My family couldn't have had a better experience at Cork & Pig today. We were in town for a funeral and our dinner plans fell through. I called Cork & Pig to ask if they could accommodate our party size within 10 minutes of arrival. When we got there, they already had a table ready for the 12 of us. Service was excellent - all entrees came out together, the menu offerings all sounded delicious and everything delivered in execution and flavor. I especially enjoyed my ahi tuna salad, which was so fresh and balanced. They even were so kind as to give us complementary beignets for the table. read more

The ambience is rustic, modern, and relaxing. Service was average. The food was not as tasteful as I expected or desired. My stomach began to hurt after eating the buffalo wings. I was also not able to tolerate the ribs. Staff were friendly. I may try this restaurant again in the future. read more

We went for a FathersDay brunch and I had them suits and gravy with 3 eggs. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were cooked perfectly. The gravy was excellent but the biscuits were a little dry, but still very good. We had a reservation but there was still a bit of a wait. This was the first time I'd been to the "new" location. Cork and Pork totally surprised me. I usually stick to mom-and-pop spots because the big, polished places often lose that soulful flavor over time, but this spot delivered. The vibe was warm and welcoming, the service was friendly, and my pork chop was perfectly seasoned with creamy mashed potatoes that hit just right. And those beignets? Awesome service from Mackenzie. She was very knowledgable about the menu. The spinach and artichoke dip was pretty good but the chips were very salty. I also got the Spiced Pear Margarita. That cocktail was just delicious! My daughter got the mocktail...pig punch. She loved it but it had some caffeine in it so I only let her have half of it. We then put in our order and waited about 15-20 mins or so. My salmon was cooked to perfection along with parmesan mashed potatoes and a side of the peanut coleslaw. My daughter ordered the ultimate pepperoni. She said it was sooo good. My hubby had the cuban sandwich...he had to send it back because it was burned. He got a new one which looked awesome but the meat inside was cold. Overrall a really good dining experience. It's next to the Fairfield Marriott so it was very convenient. read more

I went to cork and pig for my birthday tonight while visiting, and to say I am truly disappointed by my experience would be putting it politely. When arriving and being greeted, Lucy was truly irritated from the moment we walked in. Everyone has their nights and I can understand but anything we said when ordering was met with unmatched irritation. When ordering my sons meal I alerted her that the table had an allergy and to bring his food separate from the rest as he could go into shock, she said the kitchen couldn't keep it away from anything and when trying to explain that we understood kitchen protocols and the steps she than tried telling me that the kitchen was gonna try its best and no promises. I let it slide and just agreed and ordered my filet medium and mashed potatoes and went on with my business. She didn't touch the table and I had to ask other servers to call for her just for my drink which wasn't a problem. I then got my food and it was well done & asked if it could be redone which she agreed. By the time my second steak came back everyone was already finished but again, as long as it's okay I can't complain. I cut into it and it's well again, the manager understood my sadness but I didn't complain and just asked it be off the bill and they could take it back. He insisted on me keeping it for the trouble and asked if I could order anything else that he would also take care of, I declined but he left my steak for me to take home which I thanked. When the server came back she was very adamant to taking the steak, and when my table explained to her that the manager had urged me to keep it for the troubles she said that he had already taken it off the bill so she could take it, I then declined and told her I would take it since I wouldn't be eating on my birthday with my family at a restaurant that I personally picked for my birthday (silly choice now). You could tell she was upset and didn't touch the table again until handing us all the bill. So at that point I had 2 table touches and a bill to call a nice dinner. It saddens me because I really had heard amazing things from locals but that wasn't the case for me but the manager who was a man that I didn't get the name of was very friendly and was nice enough to take the steak off my bill so he is appreciated. Overall, I don't think this place will see me again and I encourage you if you're in the area to please be wary of the service. On the plus side my mango margarita was very nice! read more

