I went later on a Sunday evening and took a bit to be seated. I was handed a menu and told they would be right back. I left 15 minutes later having received NO SERVICE, not even a glass of water. I have complained to head office, 2 feedback responses on their website and a follow up email a week later. Over the last 3 weeks with their only response was to ask for a receipt and told they would expedite my query. OBVIOUSLY, they failed to actually read my complaint to understand that one does not have a receipt when one couldn't even place a drink order let alone a food order. I was told that people in the area actually travel to another location for service. Frankly, as I again stated to the customer service person I spoke to at their Head Office that this is truly an indication of their total lack of customer service. This was my first time to this location of Chuck's. I have been to their other locations in the GTA and this stood out. This location is under a new management who personally take care of their customers and ensure to provide a good customer experience. The food was delicious and was very reasonably priced (Might I add that beer is really chilled and cheap too). Kudos to our server, Kylie, who took care of our needs with a smile through out, even though we were a big group. I whole heartedly recommend this place and am definitely going to revisit, even though it is a bit far from my residence (and have a location closer where the food is not as delicious as this place). I had lunch today at Chuck's Roadhouse Bar and Grill ... they opened about five weeks ago. I ordered the roast beef dinner. I asked Lina, my server, about it and she said it was freshly made so how could I resist?! I'm glad I got it as it was delicious! The roast was tender, the mashed potatoes seemed home-made and the gravy was good. The corn was was the weakest part as it was a bit soggy ... maybe replace it with frozen peas? I'd get this again. I have issues on so many levels with place. My mom lives nearby and she said they had opened that week. My mom, my cousin and I went for dinner. The banner outside says: $20 steak dinners. They have a push button for accessibility and that's where it ends. The washroom was too far and not accessible for my mom and her walker. I did not read the menu from front to back. I went to the steak section and chose from there. You can add a lobster tail for a few extra bucks. The server came to take our order. For each of us she asked if we wanted mushrooms and onions, if we wanted our baked potatoes to be fully loaded and goes on her way. The food comes bit by bit, the plates of mushrooms and onions were way to much for each steak, we could have easily shared one plate amongst us. The lobster tails were over cooked. They were dry and chewy. The steak was not cooked well enough for my cousin and cooked too well for my mom. The potatoes were not hot. A manager came by to ask us how things were, we told him the above mentioned. His response was that this was their first week open and they were working out the kinks. I said but if you hired experienced chefs/cooks then the food shouldn't be coming out like this. Where's the quality control before it leaves the kitchen? He did not offer us any compensation. Then I get the bill. Holy mother of God! They charged $3.69 for each plate of mushrooms and onions, never told us it was an additional charge. They charged $1.29 (ish) for each upgraded potato to fully loaded, never told us that there was an additional charge. Now here's the kick in your face!! They charge an extra 15% on the whole bill, I forget what she called, but it's to keep their prices low!! What?! So the $20 steak dinner isn't $20 when you're charging an extra 15% on my overall bill!! That is sneaky as $hit!!! She pulls out the drink/dessert menu to show us the blurb on this. We didn't order cocktails or dessert so we never looked at that menu! Shady AF!!! So what I thought was going to be about a $100 bill ended up being $140 before tip. TIPS: To Insure Proper Service. They didn't!! She barely checked on us, I think once actually cuz we ended up talking to other staff. Prices not as advertised, ie: the add-one. No compensation for poor food. Server: 0-0 Barley got checked on, we were in a rush for a tattoo appointment, we asked for the bill took 25 min to get that and 20 min to get the bill. I was going to pay at the bar at a point but when I checked their was no one at the bar and not server and not host NOTHING! For about 7 minutes, they were all gone I couldn't believe it! Great food and great customer service. It has become my preferred place and location. It's got a big screen tv to watch sports games. Kylie is the best server and best person ever. Returned it and it was returned to me after everyone else was done eating. They forgot the Lobster on my husband's order. Two different people came by to apologize. He never received the Lobster. I did get my Lobster, but could hardly see it on my plate, so very small. The mozzarella sticks were so over cooked, they had no cheese in them. Had to return those too. The manager came over to say he as taking the Lobster off the bill. I should think so, since my husband never did receive it!! However, the Lobster was $ 4.00. So thanks for the discount