Very disappointing experience. I brought in silver expecting a fair, transparent offer based on current spot prices. Instead, I was quoted well under spot value with no clear explanation or breakdown of how the number was calculated. When I asked how they arrived at the offer, the response was vague and dismissive, as if I should simply accept it without question. There was no discussion of weight, purity, fees, or market conditions, just a lowball number and pressure to take it or leave it. I understand shops need to make a profit, but paying significantly under spot without honesty or professionalism feels predatory, especially toward customers who may not be experts. Trust is critical in a coin shop, and this experience seriously lacked it. I won't be going there again, and I'd advise others to know their spot prices and shop around before accepting an offer from this place. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I called to ask a question, before i could get it out he said he didn't have time and hung up on me. (Who does that to a potential customer?!) I waited 20 minutes & called back. I asked if there was a particular ring fitting a certain description I wanted to buy it - he wouldn't even let me describe the ring. He was SO RUDE!!! He set the phone down, walked away (I could still hear him talking to another person) then came back & hung up on me again!!! Still shaking my head. Unbelievable. read more

Won't let you in to see things and possibly make a purchase. Guy was kind of a prick. Maybe if you advertise on the radio, tell potential patrons they can't come in the store. Also, maybe try not to be such a dick about it. Especially to someone who is potentially will to give money and business. My advice to all, just don't go here. I had a very unpleasant experience with these people today. I don't think the owner likes what he does for a living, so maybe he should just sell the store and retire. We just wanted the current price on some gold coins based on a list only because the coins are at my brother's house in Georgia right now. I had the coin rating right on the list, but he felt it necessary to go off on a rant about how my 85 yr old mom had overpaid for them, who had graded them, how could he give me an accurate price when he didn't know if the grade was accurate, blah blah blah. I finally told him he was frustrating the daylights out of me and let's just assume the grade is accurate. He finally gave me a price, but I would never sell them to him if he was the last coin store on earth. My mom also had brought a necklace from the 1930s or 1940s, and all she wanted to do was have him appraise it and tell her if it was sterling silver or not. She didn't even get two words out of her mouth before he waved his arm at it and said that's not worth anything. It's one of her most prized possessions. There was no reason for him to be so rude when he didn't even know what she wanted. This guy cheated me on Ebay and lied about issuing me a full refund and reimbursing for return shipping for an item that was SUPPOSED to be an antique gold filled piece. He then kept 15% and would not pay for return shipping. He was rude and lied and Ebay is investigating his practices. It's shocking that he either doesn't know the difference between gold colored metal and gold-filled- or is simply unethical.....or perhaps it's both. He definitely treated me the latter way. I'm a professional jeweler than specializes in antique jewelry and I tested this piece to confirm what I saw when I opened the box. It was obvious to me even without testing, so I have my doubts he even tested it before putting it up for sale. I would really avoid this guy - he will say anything to get you to send it back and then will not keep his word. This is not the way to treat customers - but he doesn't seem to care. ** UPDATE: I have now received numerous harassing messages from Chuck, initially on Ebay, and when they issued a warning to him there, he came here to Yelp to try and harass and bully me, and now he has gone to Facebook - leaving nasty and profane comments for 2 years worth of photos. He's also now sent 15 profane messages in Etsy, including three threatening ones if I don't take my Yelp review down. He has now also sent a brief message with just my place of business listed - trying to intimidate me. Law Enforcement is now involved. I've left factual information in my review and have his written responses/documentation to back it up - please be cautious dealing with this person. If my reviews help even one person avoid what I have experienced than it was worth it! (he also keeps writing and posting reviews of his own business, which Yelp eventually removes.) read more

Chuck and his help give you fair market value for metals as well as an app for that or the Internet. But as far as jewelry goes he sells and buys classics and the reason to go to Beautiful Downtown Wadsworth. Just because it's special to you (or your grandmother) doesn't mean Chuck can sell it, at all, for anything! He has stuff I haven't seen since my great grandmother. Stuff my mother is holding on to, for my wife she says. Chuck is the Rolex King. He can get most any Rolex below market. Amazing, wish I could get more! read more

We were robbed in June of last year. i was told by the man that robbed us my things were at Chuck's Pawn Shop. When i went in, I saw one of the platinum rings. i also saw a picture of two of the charms from the necklace that had been stolen. (he conveniently took a picture of the back of one charm and a picture of a very small East Ohio Gas charm to cover his butt with the police. He refused to help me, said to take it up with Wadsworth police, and threw me out of the store. Keep in mind, I posed no threat to him other than asking to see the ring. Surprisingly, the next visit, the one ring(of many, including a gold necklace full of personal charms that should have been obvious possessed irreplaceable family history, were immediately melted down. I hold this business to blame as much as the addict that stole all my family's jewelry. In my opinion, they run an entirely dishonest business, and pretend to work with wadsworth police to cover their improprieties. If you're robbed, check them immediately. The sad caveat is that you probably will still not recover your irreplaceable jewelry. Apparently, businesses such as these only hold things three days before melting them down. One of the robbers is in jail, but, in my opinion, the true enabler are pawn shops such as these. read more
