They always tried to see me the day of when I'm in pain and are so nice about it. The appointments are quick and both the dental assistances and dentists are gentle when cleaning teeth. Both dentists are great so it doesn't matter who you see! There's parking in the back lot or street parking right in front. I went for an appointment recently and they screen each patient and check their temperatures. They wear face shields during the procedures fo protect themselves, which is important since they do not want to get sick. I saw all the staff members (not just the front desk person) clean surfaces, door handles, thermometers, etc. after each patient.

I had an issue with sensitive teeth out of nowhere and they made time to address my concerns right away. Not only during the routine cleanings and or need for fillings, Dr. V does an amazing job taking the time to explain everything to you so you can better understand your symptoms. You have not been to a good dentist, until you've tried Dorchester Dental. I'd put my money on that hands down. I don't think I would be able to find a better place to entrust my teeth to! A couple of times the practice canceled my scheduled appointment, but did not bother to notify me. They informed me that my appointment had been canceled and they insisted that they did call me. However, there was no message left on my phone. At first they tried to convince me that I was in the wrong doctors Office. On two occasions the dental hygienist just didn't show up for work. That is so unprofessional. On one occasion, I waited three hours for a scheduled appointment, and then finally had to reschedule and come back another time. There was no emergency going on. Not sure what the holdup was. I'm not really sure how this dentist can stay in practice.

John Chen he is one fabulous dentist ... needed a broken tooth removed that had broken off . Dr.Chen removed the tooth with no pain I felt no pain whatsoever. The staff is super super nice I mean it's like I feel a part of a family. I also had a tooth filling once again he numbed me well enough and I felt no pain again. I would recommend this dentist for any age children to adults make an appointment with in then you'll see plenty of parking free.

Waited a half hour and was told I would need to wait another 2 hours to be seen. Apparently I was supposed to come in earlier to fill out paperwork, but no one told me to come in early. I would have had no problem doing that if it had been communicated. And I did come in 5 minutes early anyway. They overbooked themselves and tried to gaslight me into thinking I did something wrong, So incredibly unprofessional. They tried to call me back to get me in an hour after I left but it was too late by then and I was already turned off by the unprofessionalism. The place is tiny and claustrophobic btw. No windows. Blessing in disguise that I didn't become a patient here.

Having seen…read moreDr. Hempton previously, I knew he was the dentist (periodontist) I wanted to extract my tooth. The procedural and post operative experience was thankfully uneventful. He contacted me later that evening to see how I was feeling. I had NO pain, swelling, soreness, tenderness or bruising which can often occur following a tooth extraction. He took his time to ensure my anatomical structures (jawbone) remained in tact which is extremely important in preparation for placement of a dental implant. He also gave me frequent breaks to rest my jaw. Dr. Hempton is extremely patient and an exceptional clinician.

Today, in May 2026, I contacted the clinic to schedule an appointment to finally proceed with the Invisalign. However, I was told I couldn't return because I missed too many appointments in the past. I explained that I don't recall missing any appointments, only that I had to delay treatment due to financial reasons. The receptionist insisted it's their policy, and I am not allowed to come back. I believe this refusal might be based on my ethnicity.

Every time I go, they are very friendly and professional, answering all the questions I have. They met my puppy when I first began my treatment and they continue to ask how my puppy is almost every time I return, even 3 years later! It took a bit long to finish my braces treatment because of my insurance issue from my job. Not their fault. But we managed to complete it and I am so happy with how my teeth look!!