guys!!! I wasnt going to rate this restaurant from our experience a week and a half ago, but have since changed my mind. We were told by the manager that because his kitchen staff is ALL new, we had to wait over an hour for our food, everyone's vegetables were cold, the steak was gristley and tough. Tables around us were getting up and leaving. I just read a post on one of my friends Facebook, pretty much had the exact same experience just last night. Thanks Chucks Roadhouse in cambridge for leaving me without a dinner because your manager is a joke that doesn't know what a rare steak looks like. I sent back the steak that was between well done and medium well. The "managee" comes back with her little picture book to show me what a rare steak looks like.... the picture does not match my steak. Not even close. I tell her it's tough and dry and she refuses to replace the steak continuing to show me her pictures... she informs me that between the time my steak was brought out to me and the time that I spent eating half a small caesar salad my steak had magically continued to cook itself past rare to the state it was in at that time..... wow.... really.... We asked for our bill after her showing her little picture book in my face numerous times. She charges us for my steak. I said really you're going to have me pay for that dried hunk of shit. She said she tried to reason with me.... no she told me my steak was fine. So upon paying the full price I took her little picture book and stredded it across the table. Went out tonight to try out a new restaurant in town. We decided to go before the dinner rush. (4:30) Waitress was quick to take order. We started with deep fried pickles for app. I ordered the nachos with bbq chicken..no cheese sauce. ( hate that fake cheese on my nachos) My boyfriend order steak and lobster tail. After approx 45min wait ( not bad not great) My nachos came with the dam cheese whiz sauce all over them and my boyfriends plate came without the lobster tail! After a few min I was able to flag down our waitress to say we are missing half hour meal and I did not want cheese whiz on my nachos. For my boyfriend she said she will put in an order for the lobster tail but she did write it down..that was a special on their menu..everyone was ordering it..how can you not notice half the meal not on your plate? Lol For my plate I got oh sorry I specifically wrote down " no cheese sauce" didnt offer to make a new order, nothing..that's usually the first thing they say.. Not that I wanted to wait another 45 min for nachos..when she came back with the bill she asked if I wanted to take the rest home? I said "no thank you I ate around the cheese sauce." Come here a few times and it's been pretty decent, this time was just absolutely horrible. It took 10 minutes before the waitress even came to our table for drinks and give us menus and another 10 minutes to take our orders. By the time the food came we were already in the restaurant sitting for an hour and let me tell you the food was HORRIBLE. We were greeted at the door by the hostess. She lets us choose our seats, as we got there just before the Friday night rush. Our server arrived within 3 minutes to take our drink order. She was very friendly and welcoming. Drinks appeared within a few minutes. We placed our food order and were very impressed how our server re-capped what we had ordered ( she turned to each of us while she listed what we had each ordered - nice touch ). My husband had the Porterhouse Steak with fries and the "all you can eat" Caesar Salad. He enjoyed the salad so much he had two servings! Our steaks were cooked exactly as we liked, mine medium, his medium rare. They were seasoned beautifully. Tender and juicy. When I first saw my lobster tail, I was a bit concerned. It had obviously been on the grill. It looked like it would be tough and overcooked. I was wrong! It was tender, juicy and delicious...perfect with the drawn butter. We were both very pleased with our meals. Even the corn was nice! We totally enjoyed our meals and can't wait to go back to try something else on the menu. I just read some previous testimonials and my thinking is consistent. A cold beer is a "cold beer anywhere", but apart from the beer, service was ok, no energy, no enthusiasm, no focus on "customer". I come here on a regular basis and I always enjoy the appy hour menu, sometimes the wait is long but worth it most of the time! I know a lot of people say bad things about this place but it seems that with the new management things are getting better! LADIES THEY HAVE CUTE MALE SERVERS!!!!!!! Honestly they always have big parties and walk ins all night long and those servers are tired by half way through the night cut them some slack, If you know your going to have a party at least make a reservation. You can't complain about bad service if you don't let them know that you're coming, how are they supposed to know how many servers to schedule. Worst experience ever. Our server was very charismatic and did a great job. The kitchen however did not. The loaded fries we sent back came out the same way the second time around, only with a bigger dollop of sour cream. My husband ordered a medium rare steak but it came out very rare. Our server felt bad but the manager could care