I am extremely disappointed at the lack of sensitivity from the school at this time during the Covid 19 pandemic. The school hasn't been sensitive to the financial constraints parents are facing. Sugar Creek Montessori has not adjusted the tuition for the time the school has been closed (two weeks now). They have charged parents for the normal curriculum which includes full time staff and materials but are only providing "ONLINE TEACHING" which should be offered at a discount. Some of us are out of work or have reduced incomes. Others are trying to manage the demands of working from home while taking care of our kids. I've sent multiple emails regarding a refund or at least a credit and all I get is a generic response "Thank you for your feedback". I have tried calling, but I of course do not get an answer. Understand, I am not giving you my feedback I need an answer! Your policy is "NO PRORATION FOR SICKNESS AND/OR VACATION", however, this is not a vacation, this is an unfortunate situation the world has encountered so all I am asking for is for fairness and my tuition to be valued at the product I am getting or lack of product to be honest. My child has been at this school for 2 years now and has enjoyed his time there. His teachers are great and he loves them very much. We have never had any issues prior to this situation, but at this point I feel the need to complain and voice my frustration with the administration. I have called around to check other schools policies and I am astonished to find out that 2 owners of two well known Montessori schools are discounting the tuition due to this pandemic situation without hesitation. I would hope that your school or should I say our school would be one of the local schools to acknowledge the services being rendered do not warrant the tuition fees we paid during the month of March. As of now, parents have been told April tuition will be charged once the school figures out how to offer an "off-site curriculum". Which once again leaves an uncertainty of the fees we will pay for a video to homeschool our child.

He was in Transition 1 with the most incredible teachers (Ms Lina & Ms Maya) whom he loved. The problem was he wasn't learning anything new and began to regress being with the younger kids. He was too advanced academically for Transition but when I asked for him to move up to Primary they wouldn't because he wasn't "fully potty trained". Fully potty trained for them meant needing ZERO assistance in the restroom. Well he's 3! He can do everything he just needs help with cleaning himself when he poops. As most 3 year old do. After NUMEROUS exhausting conversations and emails with the Director, teacher in Primary 1 and team there they were ALL adamant that he must be fully potty trained needing no assistance. The primary teacher was set she could/would not help him. Which meant if my 3 year old son didn't clean himself good or at all when pooped no one would know and he would be LEFT TO SIT IN HIS FECES. They only helped with obvious accidents. I couldn't imagine letting any child in my care walk around like that. It's neglect! Ms Lina in Transition 1 volunteered to come help if he needed it but to no avail. So the "best" they would do is let him visit the Primary class 2 hours a day. Which wasn't good enough because even though he enjoyed it, he didn't get the full experience to grow since he still had to be with the 1-2 year olds. So $20,000+ later we withdrew him because leaving him with the babies majority of the day to continue to regress wasn't an option. After a year there instead of growing as advertised and expected he started baby talking at home. This is a kid who knows all 50 states AND their capitals. Can write his name and has a photogenic memory. He was reciting his alphabet and counting to 20 at 15 months. And reading full sentences by 2.5 years old. All of this from what we do with him AT HOME. NOT from anything at HGM. We expected him to excel there. After all it's Montessori and supposed to be the best. In December 2023 I found out only 1-2 of the Primary teachers are actually Montessori certified. Shouldn't they all be since that's supposed to be the foundation for the school? I also found out other parents had the same issue with neglecting them in the restroom and withdrew their kids as well. There should be some checks and balances in place and a teacher assigned to ensure kids aren't sitting around in their feces all day. Disgusting. All in all we had a very expensive babysitter. Not the academic excellence we expected and paid for. Nice facility. Amazing teachers in Transition 1 who did the max they could. He became more social and exposed to soccer and taekwondo which he excelled at. He still gets to do them so he's not missing out socially. He learned more at home and has been very persistent with telling us he doesn't want to go back. We may consider other schools in the area who have better systems in place later. After 2.5 weeks of my 19 month old son being at BellaVision, we pulled him out and moved him to another daycare. Within those 2.5 weeks, we experienced a lack of communication with only receiving 5 pictures (of only him eating) and 1 daily report. The daily report was very generic as it said "He smiled today", "He played well with others", but nothing actually personal or important information. I spoke with the new daycare that we moved him to and they mentioned that it is a law that the diaper information, meals, and other items are mandatory to provide. Unfortunately, I received nothing. I have also reached out via chat in the app asking for a schedule of the day so that I can know what is going on and I never received a response. Something else that concerned me was that there was not anyone at the front desk when I would drop my son off in the morning around 7am. To me, that is very discouraging because it shows a lack of security and availability for me to contact anyone when I have questions and just the security of someone watching who is coming and out of the building. I understand that there is a code to get into the school rooms, but it still concerns me. Another instance that is concerning, when my son first started, I provided a full box of size 5 pampers diapers along with the other necessary items. I had him come home two days in a row with a smaller size diaper on and in a different brand. I talked with Mona,the director, and we discovered that they were not using the diapers I provided and found the full box of diapers that I provided in the bottom of the closet. I understand that there is not a teacher in that room because they were abruptly either fired or the person left the company, but I am trusting that my son is being taken care of while he is there and unfortunately I don't believe he received the best care. Another instance, one afternoon I tried calling BellaVision and received a voicemail to describe what I was calling about. It then forwarded my call to Mona's, the director, personal cell phone and her response was understanding to my concern but told me that I should try calling the school. When I told her that this is the school number I called, she was confused as to how I got her personal number. All that to say, I don't like that I am unable to get in contact with someone physically at the daycare when I have a concern. When I went to the director to tell her my concerns and wanted to know if I could speak to her manager or someone above her, she told me that the owner is out of the country and you can try and email them at the same school provided email that all communication goes out of. I emailed the director all of my concerns and have yet to hear back. That was over a week ago. It is concerning that there is no one else that I can talk with other than the school director. If they keep this behavior up, I don't see how they will stay in business. At the end of the day, I have a 19 month old son who cannot communicate what is going on in the classroom and I have to do what is best with what I am seeing. When I let Mona know that this will be my son's last week at BellaVision, she was understanding to listen to my concerns and asked me to hang in there as she will move my son to a new classroom. I wish that this would have been brought to my attention sooner and more proactive behavior, but it is too late and we are not pleased with the care and lack of communication we are receiving. I would love to talk to the owner if they would ever return any of my 3 emails. Update, I took my son to a new daycare and within the first day received multiple pictures of him being active, smiling, having fun, and daily reports as to diaper changes, activities, eating snacks, breaks, lunch, etc. The communication at the new daycare has been amazing!!!
