Had a craving for some fried chicken and notice a Churches Chicken while I was driving so I pulled over. It has a small parking lot as well as a small lobby area there is no seating available. So you have to take your order and wait. The young lady taking orders could care less of being there and was waiting for the time to tick away so she could leave. They are very slow to completing orders and getting them out. It seems to be a normal situation at every Church's Chicken I've ever been to though. I was inside the building for maybe 15 minutes before I received my order. I was just chatting with the other customers waiting for their meals to kill time. I will say that my chicken was very good It was very hot and I got me a jalapeno pepper as well as a biscuit. I don't often go to Church's Chicken because they're not that many around. read more

Trying to get an order to be fulfilled by this place, through Uber Eats, is a futile pursuit. Not once, not twice, but on multiple occasions we placed the order and get multiple delivery drivers and then the order gets canceled because they (Church's) are unable to fulfill the order. I am not sure who works at this location, if anyone, but this needs to be fixed or they need to be removed from the food delivery applications. This location is unreliable and not worth the hassle. Tell me how you order something online, pick it up, go around find out they shorted you fries and biscuits and when you went inside to ask for what you're missing, they tell you they gave you everything and that they don't give food for free. I paid for that food, and after arguing they refused to give me my missing food. I would love for this place to close and go out of business. This is our first time having Church's Chicken. We've attempted before, but have left for a couple of reasons: the line was just way too long to wait, and it's in a rather sketchy neighborhood. Like, it's got a super unsafe vibe. But I really wanted to try it so.... GrubHub to the rescue!! Grubhub arrived quickly and our order was completely correct and hot and smelled fantastic! The chicken wasn't slimy or grisly but actually really super good. The mash is comparable to other chicken joints but I do wish they kept the gravy and the spuds separated. The Mac and cheese is the cheesiest. Those biscuits are pretty grand. I don't even like biscuits. At all. But these were tasty little morsels. Overall, we actually liked the food! First time at this Church's Chicken, on a weekday. They open at 10:00 am now. Got there around 10:30. The buildig is old and needs updating, but the staff was friendly. It's a typical slow Church's service. Expect to wait a while if theres a line. The chicken was fresh and hot and we ate it in the parking lot. The biscuits are tasty and butterly. Oh my lorddd. So if you check out my reviews, very quickly my love for fried chicken becomes obvious. This is my first experience with Church's Chicken and the food really impressed me. The fried chicken tenders were pretty good. I like Zaxbys more, but Church's taste eons better than KFC's chicken tenders. I asked the cashier if their was something I could add to enhance the flavor, and she said she loves to add lemon juice and some pepper and shake that box up. I'll definitely try that with the shrimp next time I come back. Moving on to the honey butter biscuit, this was the most deliciouqs biscuit I've ever had. The taste of this biscuit itself is a 5/5. When we opened our boxes, the smell just bursted out and this biscuit is not just smell... First bite of the crispy exterior, the flavors of the honey and tenderness of the interior just melted in my mouth causing my mouth to salivate and go in for another bite. My old all time favorite biscuit belonged to Popeyes, these guy have stolen that spot. This biscuit should be illegal and is definitely not good for your body, but it just tastes AHMAZINGGG. The reason I give it 4 stars is because there is no seating available. With that being said, bring some friends, get your food, get in the car and crank up the music. Overpriced chicken that had been sitting under a heat lamp so long it was tough and not hot. For what I paid ($19.22)for 2 piece all white and 3 piece dark with one side I could have gone to Publix and got an 8 piece meal with 2 sides and rolls for less. And it would have tasted better. We've always had good experiences at this restaurant, but today changed things, probably for good. Stopped to pick up some chicken for supper. Wanted all white meat, so I was told it would be about 10 minutes... no big deal so I waited. I could see the counter person packing boxes, and hustling to get the orders ready for several customers, who were patiently waiting. She finally motioned to me that my order was ready, she handed me a bag with a box at the bottom, and a large container which I could see was my "Spicy Rice" I had ordered 4 pieces of chicken, which comes with 2 biscuits. Not checking the contents of the box, I drove home. When I opened the box in my kitchen, I discovered the box was completely full of biscuits...no chicken at all. This place should be shut down and never allowed to re-open! The staff here are very obnoxious, rude, and, dare I say, GHETTO! They have no idea about customer service. There is no seating in this restaurant, you just order and leave. The chicken is seldom ready when ordered resulting in the rude cashier telling people to wait up to 20 minutes. The manager is ineffective over his staff and I feel certain that the place is not sanitary. I would not return here even if it were the only fried chicken place in Florida. It's in a dangerous neighborhood and that element exists inside the restaurant as well. I really find fault with the cashiers. They act as if they are giving you food from their own kitchen. I can see there are a few feelings about churches chicken in lakeland fl., some good and some bad. I will say that staff comes off a little bit grouchy and irritable like they were wishing McDonald's was hiring. The food taste is not consistent from one week to the next but it is not horrible and is actually very good. I believe people are entitled to have a bad day from time to time and I think when two people are having a bad day together well that's where bad reviews can come from. I have frequented this Churches up on memorial blvd fairly often as my budget will allow and have not had really any bad experiences for the last five years. when employees are displaying displeasure to the customers and acting like they(Customer) are an inconvenience, I blame it on management and poor training by the supervisory team. I ran a business for many years and have fired employees for treating my customers as if they don't matter or anything less than excellence. The customer who is spending their hard earned money in an establishment like a restaurant should be greeted with open arms and a warm smile to say "thank you for choosing us! You could have taken your money somewhere else yet you came here providing me with job security. Thank you!" In all fairness Churches Chicken In lakeland is not the only business with grouchy employees. I have seen this attitude all over lakeland fl, treating customers like the are an inconvenience and mad because they have to do something.
