We've been going to The Gravenhurst Chucks since it opened. We have always had friendly service, awesome food, the prices are right. The servers are great and caring. Because it is so popular, it gets really busy and we may have to wait a little longer sometimes, (rarely). AND they continuously clean up after every table is finished. We drove out to the Muskokas and decided to have a bite here and to our surprise there was a beyond meat burger on the menu, and of course I had to order it. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a delicious patty, with a crunch to it, it was pretty unique the way this burger was made (the patty). It was also topped with this rich and creamy dill sauce, what a nice addition to an every day menu item. We also enjoyed the fish and chips. This is one of the most disappointing meals I have ever had. The meal took over an hour to come and it was cold. We spoke to the Manager who was an even bigger issue than the waitress. Do not eat here if you expect a good eating experience. If I could give no stars I would. read more

I don't know why I ignored the reviews about the service... maybe I thought as long as the food is good, do I really care? I did. The place was dirty, I didn't mind waiting to have our table wiped, hopping over a puddle of drink poured all over the floor... but even our menus were covered in crud. Our waitress with the gruff voice was cold and rude, wouldn't crack a smile not even to my 76 year old mother who gets along amazingly with everyone. After we were sitting there for an hour in a half empty restaurant, still nothing to eat... we got up and walked out. I'm sure the proper thing to do would be to tell the waitress we were leaving and I would have but she didn't check on us once in 45 minutes after we ordered. Ruined out evening. I know there's a worker shortage up here in the Muskoka but I think we got the same waitress everyone complains about. I know some think being rude is cool but she's a little old for that routine. Was quite excited when I found a Chuck's roadhouse in Bracebridge but came out disappointed. Service was horrible, took 5 minutes to bring a glas I noticed her holding it at the bar while she yapped to two other patrons then she went to the till and punched in a bunch of stuff then brought the glass. Why some servers assume we drink straight out of the bottle I'll never know. You got the worst customer experience ever. The hostess wouldn't let us have a booth only because we were only a party of three. There were plenty of booths available and she refused to let us switch and only offered a high table by the bar. We had a toddler with us and I am 7 months pregnant, so it was extremely uncomfortable to sit there. If I could give less than 1 star. I would. Food is not even great. Too bad you give such a bad treatment to your patrons. We will never come back. read more

We were trying to find a place later at night in Bracebridge when we found Chuck's Roadhouse and it was a blessing. This was our first time at this restaurant. The prices are nearly unbelievable. I got a 10oz steak and ribs with side for under $18. The only problem I had was that they add 3% to the bill, but still more affordable than anywhere else. I was expecting discounted food, but the steak was decent, the fries were great and the ribs among the best I have ever had. Yes I'm a fan. Food is good. Prices have increased but so has my grocery bill. It's the service that needs attention. I was tempted not even to leave a tip but that's against my principal as I'm in the hospitality industry. My husband and I would have drank a lot more had the server come back a few times. After she took our drink and food order, never saw her again until we flagged someone down for our bill. We will go back but if said server is serving, we will head to another area where she isn't. read more

Horrible waiter! Friday night My boyfriend paid the bill, and I was going to leave a tip for the waiter we had. But before we left my boyfriend wanted to have another beer. So he nicely asked the waiter for another one, the waiter turned around and said "if you can't afford to tip then you shouldn't drink" CLEARLY the waiter didn't see the $20 tip that I was going to leave for him!! Second year in a row we have frequented this establishment. Love that it hasn't changed one bit. Friendly atmosphere, good food at great prices, staff cheerful and helpful. Shoutout to Ayla who took care of us both nights, always quick with a joke, was interested in what we did that day and I think she gave the kitchen staff a kick when our meals took a bit longer on our second visit this week. tues. date night. Went to chucks . Waiter was friendly, but didn't care for his B.O. slow to get food. Asked for med. well on steak got burned offerings. Smallest steak I have ever seen in my life. Hubby asked for same got med. rare. Waiter never ask how are food was. Did you need more to drink. Dirty plates sat in front of us for ever. Had to flag him down to get plates taken away and a bill. When Chucks opened in Bracebridge we were delighted. Good food for good value, yes please. Months later the quality of the food at this location has dropped significantly as has the service. If you enjoy fish and chips NEVER order it here. They over cook it until it is inedible. Dreadful! I asked them to not over cook it when I ordered it and it was still dried out and over fried. The manager said that this is how they prepare it and if I didn't like it I shouldn't order it again. No problem, I won't or anything else there. Great food, great service & great prices! What a fun place to be. This restaurant has a really fun, happy atmosphere. We ordered the New York Steak cooked medium. It was absolutely delicious, tender and cooked exactly as ordered. I ordered a side of mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. It also came with a side of brown beans. My meal was cooked perfect and I enjoyed every bite. Our server was excellent and attentive to making sure we had all we needed, refilled all our drinks and checked to make sure we were happy with our meals. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a clean casual place to go with a fun happy atmosphere. We will definitely be going back. read more
