Fairly small buffet selection for dinner price. Small salad section, one vegetable. The menu said a selection of hors d'oeuvres but there was literally one, and it was an undercooked vegetable dumpling. The night we went had "bbq favourite" chicken skewers that were supposed to be maple but tasted bland and overcooked. The beef and shrimp were ok. The pasta option was probably the best tasting. Very disappointing for charging $45/person. Poor quality. Dessert section was quite good, that's the best part. Wouldn't ever go again for that price read more

A delicious meal with a nice view! The ravioli was very unique and served with an assortment of vegetables. The staff were also accommodating and split the steak into two plates for us. The dessert reflected the season with pumpkin spice and pears. Unfortunately the black forest mousse was unavailable! A little on the pricey side and understaffed (to no fault of the waitress; she seemed to be managing a lot of tables) but overall a memorable meal. read more

We've been to Deerhurst the last two years and we LOVE Eclipse Restaurant. This was actually the first time we had dinner there and we were very pleased. I had the stuffed chicken, which was delicious. My wife and I were lucky enough to have a beautiful view of the golf course with all the fall foliage. Found in the Deerhurst Resort, this restaurant has gorgeous water views. Grab a table by the window if available. Even in off-season it is lovely here. With a large dance competition going on, many hotels get overwhelmed and backed up. Not so with Eclipse. They offered 25% discounts to all on food to keep people onsite and so it would be busy. They were extremely well prepared with a full buffet of fresh hot and cold food. Our served asked me if I wanted a made to order omelette with the buffet which she brought quickly with coffee to the table. Delicious. The pancake with maple syrup was tasty too. So at this point I would probably rate it a four, but then my server did the kindest thing possible. She asked me if I wanted more coffee in a takeaway cup. Best. It is going to be a hectic day and there is no coffee shop in the hotel main building. Regular price breakfast buffet hot and cold: Adults $21 Kids $10 Fair prices and even better with 25% off. Love the breakfast buffet. Good food, service and selection. Start with your choice of omelette/eggs then go to town at the hot/cold buffet. For $21 at the resort, you won't need to eat lunch, and get a window seat to get a nice scenic view of the property. Didn't try the dinner buffet, so this is strictly based on the breakfast buffet. read more

The meal was absolutely delicious. My chowder starter was fresh, tasty and delicious. The chef basically re-created a menu item to suit my taste (vegetarian dish without mushrooms). It was the best tortellini dish I have ever had. The Apple Blossom desert was the best way to end the meal. My husband ordered a variety of game meats for his starter & entree and found them to be fantastic, well prepared and expertly presented. read more

Really average. I came during Family Day/V-day weekend, and instead of their regular menu, they only had their special Valentine's Day menu or the buffet for $35 or something like that. Basically, all the local Muskoka specialties and cool things like confit duck leg and baked lobster penne were not available. The options were like fish, steak, pretty normal stuff. I ended just getting the buffet which seemed okay, the dishes were "hit or miss" - they did refill the food a lot though, but not the desserts. To be honest had reservations not been made, I would've just went next door to their other in-resort restaurant. It seemed like you'd be getting the same quality food, and Eclipse wasn't particularly intimate - there were couples, families, and HUGE groups...like 20+ people. (It's a huge restaurant at an equally huge and packed resort - took a while to find parking). Overall, it wasn't quite the experience I was hoping for. I did like how they gave us a nice little table by the window though, our waiter was nice and also made an excellent wine recommendation. read more

Service was good but buffet was overcooked and sitting In heat lamps. Not enough variety unfortunately for pricing of the buffet, lacked flavour and quality. $38/pp. on the plus side,boys ate different things enough to fill their tiny bellies and wait staff were attentive to refill drinks. They had all these ice cream toppings but no ice cream?? Everyone kept wandering around looking for ice cream. A bit of a tease. I would rather go into town for better food. read more

Went here for breakfast while staying at the resort. Overall it was a pretty disappointing experience. They only had the a la carte menu available so I can only speak to that and can't speak to dinner options. The room was very beautiful and the view out over the bay from the window seats was really nice. The prices are very high for what you get and the service was slow. There was one server trying to take care of the entire place and it just wasn't enough. I was not even offered a coffee refill until the meal was finished. We ordered the breakfast 'Poutine' and the pancakes. Both were not bad but not well cooked; Poutine had very overcooked french toast pieces that were too hard to cut and the pancakes were under cooked and a little mushy. We had a discount due to staying at Deerhurst but if you have to pay full price I would recommend going into town instead for breakfast. read more
