ZERO RATING I almost CALLED THE POLICE because I was terrified from the reaction KARINA and a man had to me not liking the extensions and wanting them to be taken out. She called me a RICH B**CH and said I was complaining because I was a DUMB B**CH and that this was BULLSH*T. I was IN SHOCK and scared because I was at HER HOUSE ( She had asked to do my extensions at her house and I reluctantly agreed.) Then the Man who was at her house came over and started yelling at me too. This is when I texted my friend my location in case something happened. The guy was yelling that I should have said that I didn't like it sooner. I told him that there was NO MIRROR for me to look at. She only let me look in the bathroom mirror after she was done!!!! I had a consultation with KARINA. I showed her exactly what I wanted and the placement. She assured me she knew what she was doing so I trusted her. I let her do it without me being able to see and it was a DISASTER but the handling of it was even worse. They wanted me to pay 500 dollars for the hair which I had no use for anymore and 80 dollars to take them out! Absolutely not I said. After going back and forth the man must have told her in a different language to take them out bc she immediately GRABBED my head and yanked my hair back. I yelled out and the man said something to her which made her let go. I was in pain for 45 minutes as she aggressively and purposely pulled my extensions out harder and rougher than she needed to. She even grabbed my face and turned it to the right FORCEFULLY. You guys have no idea how crazy this was. I am still MORTIFIED. NEVER GO TO THIS SALON. Kim did my nails. She was attentive and took her time. Kim has an amazing attitude and is a good asset to Chroma. She did NOT hurt me and as all you ladies know there are many nail techs that treat customers as just another number drilling too low causing cuts and bleeding. Full set of nails is $30.00 which is reasonably priced for a location downtown. Dawn the owner is attentive, respectful, kind hearted and just a pleasure to be around. The staff members were all friendly and welcoming. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority at Chroma. Dawn and her staff clearly ensure a clean environment. Hair cuts are $52.00 Eye brow's waxing $25.00 The only downer to this salon is the off street parking but the good news is Dawn keeps the shop stocked with change so you are able to feed the meters. I was looking for a place that was local and that I could schedule an appointment to get a new look. I had an idea for a huge hair make over and after visiting Chroma came out with an exceptional new look. Silvana took me in, listened to my idea, looked at a pic and went to work. I feel she was just as excited as I was. Spending time and giving Silvana full run, I came out on top! Everyone continues to comment how much the new look has taken 10 years off my age. I went here a couple of days ago. Karina was a good stylist but she charged me full price for 10 minutes of curling my hair instead of giving me a discount since I did not get the wash because of timing. I got charged only $5 less than my friend who she had spent 30 minutes on for full service. As soon as my friend and I walked out of the salon, we got caught in a tropical storm and both of our blowouts were completely ruined. The weather is out of their control, but you would think that they would offer the courtesy of redoing it for us for free or at a deep discount. They only offered $10 off the regular price for the next round and they did not want to differentiate in price between my friend with long thick hair and me with shoulder length fine hair (and given that I had paid full price the day before for a 10 minute service.) It is the principle of the matter. Even $5 more off would have shown their willingness to make things right, but they refused. Their minimal understanding and generosity cost them my future business. read more

So my first experience here was not so favorable. I came in to get my nails done before the Thanksgiving holiday. Friendly front desk and I did not have to wait. I had walked everywhere for an open slot. The Nail tech did not speak English at all or very little. Difficult to communicate with. So the bad thing is I got cut pretty badly on my pinky finger. It bled and burned. She put some kind of ointment on it and did not apologize. "Bad day" was the response. I am not sure if she was saying she was or she was telling me I was having one. Nails were ok after finally finding the right nude color. I did get a discount. Front desk lady is great! Finger hurt for a long while after. I stopped in today after again walking around town looking for an opening to cut my hair. No problems walking in here! I decided to give them a 2nd try. Immediately I was able to get my hair cut by a wonderful lady named Gina. Communicated very well with me and I love my hair! Thanks!!!! So she raised the rating. Nice open salon concept! read more

This is the most volume my hair has ever had. She turned me around in that chair and I felt like a million bucks. Just AMAZING. Next time I have to take before and afters. This is my new spot. I don't even want to try another place after going to her. She knows what she is doing and how to create volume in long, fine hair. I went to Kim today for a manicure with nail art and couldn't have been more pleased. I've been to some of the best nail techs in the world and she didn't disappoint at all. She was sweet, really personable, took great care of my nails and was great to work with on a creative level - I came in with some ideas and we brainstormed and found some awesome solutions. And the best part is it was about $100 less than I'm used to paying for 3d nail art. I can't recommend Kim more, and the rest of the staff at the salon were über pleasant too. But be careful! You have to tip in cash! If you need nail art in WPB then Kim is your girl. read more

Awful! Purchased a Groupon for a mani-pedi and will never go back! Nail tech butchered my cuticles and cut me with the nail file. She used such a heavy grade file, the kind for acrylic nails, on my natural nails and toes that it sliced into my skin along the nail. The lotin/scub burned my skin! There are nail polish marks around the skin...sloppy! The next day the polish had already begun to chip off my toes. The finish is uneven and has bubbles. $30 down the drain and painful. The store may be chic, but the nail technician's children were loudly watching cartoons while laying on the floor in the middle of the salon. One other tech was with a client and could clearly be heard stating that she rarely had more than two clients a day. Neither of these women had bothered to do their own hair or make up. A oily headed, unmade up, not manicured technician does not invite clients to return. read more

