tends to pick on his team with attitude and nit picking. I observed a patient come in for an evaluation and wait 2 hours just for him to tell her that the tooth in question was unsalvageable. I am so glad to be done with this place. read more

Disappointed, my anxiety of going to the dentist is highly noted. I had schedule to be sedated the day before the surgery at 4:45pm they call to tell me my pharmacy said my insurance doesn't cover the meds so the doctor won't do my procedure, I tell let me go see what is going on . They were right it wasn't covered, but it was only $18 dollars, sorry they should of been aware of the pricing, anyways I called and called left several messages so I can get back in for the day scheduled but they were in training, however no one after several has called me back. This was probably the most uncomfortable dental visit I ever had. The staff was very friendly. The girls in the front were helpful and everyone was nice. But for a root canal procedure it took 3 hours and 15 mins total. The most uncomfortable thing was having to wait for the doctor to come work on my tooth because he was busy with other patients. I really didn't mind waiting because when I came for my consultation I waited 2 hours to be seen. But having to wait in the waiting room and waiting on the patient's chair, numb with a clamp in your mouth was a different experience. It's a busy office and the doctors only does the drilling since he's trying to see 5 other patients at the same time. There were 3 other people who worked on my tooth. One for numbing, one for filling and One for everything else. After each person the doctor had to come approve the next step so I was just sitting there with that clamp in my mouth; not only was it uncomfortable but it was honestly hard to breathe. I've had a root canal done before from a different doctor and it was much more pleasant that time. Even though the employees were very nice and the office is clean, that didn't help better this experience. I wouldn't come back here nor will I recommend this office for dental work. read more

I was in extreme pain with an infected tooth when I walked into Dr. Christen Sabourin's dental office in Clovis recently. Each and everyone of his staff was very compassionate towards me and assured me as soon as a chair opened up they would have me in it even though my appointment was scheduled for an hour and a half later. They numbed me which helped overcome my horrific pain. Dr. Sabourin cleaned the infection out and put me on antibiotics along with pain medication. I will see him again for my November follow up appointment. If you are looking for a endodontic specialist Dr. Sabourin is the dentist to see. Ok, I never thought I'd end up writing a review for a dental facility but here goes. I am a total wuss when it comes to any sort of dental pain so when my regular dentist discovered that I probably had an abscess and needed root canal, I nearly fainted. What could be worse? Not only did this office get me in the next day, they put me completely at ease. I explained that I was scared spitless and showed the first technician my trembling hands. She calmly and patiently explained the whole process and assured me that I would be numb as a rock - my words, not hers. Each technician who assisted was kind, friendly and comforting. I went in for a root canal. It took 5 hours. He saw several other patients as I sat with my mouth propped open until it hurt. During the entire treatment he asked his staff many questions such as: "How many patients do we see in an hour?." He asked her to calculate that by the hours in a day. When she came back with the answer, he asked, "Calculate that by the seconds in the hour." --and many similar questions. Other conversation included the following: "How many syringes do we need for each room?" She answered. He responded, "Can we get by with 3?" She said yes. Then he said, "Can we get by with 2?" She answered, "If we sterilize it between each patient." Then he asked, "Can we get by with one?" She answered, "No." Even though he was nice and friendly I got the feeling it might not be safe to go there because he doesn't want to spend money on necessary supplies. read more

I was referred by Dr. Mirelez when we decided I did need a root canal. Coming in, I was nervous because I didn't know what to expect. But the girls at the front counter were incredibly nice and friendly, his hygienists were friendly and informative, and Dr. Sabouring put me at ease. They gave me a blanket, headphones and a pillow to help me relax. The start of the procedure to the end to was a max of 45 minutes. I was referred to this dentist.. Months before my appt.. Till one day I was in excruciating pain I called their office to make an apt and the lady I spoke to was beyond nice from the get go.. And did everything she could to get me in that same day.! As soon as I arrived I was greeted by the entire staff and as soon as u fill up ur paper work they do their best to accommodate you by providing u a blanket, tea, ext. nothing like id ever seen.' I was able to get part one of my root canal when home with no pain.. My second visit was also very welcoming I had partially been sedated I was wheeled out to my car..! I was a little nervous and not excited it was out of town because I am so use to my regular dentist office since I was a kiddo. Admit it. Root canal is not fun, having 7 of them done before in my mouth. Last month when I was referred to Dr. Sabourin, I was expecting another painful ordeal. But, I was pleasantly surprised how skillfully Dr. Sebourin was able to perform the procedure, seemingly effortlessly, by drilling a micro-sized hole in the tooth. The procedure was almost pain free. They get one star for the root canal even though I still have cold spots. The location is isolated and hard to find. The staff is friendly in a regimented perfunctory sort of manner and the office manager believes she runs the place. The lobby is just ok. As for the inside, it looks like an old dental college they converted into a dentist's office replete with yellow and brown water stains on the ceiling. The dr is jovial and a bit too familiar almost borderline harassing with the female help staff. Made me uncomfortable for them. He did not finish by putting a permanent filling in, rather he sent me back to the dentist that referred me. No doubt a business agreement between their offices. This dr is also extremely expensive and will bill you a petty fee for something they claim the insurance didn't pay for. I'd advise you get an estimate that has been correctly checked with the insurance first as to avoid "extra" fees after paying a lot already. To summarize... keep looking. This one's more about the money than the patient. read more

Just went in to get a root canal and had the best experience. The staff were all so very friendly and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. They brought me a blanket and also brought me some headphones so I can listen to my iPod while they work. My procedure went very well and I felt no pain whatsoever. I was in need of immediate pain relief and was referred to Dr. Sabourin's office. When I arrived, the staff greeted me and were very friendly. I filled out a few papers and was seen immediately. They took x-rays numbed me up and repaired the damage that was causing the pain. The pain stopped and have not had any issues since. Very nice office staff and Dentist. read more

Today my mom and I made our way over to Clovis for her root canal appointment. This was our first time ever going to this office. When we arrived it seemed like a very good environment. We felt very comfortable and the receptionist was friendly. It was cold outside and thankfully they had complimentary tea out near the front desk. The only down side to this visit was the wait. We sat in the waiting room about an hour and fifteen minutes. When we were finally called in they greeted us with smiles and made sure that we were comfortable. They even offer us blankets just in case we got cold. It took about 2 hours for the entire operation, but I'm guessing that's what an average root canal appointment is like. During the operation Dr. Sabourin was very talkative and whistled to the radio playing. Also the assistant was very helpful and friendly. She seemed like she was very proud of her job. Overall my mom said it was a great experience and she would recommend any of her friends to go there. And also they gave us $10 at the end for driving from Caruthers to Clovis.
