Revolver had a used DVD section and LOADS of Disney - Hurrah! I found Aladdin door $20 and went to but right away. I did t have time to look around but I know if I was with my husband we'd have been in there for hours. They have a large vinyl collection, band shirts and music swag. Server was great and cleaned the DVD before I got it. Had some chitchat about this Disney vault being a real thing. Then went in my merry way. Can't wait to watch Aladdin now.

It feels as though they are there just to listen to music and get paid to do it. I hate to say it but I have never had good customer service at any HMV. I also don' t know how long they will be around for. It seems to me that people don't buy a lot of music in hard copy anymore. IF people aren't downloading, they are buying from iTunes (like me) because it is always cheaper. Then I can burn it onto a CD if I want. If you do want your music in hard copy, HMV does have a lot to choose from. All their music is divided by genre to make things easy (for you and the staff). But if you are on a budget, I would look elsewhere - maybe Walmart or somewhere like that.

I went to their designated call button for online orders, repeatedly pressed the button, allowing time in between each press for a staff member to come from somewhere in the store. I see a staff member organizing shelves, I approach them and ask if they can help me that I'm there to pick up an order and nobody has come to help me. They said I haven't received a call and the I don't need to be rude to them. I paused for a moment confused, and then stated that I'm not being rude. To which point the staff member stated I was being rude and that they were only matching my rude energy. I said I wanted to speak with a different staff member so I didn't have to deal with them. The staff member then replied that too bad, they were the only person available, and maybe I shouldn't be so rude next time and that the call button isn't working and they work in customer service and know how people are. I responded by stating that I work in customer service too and know how to treat people and it wasn't my problem the call button wasn't working, I followed their process to collect my online order, it is not my problem their process is broken. The sales person then asked for my last name, I gave it to them. I had my order open on my phone with the bar code ready to be scanned, the sales person then stated they needed my order number and proceeded to grab my phone out of my hand without asking. As they entered the order number the sales person stated that maybe next time I could just go to the till and have somebody help me there. I said the reason I didn't go there is because they were busy helping other customers and I didn't want to be rude. As they walked away to get my books, I said I was going to leave a bad review and they responded with maybe I shouldn't be so rude next time. I have never experienced such rudeness in a customer service person and then be gaslight by the staff member in trying to make me out to be the bad guy simply because I was expressing frustration in a process. I never once raised my voice, swore or name called. I was simply trying to express my frustration. As someone who has spent their entire career in customer service and take pride and joy in customer service, I find it disappointing that this was the go to response from a customer service person. There is enough ugliness in the world, empathy and kindness when someone is expressing frustration about a process, goes a long way.

I am a fan of this book store…read more I am old school and buy books to read. I just have a thing about holding a book and reading it vs online or on a tablet. They have more than just books. They've got games, toys, and tonnes of other items to browse. There's also a Starbucks if you want to buy and coffee and book and sit and read for a bit. My niece and I checked it out for her spring break as they had a week of kids activities. It was super cool... and I learned about new toys that are on the market that I was in the dark about. The event started off with an employee reading a book t all of the kids before they went to the different stations. The different stations for the kids were coloring, play games, and having an interactive experience. Indigo head office also provided grab bags for the first 50 kids or so through the door and we were lucky enough to show up on time and my niece got one. She was tickled pink and went home super happy. Book readers exist lol, we walk amongst everyone else... we need bookstores!! Shop local and save yourself shipping and just buy off the shelf

I went in a day later and the sales associate had it readily available. Even though the prices were higher, they did have a flyer with coupons and I was able to save about $30 off so that was great. Well, if Sunrise continues to charge the prices they are now, they'll be out of business soon too. All this stock is much cheaper on Amazon. To give you an idea of the price differential, The Beatles 1967-1970 BLUE 2LP set is $79.99 at Sunrise. It's $32.99 on Amazon. And, yes, I mean the Canadian Amazon. Sunrise have a deal now where if you buy a T-Shirt you get $5 off a record. So if you buy 9 T-Shirts the price will be on par with Amazon for this Beatles record. As their names indicates, they specialize in vinyl and they have a lot of it. They've even got a small stock of 7 inch records, some of which are Record Store Day titles. Actually, some of their LPs are RSD titles too. (None of the cool ones though.) They have a large stock of CDs as well. Not as many as HMV did. The CDs cost a lot of money too. They have some at discounted prices such as 2 for $10 or 2 for $20 but those seem to be few and far between. For the most part, the CDs average between $15 - $25. There is a section at the front of the store for discounted CDs starting at $6. Their second floor is filled with DVDs and Blu-Rays. Both of those formats are breathing their last breath right now as Netflix continues to twist the knife in their hearts. Blu-Rays are around $7.99-ish. Unless it's Avengers part 6 or Return of the Son of Batman's Daughter or something like that then you're looking at around $30. This store has a large stock of board games which judging from their recent press release seems to be what they're counting on to set them apart from other big box retailers and keep them in business. ??? They cost from $30 - $90. Ish. Sunrise reminds me a bit of Urban Outfitters and not just because they're both radically overpriced. Sunrise also have those cheap, gaudy portable record players which sound like flies in a tin can that they sell to hipsters for $150. Crazy. The staff are friendly and greet you at the front door - Wal-Mart style. They don't stick your bags with happy faces though.

The staff at Listen is awesome. Very nice, personable guys with a lot of patience. My wife went there recently with a long list of items that she was seeking out for me. She said that the dude working the check-out was totally cool and didn't mind looking up every item on the list to see if it was available, and if not, where she could find it. He didn't even exhibit any signs of musical snobbery towards my classic rock and metal leanings. She came home full of raves (and records). If you're into metal or older rock music, Listen won't be your ideal stop, but it's great for people who aren't into mainstream stuff.