less. She actually argued with me when I explained our disappointment. She never even apologized. She needs to go back to customer service 101. Our waitress Becky was very sweet. I had ordered a spinach dip as my meal. As soon as we got the food, I asked for a second order of Pita's. After waiting 20 minutes for my new pita's, the owner was circling and asked how our food was. I then explained the situation and she siad she would look into it. She came back and all she said was "the timer on the oven only states they have been in there for 8 minutes. So less then 20 minutes as you said". No apologizes, basically telling me my timing was wrong and i was lying. The waitress then came over again 5 minutes later and apologized and told me the kitchen had burnt my first order (the owner didn't tell me that). I then waited another 10 minutes, for a total of 30 minutes for PITAS!! I asked for my dip to be re warmed as it was ice cold. I was charged the extra free for the PITAS and was not even given my food for free or half off. I will never return to this location in Cambridge. Slow service, an owner who blames the customers and food that wasn't even great. My 2 children and I were also put beside the window, in which we were freezing the entire time we were there. read more

I went to this place last night, the service was ok, however, the food was horrible, they don't even deserve one star, my nachos was cold and soggy, looked like somebody had ordered it before and did not want it and gave it to us with sweet thai chicken on it...never saw nachos with gravy chicken on it, it was disgusting...my beer was warm, when we complained they put my pitcher in the fridge for a while to chill, who does this??? They should have replaced it with other cold pitcher. I'll never ever go there again and don't even recommend any one to try this restaurant out. Disgusting beyond belief. And I will be reporting it to the city inspectors for bad practices. So firstly we were met on Friday evening at 5.30 pm by the girl at the front desk by the door. Asked if we could site outside for our food and drinks after she said there was a wait. Instantly she became almost unresponsive and completely uninterested, grabed the menus and brought us out to a table in the patio, pointed to the table and didnt speak. She then just walked away without even asking would we like a drink or some water while we look at the menu. Then we waited 10 minuted until another server noticed us and asked if we had been served. We said no and she left to send a 3rd person to take the order. So a bad start. Now the food. What to say, I was excited for the 1lb bone in prime rib. Who wouldn't be (if you are a meat eater of course). My wife ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Our food came out and my stake was barely warm, and I mean barely. The corn was ice cold. So obviously had been frozen and not cooked correctly. I told the waiter and he returned the corn. When he returned with it, one side was luke warm and the other still freezing. Then, there is the fries. They are so obviously reheats. And disgusting. So at first I thought they were cooked and left cold and then reheated. You know by texture.You can see it in the photos, they hav gone that hoorible outter shell and vertually no potato left inside. But no, no they are not only reheats, they were off of another persons plate. My wife has a crispy chicken sandwich, which was a premade, pathetic flat piece you buy in the store to cook a home. She asked for no lettuce yet all over her plate were little bits of lettuce that had been through the frier (first give away that they are reusing food from other plates). So that in itself was disgusting. She then found (as can be seen int he photo below) fries it the bottom of her dish with ketchup (where she did not have any sauce) that had been cooked onto them. Which as you can see, was on them before they were cooked for a second time. Then my beer. I ordered a Heiniken, which it was not. It came in a heiniken glass but that was about it. It was also completely flat. I drank it anyway and ordered a second, and this time it was heiniken and was full of gas and had a head on it. So, two completely different beers served. Easy mistake I guess? This restaurant (if you can call it that) should be closed and new management should be brough in to fix it. The chefs / cooks should be ashamed of themselves for not only bad cooking, but for reusing food scraps from other plates. I actually felt sorry for the waiter who clearly knew the food was vile and way below standard. So to recap - Barely luke warm steak, Froozen corn and not cooked proper, Store bought pathetic crispy chickn sandwich, Scraps of lettuce that had obviously been through the frier from other plate (even though lettuce was requested not to be on the plate ) Reheated fries / chips that had been on other plates and reused scraps. Oh, and not to forget, no toilet paper in the womens washrooms, in a restaurant, full of workers, who are supposed to check these things. read more