Sunday was our "167th Month-i-versary" and we are trying to decide where we want to have dinner. A few of our favorite places were considered, and we chose the Cork & Pig Tavern. We have not been for a while, and it's time to enjoy what we usually have there. When we arrived, there were not a lot of people here, and usually it is almost filled. Checked in and were shown to a booth in the Bar area, which is fine with us. We love being closer to the liquor. Andrea is our server, and we ordered our drinks, Jack-N-Coke. We kind of know what we want, but we checked the menu anyway. Decided on our usual, their "House Salad". They don't list what's in this Salad, but here's what I think is in their Saladliciousness: various types of Lettuce, Sprouts, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Corn, Avocado, seasoned Croutons, and a Balsamic Champagne Dressing. Whatever is consists of, it's the Best around. It is also served on an Oval Decorative Plate and is one of the Most Beautiful Salads you will ever have presented. We are also ordering from the Starters Menu, their "Blue Ribbon Wings"; Eight meaty Chicken Wings covered with Buffalo Sauce, served with Blue Cheese or Ranch dipping sauce. Choose Ranch this time. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed those Jack-N-Cokes, and they are very tasty, with a nice amount of Jack. Happy 167th Month-i-versary Baby, Love You. It didn't take long for our food to arrive, and those Blue Ribbon Wings look good. Not as much Buffalo Sauce on them, but that's fine with me. Before, that sauce produced a lot of heat. This time the heat was there, but for me it was Just-Right. The Wings were very tasty with a light crunch. It also comes with celery sticks to dip into the Ranch dressing. This time, it's two sticks of celery, whereas before it was served with four. They are fresh with a nice Celery-Crunch. The House Salads look smaller than before, and they are. Looks like only one kind of lettuce with some cabbage, and very little corn. The Balsamic Champagne Dressing is also very lightly coating the salad - not much there, but you can taste it and it's very good. When we ordered their Pizza before, we would share this House Salad because it was Huge. Not so much now, it's a lot smaller, but still tasty. We ate it all and enjoyed every bite, but it's just not the same as it was before. Andrea was great and earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. She loved it and thanked us many times. Cork & Pig has always had delicious food, and we absolutely love their "Pig Pizza" - and everything on the menu, especially from their Starters Menu. read more

Two people for a mid-day meal on a Saturday. We ordered their homemade lemonade, the wood fired chicken with mashed potatoes and a steak salad medium rare. The server was spot on and the meal exceeded our expectations. Seemed like a great place for small or large groups either both indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We'll be back. The first impression was that it was SMOKEY. Our clothes are still reeking this morning. The waitress was friendly but seemed scattered even though it wasn't packed. She informed us they were out of several items. One of which was the pork chop my husband had already decided on. We ended up with the chorizo pizza which he said was really good. I got the club sandwich which stated that it had bacon and it didn't. It also had tomatoes and mayonnaise which were not listed on the menu. The server brought me some bacon so it was fine. My fries would have been perfect except they were not hot, barely warm in fact. I also got a side of the peanut coleslaw and it was good with a touch of spice. The drinks were ok too. Nothing spectacular, a martini and an old fashioned. All in all just ok but the $79 price tag is hard to swallow when it isn't amazing. read more

The food was good but after 4 hours we may have just been starving. We expected a wait on Mother's Day and was told it would be an hour to an hour 15 minutes. It was 2 hours to get seated. We sat and listened to the hostess lie to people not getting their tables and then sat people who came in after others and did not have reservations ahead them. It took another hour and a half to get the food we ordered as soon as we sat down. It was ridiculous. That being said our waitress great. We ordered sprite for kids and ask for strawberries in them. The kitchen told her no so she came back with a cup of strawberries for us. She tried but the system they used was clearly not working. Never again. read more

The restaurant has changed since I was first here and the changes are good. The temp and music volume were comfortable. I was so focused on our conversation, I could not tell you what music was playing. We sat in a booth, but the light above us was out, so no bueno for photos. We started with cocktails/mocktails and the southwest queso. The mango martini was a super treat for my friend and I really fell in love with the virgin coconut mojito. I live wayyyyy south of the border in the land of coconuts and this drink was on par but less creamy, less minty... still a very nice drink. The southwest queso was a cheese dip with spinach and maybe some sausage in it. There was also a side of salsa with these very light and crisp tortilla chips. In a state where fundido is ubiquitous, I cannot recommend this queso dip at all, but I loved the salsa. My friend and I could not resist the roast pork chops. This time they came with a bourbon sauce that twinkled on the top of these perfectly cooked and seasoned chops (my friend's smaller chop was a little over done). We got the seasonal side of asparagus (yum!) and were talked into the cauliflower to share. Excellent, but I have a slightly better recipe that includes anchovies. We each could only eat one pork chop, but I'm having fantasies about the second one sliced on a crunchy roll with mango and cilantro. Beinets were hot, sweet, and fluffy with a great cream sauce. My friend took these home as I am not a fan of sweets. I look forward to my next visit! read more

