You must plan a trip out here; yes, I said that! I absolutely enjoyed my tasting with Isabella! I got several delicious wine recommendations and tried their cream cheese and jelly board (with homemade peach jelly)! It paired very well with my Envy Texas Verde! The atmosphere was everything I expected of a winery. The set up is gorgeous, wines were delicious, and venue felt safe and welcoming. Note: I came solo. We came with a group for a wine tasting and just to enjoy some greenery outside of Midland/Odessa. Staying in San Angelo so it was only 20 minutes away. The tasting was great, through explanations and the wine was quite tasty. The vino verde and Montepulciano were the crowd favorites. Also the random thunderstorm was the icing on the cake. Sunday, March 3rd, was our "150th MONTH-I-VERSARY", we wanted to Celebrate but didn't come up with what to do. A week before we finally agreed lets Celebrate at a Winery in the area with our Sunday School Class we asked them where would be a good Winery to check out - and you all are invited. Various places were suggested. We heard the name of one place in particular - Christoval Vineyards. My Wife and I stated that we would announce the location soon and it will be scheduled for next Sunday. That same day we went out to Christoval Vineyards and discovered why friends in our Class suggested this place. It is Absolutely Beautiful everywhere you look. We drove up to the Tasting Room and spoke with the Owner, Wendi Neff and the Assistant Manager, Isabel. We talked about what we wanted to do. Wendi explained that they are also open to the Public but can provide an area for our get together Celebration. We sampled some of their Award Winning Wine and chose Five types and Meat & Cheese Platters along with Sodas, Coffee & Water. They said that we could bring Desserts. While we were there we also joined their Wine Club and became Members. During our discussion with Wendi some of our Sunday School classmates were at the Winery enjoying Breakfast and Wine. We joined them and also had Breakfast; a Cheese Omelet stuffed with various items of my choice - it was loaded, and prepared by their Chef in the Covered Patio area. I shared my Omelet with my Wife and she loved it as much as I did - and we tried another glass of Wine, Sparkling Almond, which we added to our list for our Celebration. When we arrived back to the house, I prepared a flyer via email to announce our "150th Month-i-versary" Celebration at Christoval Vineyards that takes place the next Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30pm (or later). The Wines we chose were Angelo Red, Rendezvous, Angelo Blush, Petite Sirah, Angelo White & Sparkling Almond (3-Red & 3-White). We also chose an 'Epicurean Meat & Cheese Platter'; a generous assortment of handpicked, Specialty & Cured Meats. Served with Artisan Crackers, Olives, Fresh Grapes and an assortment of other Seasonal Items. I also printed off some copies of 'How Nancy and I Met' and planned to hand them out to everyone who attends. This is actually the First of our many Stories. We had an overwhelming response to our invite. I contacted Wendi and informed her on how many will attend, ordered unlimited Meat & Cheese Platters and Wine. We decided to bring Desserts for everyone, assorted 'Cake Pops' that my Wife suggested. On Saturday my Lovely Wife had picked up the Desserts at various stores throughout the San Angelo area and came back with 80 assorted Cake Pops, Chocolate, Strawberry (which is birthday cake) and Cookies & Cream. The Vette-Jet is all shiny and ready to Cruise to Christoval Vineyards, which we did and arrived by 1pm to help set-up the area. We are Inside the Tasting Room that also has a Covered Patio with many tables. The Tasting Room also has a lawn area with several tables set up with Beautiful Views of the Winery. Lots of area for our get together and also open to the public. Everyone started arriving and signed there names to Special Name Tags we prepared for them. This enables them to enjoy the Wine and Meat & Cheese in various areas of the Tasting Room and Covered Patio. The Epicurean Meat & Cheese Platters are Beautifully Presented and everyone is enjoying them. The Staff here is keeping them Freshly Filled and the bottles of Wine being replaced when emptied. This was the Perfect Way to Celebrate our "150th Month-i-versary". Everyone had a lot of fun and enjoyed lots of Meats & Cheeses, like 14 Platters, and a lot of Wine was consumed - and the Cake Pops were the Perfect Choice for our Dessert. We also gave some Cake Pops to the Staff, along with some "Special Bow-Tie" Awards for all that they do - Very Well Deserved. There was a few others that were not part of our group that I gave some Cake Pops to enjoy because they were a delight to talk too. You meet the Best People at Wineries - Everyone has Fun. With only a few days notice, our 150th Month-i-versary Celebration could not of been any better. Christoval Vineyards has the Best Wines around and they Grow the Grapes and Bottle themright here on site. Check-em out on Facebook and On=Line - and join their Wine Club - it cost nothing. They also have Scheduled Entertainment on certain week-ends and events, wine tours and tastings - and even Cruises for the Wine Club Members. This Place Is AWESOME. My Wife and I, along with everyone who Celebrated with us, are Extremely Happy with everything Christoval Vineyards provided for our Special Occasion. Do not recommend Brunch end of the month. They prioritize Diamond members. We got there at 11:40 and got our food at 3 pm. Diamond members cut the line and whoever complains. The experience was good except for people who complained and Diamond members who cut the line. It's unfair if you get there right when they open and people cut the line even if they get there 2 hours later. The omelette got smaller as the time got close to 3 pm as well. Put your brunch ticket in ASAP and hope no one cuts you in line. read more

