We used to buy Church's Chicken often when we lived in San Angelo some years ago and we loved it. Then we were told that it wasn't that good. Now we live 50 miles out of Angelo and I would drive that far Every Day to get a load of Church's Chicken. Besides the chicken and other good things, the lady at the window had a beautiful smile and she gave us the best fried chicken EVER! I ordered a 2pc chicken dinner and a large red Fanta thru the drive thru when I made it home and was drinking on the soda from the time I left the drive thru I popped the top off to pour the melted ice off and a Nasty Filthy ROACH had been in my drink the whole time!!!!!!!!! Soooo... I was VERY skeptical about going to Church's Chicken. BUT, Church's Chicken on N. Bryant Blvd, San Angelo TX has become a place my family and I would not hesitate to recommend to each other, frequently. Here are the reasons why: 1.Their chicken is delicious, 2.They never have a problem with us ordering only dark meat, 3.They get our order right every time (so far it's been 100%!--knock on all the wood), 4.I can easily place my order on the mobile app (and I can customize within reason of the option), and 5.Their service is quick and concise (I've only done the mobile order pick-up so far). That's 5 reasons just off the top of my head! IMHO, whoever is managing this restaurant is doing a great job--apparently the customer service used to suck and they receive poor rating, naturally. But a new Church's Chicken Sheriff is in town, and good chicken and customer service is the goal, and they're nailing it! Avoid this location. No management and they had 20 some people waiting on food but kept taking orders. Walked out after 15 minutes with no end in sight to getting food. Probably would have had to wait for another 30 minutes for one 3 piece combo. read more

Came in to your establishment around 4 ish, WAITED for what seemed like forever!! The Hispanic man never looked up at me but was aware I was patiently waiting, but he continued to count money and not acknowledge me, when the older women approached me if I was being helped, he told her he would take care of me...I WAITED and WAITED, and nothing!!! Old Chicken Honestly out of this meal the biscuits were edible. It always feels like a gamble eating from here. Sometimes it's actually good but that's rare and mostly in the past. Now it feels like there just lazy workers wanting to give what's leftover. As soon as I bit into a leg my mouth immediately spat it out. Took it as a sign to not finish it or else. Sent my fiancé to pick up a family meal for the kids and us. I will say yes sending him may have been a mistake. Anyway he orders 16 pc legs and thighs with poppers and mashed potato's. He pulls up to the second window and they inform him they're out of everything but fries for sides and that's what they gave him. Now he gets home informs me what happened and I get slightly aggravated with how much we spent. I open the chicken box and it was all thighs besides one burnt leg, the thighs were also dry / burnt and i know our kids won't eat this. I call and ask if we brought everything back if they'd refund us explaining our kids are "picky" and wouldn't eat it. The manager said "I don't need the chicken bring the recipt " and she then hung up. I get my sister to watch the kids and my fiancé and I head up there (15 min drive). We get there and the lobby is closed so we head to the drive thru and explain we called ahead and are here for the refund and the lady starts saying we can't give a refund without the food. We ask for the manager and get a "pull up". We pull up manager asks for the receipt. We hand it over then she opens up the window and rudely advised us that she wasn't going to refund the tea since we didn't complain about it. We say that's fine and she lets us know that she's been the one cooking and everything was fresh and nobody's complained. I say "I understand that but It was dry/ burnt and I have kids at home who won't eat that" she then interrupts me and says, "yea well I'm sorry that we didn't have the sides either but jalapeño poppers aren't for kids". I snapped back and said "yea that was mainly for us but the mashed potato's were for them!" Now my fiancé is Mexican as well as our kids and they eat jalapeños so what she said was quite ridiculous! She then slammed the window and soon after gave us our refund. This whole experience was a huge pain I felt as if I was being mom shamed because I wasn't going to force my kids to eat that nasty chicken! Or even that I let them eat jalapeños! Not to mention her comment could be taken as racist but I won't even get into that. That manager has no respect for her customers she should've just gave us our money back as we did nothing to provoke her to act that way. And honestly her comment about my kids, was absolutely disgusting! I wish I would've caught her name but she was blonde with glasses with a raspy voice. We will not be going back to this restaurant. Chicken was very good. We ordered spicy and it was. Finally a chicken place that made it spicy. The chicken was great and our order was correct. We got mashed potatoes, fried okra and the bombers. All was good. Very good experience. read more

Went by for a couple of pieces of chicken yesterday. I wanted to see how business in our community were operating. I tell you people this place doesn't care a thing about your safety. They have taken NO precautions except to put a damn box of handiwioes at the entrance for you to grab. There was not a mask or glove in site. The employees were handling the food completely unprotected. BEWARE San Angelo!!!! Operating right in the community that they say will be the hardest hit...a business that doesn't appear to give a rats ass about your safety. Husband brought this home for dinner a few nights ago. Let's just say this, I'm fluffy and i couldn't even eat more than two bites of a piece of chicken. Yeah, it was that bad. Lol! they completely messed up my order & when we went and asked if it could be changed attitude was given and they spoke to us in a nasty tone. the cashier then proceeded to say that it was our fault that the order was taken wrong. my meal came with a biscuit, it was clearly stated on the menu and when i asked for my biscuit the cashier proceeded to say that a biscuit was not included with my meal. i showed her the menu and she acted as if it did not say that it came with a biscuit. the experience was terrible and the staff is very rude. read more