Ordered The Pig pizza with added jalapeños for a to go order. There was only 1 jalapeno on each slice. Made us laugh. The pizza was not cooked enough and was very sparse with the other toppings. Should rename it The Anorexic Pig. Very disappointed as this was one of my favorite pizzas anywhere. The meal I had was fantastic. West Texas Tacos with the blackened fish and Broccolini which I highly recommend. Service was a bit slow, but they have closed half of the restaurant for remodeling and the area to the left of the check in counter is all that's available right now. It was fairly cramped do to additional tables brought over to that side. About a 15 minute wait and we had our 3 year old granddaughter with us. One of the managers(I think) said they would bring her some fries while we waited. What a great gesture!! Ambiance was crowded and lively that night, but still a great experience overall. read more

I ordered the pancakes and unfortunately they were a big letdown. The bottom of the pancakes was so hard I couldn't even pierce it with a knife, which made them pretty much unenjoyable. When the plate came out, the presentation was also lacking. It included a single very thin slice of banana and a few berries (maybe around 7 total), which felt skimpy for the price and expectation. When I asked for extra fruit, I was surprised to see a $7 charge added, which felt excessive given how little fruit came with the dish to begin with. Service was slow overall. To be fair, our server herself was kind and polite, but everything just took longer than it should have. Overall, not a great experience and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Came in for a dinner and happy hour combo with two other local friends of my wife and I. We are all foodies so this place always delivers for us and it did tonight. Everything we got was spectacular. The new seared ahi tuna mango salad was on point, my staple go-to wood fire-roasted pork chops were amazing. My wife's pig pizza (Monday special) looked great and she said it was delicious. My son got the grilled salmon plate and ate every last bite of it. He also picked out the desert item of bignets and we were all impressed with how good those were. Can't beat the happy hour drink prices either! Ben the GM is a class act guy and our server Julie was amazing as well. Ask for her when you go. read more

No soup of the day but apparently the "vegetable of the day makes up for it." I have a a husband that I have to force veggies on. Ordered beer from the local fare menu. Sorry, we are from WI, we do not drink warm beer. The manager offered a chilled glass, again... ordered bottle beer for a reason. When inquiring about the beer the response was "that's just how our coolers are." This is not acceptable. Ordered an old fashioned... straight tasted like cough syrup... not sure if they skipped the bitters or what happened? We left the waitress $20 and left/cancelled our order. We were here for an army graduation. Upon explaining our experience, one of the young recruits mentioned his entire class went only 3 days earlier and experienced the same "we are out of". I ordered the steak salad (medium well). I expected the steak to come out already cut or in strips but I actually got a 4 oz filet that positively suprised me. The minor issue was the steak was grilled medium, regardless the taste of both the greens, dressing, and steak was fantastic. The restaurant allowed for great conversation and even some privacy from where we were seated. The Cuban Sandwich would have been my 2nd choice if I get the opportunity to return again. Second visit to C&PT. The chicken and waffles pictured were from a previous visit of which I didn't publish the review. They were good but it's been so long that I don't remember much else. Fast forward to 2023, and I must say our meal was wonderful. I had the salmon with broccollini, and my wife had the Cuban with a side Salas. We shared each others meals so we both could have something different. The salmon was cooked perfect for my taste. It's hit or miss at various places so this was a plus. The Cuban was not so great looking due to the bread looking charred, but as the saying goes "don't judge a book by its cover". The sandwich was flavorful without too many pickles or mustard. I had a cocktail that was just ok but she had the peach whiskey tea which was great. Wish i had one out by my pool right now!! Everything was just the right amount. We may never be back in this area as our kid graduated this weekend and will be moving on, but if we are, we look forward to coming back here. read more

Writing up this review before I even leave the restaurant because I enjoyed my lunch so much! Came by based on the recommendation of a friend & I was not disappointed! My waitress Gaby recommended the steak salad or Cuban sandwich which I already had on my shortlist but instead I opted for the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with the side of fries and an extra side of the cauliflower. First of all, Gaby was very pleasant and attentive. Top notch service which made the meal very nice. As for the food, the chicken sandwich was delicious! The slaw, red onions, pickle with the perfectly crispy chicken breast really worked (fast food chicken sandwich wars can't compete!). The other star of the meal was the cauliflower. Simple but yummy! Fries were not bad but were the underachiever this time around. I'd probably opt for Mac & cheese next time instead. If you're in San Angelo & looking for a good meal I'd recommend giving this spot a try. read more
