I love to always start my vacation with SUP Yoga especially when we travel to Hawaii. This wasn't…read moremy first time but it was my niece's first SUP Yoga. She's taken SUP classes before and Yoga on land but this was her first time putting it all together. We were very fortunate to have Nichole as our instructor! She started with SUP 101 on land, then we hit the water and paddled a few minutes to a calm area. Once we arrived at our spot ("floating studio") we began our Yoga session. Nichole's zen vibe and connection to the sea and land made it a memorable experience. My favorite part were the words/mantra that she choose during Savanna that left me feeling connected. OH! and bonus were all the animals we saw... 2 Seals, a few turtles, dolphin and as the locals call them... "Sherbet and Herbert". Sup in the ocean is hard. I love how Jessie was in tune with the group's ability and pushed us yet it wasn't daunting. 1/2 the group had never done sup and I never felt like anything we tried was too tough or dangerous. We did a lot of sitting postures and then moved onto standing postures which were HARD. If you are looking for a strength workout and something adventurous and different give sup yoga a try! So fun!