I am putting a 1 because 0 is not an option. We went to Chuck's Roadhouse for dinner. Prices looked reasonable until you get the bill. My husband got a baked potato instead of fries and was charged an extra $1.59. There was no mention of an extra charge. He got the bbq chicken. It was one real small chicken breast that was sliced in 2. As well there was a tiny burnt piece of corn. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. It is served on a hamburger bun. It took me 3 bites before I got a piece of chicken. The bill comes and on top of the extra charges there is a 3% goodness fee. We asked this woman manager what this was and she said it is here in the book on the table. I don't look at that book. She began to tell us it helps keep the prices down when the price of steaks go up. This is the cost of doing business and should be included in the food. They are very sneaky because you find out about it when you get the bill. As well she said the sandwich only comes with fries there is a charge for upgrade (which should be communicated when ordering). The meal comes with fries so why are they not giving you the fries and then charging you extra for the baked potato. This manager said it is in the menu. I am not sure about anyone else but who reads the entire menu to look for this. She keeps going around to tables asking how everything is but when you get the bill and give her your opinion she just shrugs her shoulders. Had dinner last night with friends at the new Brantford location. It was packed and extremely noisy. We literally had to shout to each other to be heard and that is no exaggeration. I had the BBQ'd chicken while the other two present had a burger and rib dinner. The dinner food was just okay. My chicken was a preformed frozen skinless/boneless breast smothered in Bbq sauce; it wasn't dry but I would have rather had one real chicken breast instead of two fake ones. My grilled corn was a little mushy and the loaded fries were meh. My friend who ordered "the best burger ever" as described by our waitress decided it certainly wasn't the best she had ever had. The ribs were fine. Just a side note- there are very little food dinner options that aren't beef or pork; and I love beef, I just didn't feel like eating it last night. Not even a chicken or turkey burger option. Dessert was a highlight. Chuck's Buckaroo was pretty delicious. For all the roadhouse food locations that serve the Brantford area there is much better food out there for a little more money, and I don't have to shout to be heard. read more

I'm giving this Brantford location a one star because I can't leave it blank. This had to be THE worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my nearly 60 years of life. Where to start. hmmmm Went out after work with 4 other co-workers. The food was disgusting. Myself and another coworker ordered the steak and lobster dinner. They failed to inform us that the lobster was a "baby" lobster. No joke......two bites and the lobster tail was gone. Now let's move onto the steak or what they want us to think is a steak. She wanted hers medium to well. When she got it, it was a chunk of "blackened shoe leather". She was unable to bite into it least of all cut it. It was dry and slid around on her plate. My steak? I ordered a rare steak. I got a "blackened shoe leather" steak too. When I complained about it, the manager tried telling me it was rare. "Really"?, I said. "I was eating steak when you were in diapers. Don't tell me what a rare steak looks like." There was NO pink in it at all. The manager brought another one out to me. Well, by this time......I had already eaten my cold burnt and blackened 1/2 piece of corn on the cob and cold mashed potatoes because I was hungry. The second steak the manager brought out was worse than the first. It was also significantly larger. I asked if this was the same cut. It was, I was told. I questioned it because it was so tough, I couldn't cut it or bite into the chunk of steak. It was dry and hard. Next.......we get our bills. uh, oh.....I noticed a "sneaky charge" on there. It's called, "The Goodness Me Fee". Yep....I'm not making this shit up. I asked the server what this was. The server didn't know. She sent the manager over......again!! I asked the manager what this added, sneaky fee was. The manager fumbled his words and I asked him if he needed more time to think about and answer before getting back to me. He then said, by charging this fee, they are able to keep our prices down!! No joke!! We all began laughing. Well, I pulled out my phone and subtracted the Goodness Me Fee from my total and told the manager this is all he's getting so take it or leave it. Pick one. I also told him they have their nerve even handing me a bill. I told him this is the most expensive dog food I've ever bought. I had my steak(s) boxed up to take home to my dog. The manager then told me he was waiving my bill. I told him he made a very wise decision there, but we still won't be back. Not to mention, the $70 for appetizers that were not acceptable. The girls sent most of them back. The spinach dip looked like an omelette and over salted. Don't order the crab cakes. They are mush and almost made me seriously vomit. They looked like the inside of a baby's used diaper. This review may seem far fetched to you but trust me your experience will be exactly the same. I've read other reviews here and they're all the same. We just can't make this stuff up. This restaurant will NOT last here in Brantford. Go to McDonald's.
