Bottom line. They charged me $698.72. The average to have the work done at a dealer or independent shops runs about $417.88. Math says i was easily overcharged $280.84 at Mobile Medics !! The part cost $150.00 at the dealership not $257.66. 'Shop Rates' (labor) are $170.00 not $260.00. They charged me $15.00 for 'shop supplies. What shop supplies did they use ? They charged me $15.00 for 'EPA/waste removal.. I took the old part home with me ! Sub total was $647.66!! if i paid cash it would have been $659.17. $12.00 more if I paid cash ? if I paid with a CC it was $698.72. $51.00 more if i used a credit card?! That doesn't even make sense!! They never offered a senior discount when I was at the counter to pay. The never offered a Veterans discount when I was at the counter to pay. I can't believe how surprised we were and how relieved we were, I'm sure they thought they were just doing their job but it meant much more to us than that. After having dinner and discussing what happened, we decided to stay in Show Low for the evening so we could bring them pizza first thing in the morning. We were stranded for hours in a dangerous spot with heavy semi traffic. Tragically, a motorist checking his own blown tire from maybe the same pothole, was fatally struck by a semi at the same location shortly after (around 2:30 AM) while checking his own tire. Black older SUV. All other details are very graphic. My heart goes out to his family! The team at Future Tires got us back on the road , after a long night, safely with a temporary tire when no one else could help. I would recommend, and I do plan to go back again, but here is why: Even though they did not have my rim, or get my rim, the man came out happily to measure my lugs and rim, another gentleman came out by the first ones request to re-examine my wheels in hopes he could help... no did not toss me off to someone else, got someone else to help us, to help me! Looked at a wheel I had bought else where, measured and explained the differences, so I know I can't use it safely (as I would have bought a spacer and wasted my money!). So even though, they could not sell me something, they went the extra extra mile trying to help me find a solution... I don't remember if it was quite two decades of experience he had working for international mechanic before he opened his shop, but it was quite a few years to be sure. Shawn is a friendly owner operator of the shop who specializes in big truck diesel engine repair. This isn't the shop to bring your Prius for new batteries, but if you have a big truck with a diesel engine this could be the guy for you. I have found Sean to be far more friendly and honest than dealing with most of the dealers in the area. When it comes to getting things done the only bummer can be that since he's only a two man shop he can get a little bit behind it it might take a little while to get your vehicle done, but it's probably worth the wait since I don't think he's actually trying to rip anybody off. Stop by and give Shawn a try, it will definitely be better than most of the other shops in the area.