Highly recommend their wines and the tour if you're able. The man that owns the vineyard gave us the tour on Sunday at 2pm and he taught and explained so much about the vineyard. We got to taste the Envy, Tempranillo (2022,2021,2020,2019), Petite Sirah... My favorite was the Envy and the 2019 Tempranillo! Later, we went back to the tasting room for a glass of Sparkling Almond and Angel's Kiss. They also had live music and corn hole. We will definitely be back again! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Every time I am in town I always make it a point to come here. On this trip I have gone every Saturday so far since it is such a nice environment with such delicious wine. Yesterday myself and 3 friends went on one of their vineyard tours. At $20 I thought it was a little pricy but we still all had an amazing time. They are only doing small groups, one at a time right now because of COVID. Our tour guide took time to tell us all about the vineyard and their operation. I was amazed to hear that they do every single step by hand! We were peppered with tons of facts about wine making that I have never heard of before. I learned more in that one tour than I have visiting other vineyards. We got to taste one of their tempranillo wines from the barrel and it was amazing. We also got to taste the same wine from the bottle and their port wine. I love the golf cart ride through the vineyards and hearing about how the grapes are cared for. Although the owners are not the original owners you can see just how much care goes into their business and wine production. After the tour we ordered a bottle of the tempranillo and some snacks/pizzas to enjoy outside by the stream. Sitting outside with a nice glass of wine has to be my favorite way to spend an afternoon! I first went to visit the vineyard but stayed for the wine with my husband and of course the view! I fell in love with all of it but especially the Angelo Blush which is now my favorite wine. I love it but in times of this pandemic I prefer staying home to be safe and found out delivery was an option! So I went on their website and not even a few hours later I now have a few bottles of Angelo Blush sitting in my kitchen thanks to their delivery. This was the most beautiful and easy to work with venue for my April wedding. The vineyard was absolutely stunning, Wendi is incredibly helpful, communicative, and easy to work with.The big trees around the venue provide such lovely shade during the day and the lights at night really made it something special. I am so glad that I chose this for my venue, I received so many compliments and all of my guests loved taking pictures in the vineyard. It was beautiful without needing a ton of extra decorations, and all the photos turned out absolutely stunning. The bar tenders were wonderful, the sangria to die for (a huge hit), and the chapel was just so cute. I really can't talk enough about how much I love this venue, it really made my perfect day something special. read more