I was going the same stylist for 5 years and was not feeling satisfied. I Listened to a friends recommendation and I could not be happier! Thalia is amazing!!! She listened to what I wanted and helped me achieve the color I had been trying to achieve for years! I can not stop looking in the mirror, I am so happy with the results! went to Julio for a cut, and I wanted a chunky side bang. I ended up with literally a front mullet!! He took all the hair in the crown of my head and cut it into a thick bang. they stretch out back past my ears! this was in October, and Im still pinning them back! Its been a horrible experience and I will never go back to him or recommend him to anyone ever again! how hard is it to cut a side bang?? And I even showed him a picture! Big Fail!! These bangs are going to take me at least a year to grow out to look decent again! Im pissed off every time I go to fix my hair! I went for a mani/pedi and a hair cut. The mani and pedi were okay but the hair deal was a fiasco. After she washed my hair she proceeded to dry it before cutting. Now I have had a cut dry before so I didn't think much of it. Then she started to roll my hair to style it. I interrupted and asked if she was going to cut my hair and she nodded. But no, she proceeded to roll my hair completely then pulled them out and said "do you like it?". She didn't cut my hair! Then she acted like she had no idea and proceeded to just cut my hair dry. It must be that my star was in eclipse that I stumbled into this facility. Having read some of the reviews on yelp, I wanted to check out myself. I am a senior citizen male wanted to get some color in the hair but not entirely cover my skull with dark hair. My greeting was normal business like. I was assigned to Jackie by the supervisor Sulvania. I explained to both of them what I wanted. Jackie went to work on me. Halfway I realized that I was getting big patches of dye and grey hair, at which point I asked Sulvania to intervene, both of them talked and work continued. I pointed out that no color was applied to my eyebrows which were showing up more now in contrast. After hair wash and trim I looked strange,character from horror movie,a clown ! My wife had a good laugh. I paid $100+20 and left quietly.( on their website was quoted $65).Now I have to go to another facility for corrective measures-more expense! Moral of my story, they are clueless about coloring absolutely no aesthetic sense.What a horrible experience ! read more

The owner wasn't entirely honest about my hair extensions.... When I walked in on a Saturday afternoon inquiring about hair extensions, I was the only customer in the salon. The owner did her best to thoroughly convince me that the Brazilian tape on extensions will last 2-3 months. I paid around $900 to get them done and also picked up a bottle of expensive shampoo and conditioner to care for my new hair. At first, it was a lot of fun-- easy to wash, blow dry and brush. Lot's of fun selfies were taken that first week. By week 4 I've noticed that the extensions began to tangle and were harder and harder to maintain. They started to feel very dry and freeze and 3 of them came out. At the end of week 5 I washed my hair with the product that I purchased at the salon (which, for the record, was the only thing I was washing my hair with since day 1) but when I tried brushing after the shower, the right- hand side of my head turned into one giant Marley dread! I didn't do anything differently, but somehow it happened. I tried separating the extensions and brushing them out for an hour but finally gave up and ended up hiding that big ball of hair in a ponytail going to work the next morning. Needless to say, I went back to the salon to take care of the situation. It was 5 pm on a Friday afternoon, time when most of the salons downtown are super-busy with appointments, there was no one at Chroma. Again, I was the only customer. The owner said that she has never seen anything like the Marley dread i presented to her and politely mentioned I should have taken a better care of my extensions, considering that my own hair is not that thick. She and her assistant spent and hour pulling my hair and dissolving the adhesive to remove the extensions. At the end, I could feel the leftover glue still, which I am pretty sure damaged my hair. They washed and blow dried my hair saying that service was included in the removal price (which I assumed was the original $900 I paid for the type one- haha silly me) They charged additional $95 for the removal, which wasn't even mentioned at the beginning. So if you do the math, 4-5 weeks of banging hair is not really worth $1k I ended up paying. If I had known what I do now, I wouldn't even consider getting these extensions done at Chroma, where the owner didn't even bother disclosing the quality of the materials she used and all the fees that I ended up paying. I went to Julio Aristy at Chroma on a groupon, and I am very pleased. He is very personable, so no awkward stretches of silence while he was doing my hair. When we chatted, I didn't feel that fake-y vibe you get from some stylists. I had a partial highlight and cut/blow dry deal for only $55! The color was absolutely beautiful. He blended the new highlights really well, so there were no "shadows" to the color. The cut wasn't exactly as I wanted, but it still was quite pretty. The fault, quite possibly, may have been in my explanation. Parking was a bit of a pain; the metered parking is only allowed for 2 hours - then you MUST move your car, not just feed the meter. Anyone who's had highlights, knows it takes more than two hours. The only other option is a $5.50 lot across the street. It irks me to pay for that, but I did and it worked out fine. My hair stylist just moved to this wonderful, clean and super friendly boutique style salon and spa and I loved it! Although the salon/spa has been in the area for awhile, it is under new ownership and I now highly recommend Chroma for all your salon/spa needs. Ask for Alicia Green for your hair...I'd follow her anywhere...yes, she's that good!!!! After Alicia finished my gorgeous highlights, I decided to try the spa services and got a pedicure from Maria who was super! She took great care of me....didn't hurry...and my pedicure looks great! Outsanding service by my hair dresser! But im disappointed in the automated answering service the salon has. Everytime i call i have been put on hold & prompted to press numbers & the service doesnt work. I think this is unprofessional, & needs to addressed right away. Who wants to call a very upscale salon & be put on hold? I had to call several times in order to make an appointment. Next time ill just call another salon.
