Dr. Mailloux took the time to address long-standing concerns we've had with our youngest son's tongue tie--something we've struggled to get a resolution to over the years. She explained how the tongue tie may be impacting his speech and may even be contributing to crowding in his teeth. Not only did she take the time to thoroughly explain these connections, but she also provided us with a referral to a speech therapist who can help strengthen his tongue muscle and work on mouth motor skills. She even gave us practical tips for at-home exercises, including the use of a particular straw to support tongue strengthening. After years of feeling unheard by other professionals, it was such a relief to finally have someone who understood and provided real answers.