This is one of the best venues for a wedding in San Angelo. The chapel, vineyard and overall property is very nice. Great wine variates from France, Spain and Italy. The grounds are breathtaking, a Tuscan feel with native Texas pecan trees sweeping the estate. The owner was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining the art of wine making in West Texas to us. It was very educational and informative. Buddy of mine and I decided it wasn't too scorching hot to spend the afternoon outside, so we took a short drive over to do a wine tasting. What I didn't expect was to get one glass to try 6, back to back. That experience alone lasted about 4 minutes. I don't need 6 glasses, but I would've liked to have taken my time with each taste. And it would've been nice if the whites/sparkling I had was chilled. It's Texas, I get it, so it WAS more cold than it was warm. We quickly decided to share a bottle of red, while I had a different red by the glass. We shared the cheese and meats platter outside. Also was given complimentary bottles of water. Free is for me. The selection of meats and cheese were not that impressive. Standard. Ritz crackers maybe. Grapes. Olives. But I was enjoying the wine and view. After finishing our snacks, we decided to take a walk. Bottle in hand, under the sun, through the vines. They were setting up a wedding, and apparently the guests had "pinterested" some DIY's into the scenery. Super cute! It was great to see a venue allowing their guests to personalize their special day. Anyways, would definitely come back with a small group just to share a few bottles of red. read more

Charming winery nestled between the South Concho River and a 150 year old irrigation system engineered by the earliest European settlers to farm the region. The winery features an array of wines to fit many tastes. For me the reds are outstanding - in particular their Montepulciano, the outstanding Odyssey red blend, as well as Pletit Sirah and a Tempranillo. The Christoval Winery is a pretty unique place within a 15 minute drive from San Angelo. The setting is picturesque, growing out of the desert scrub of West Texas, the winery is a welcoming oasis, especially during the scorching summer months. The wine itself is shockingly good, especially- sorry it had to come out- since this is West Texas. Contributing to this is that a large amount of the grapes are actually imported from California, lending the wines to have a much higher quality when compared to other Texan wines. There are sections of the vineyard that are used in the Christoval wines and it is expanding to make up more of a percentage of their wines. The actual tasting is one of the best values out there, and for 10$ you can sample a majority of their wines as well as keep an etched wine glass. I would also highly recommend the meat and cheese platter to go with your sampling. From my sampling I'd highly recommend trying the Tempranillo, Viognier and the Angelo Red. Don't want to ruin the experience for you, but the tempranillo has a very interesting after taste (~2-3 seconds after you drink it). The Viognier is a perfect, crisp, white wine for the summer. The Angelo red is a really interesting combination of the three red wines. Just my thoughts and my taste preferences, try it for yourself and you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend visiting the winery for a tasting considering how close it is to San Angelo, and how unique an experience it is. You'll instantly be transported to a Mediterranean oasis for the duration of your visit. read more

I visited the winery on the suggestion of my GF who lives in San Angelo. I was not disappointed in the tasting room or the bottle of wine I bought. I even signed up for the wine club to get 4 bottles a couple of times a year. The wine was on par with any I'd had in Fredricksburg or even California (and I lived an hour south of Napa, so I think I know a great wine when I sip it). We had a great conversation with the Tasting Room Manager about Texas wines, the origin of the grapes (mostly west of Lubbock) and other wineries in Texas that are very good. If you are in the area and have some free time, visit the tasting room. It's a wonderful time. read more

Probably the best venue in Texas, the vineyard is well-maintained, with parking under old shade trees. The tasting room is spacious, and the live music the day we were there was excellent. As for the wines, well, some people may like them, but they seemed a bit green/young. Some, such as the vermentino, were thin and somewhat weak. Most were estate grown, which is a nice touch. The venue is pretty and there's a quaint chapel on the grounds. We thought the wine was somewhat above average for Texas wines, however it's a little pricey considering the service was poor at best. My wife & I would have enjoyed making this a regular stop when we visit San Angelo. Unfortunately we will not be returning - while we were sitting on the patio, we overheard two of the servers using vulgar language. No one offered to serve us another glass of wine. There were only a handful of people inside the winery and we saw the employees coming in and out with cell phones in hand, but no one ever stopped at our table. Step up your management and offer great service to compliment your beautiful surroundings and decent Texas wines. read more
