In retrospect I would have chosen less delicate shoes since they got very dirty. I called explaining the situation with my shoes, and they were honest, not claiming they could immediately fix them but just asking to bring them in so they could take a look and see what they could do. I brought them in, they said the damage was pretty severe and permanent, but that they would do their best to restore them. I trusted them with the shoes, and a few days later when I picked them up to my surprise and delight they were in great condition! They really exceeded my expectations with their work. In addition they have shoes for sale. My husband got some great monk strap shoes that he's been wanting for a while. Overall amazing experience. They have been in business since the 60s, and the longevity is really a testament to the quality service they provide. Will definitely be back!

The insole clean up was decent and at least not embarrassing to wear like they would have been. Payment was due at initiation of service/when dropping off the item(s). Only downside was they weren't ready at the first date he told me for pick up. I had some wiggle room time though so over all it was ok, it just meant extra driving around town and a bit of worry that they might not be ready by the new date (but they were!). He told me it normally takes a day or two, but he knew it was an emergency for me. The shoe was wet and he warned me the glue might not hold well. I asked him to try anyway, and I understood there was no guarantee. I had such a nice chat with him while he worked on it. And it did hold! Through the years we have always been satisfied with the quality of work, the time it takes to perform the job, and the price. Last year we learned our lesson when someone that works with my husband suggested a shoe repair shop in Frankfort. Not only was it a sloppy job but the inside of the shoe was ruined when a ripple was caused by the repairman. It was an expensive lesson but one we needed to learn. He left the old stitching in and just stitched right over the top. Looks horrible and I will have to just throw these away and buy a new pair. How can this guy be in business? He told me to pick the old stitches out myself. They are locked in with the new stitches. Horrible craftsmanship.
