Honestly I have no complaints this was my first time here came in an hour before closing service was great the prices are pretty good won't spend more than $40 for two meals drinks and large appetizer. They have their own barbecue sauces and their no run of the mill sauces I recommend trying all of them to find your taste, I bought three of these sauces for $12 in my opinion if you've been buying regular store brand sauces these are a big upgrade. We decided to try this place out, since we're always looking for new places to add to our "Food Favorites " list. And I'm so glad we did! I ordered the St. Louis ribs plate with collard greens and Mac & cheese, and my S.O. ordered the brisket plate with baked beans and mac & cheese. Being that we ordered delivery through Grubhub, we expected our food to be slightly less than cold by the time it arrived. But boy were we happy when it got here and was still really warm (not lukewarm). Everything we ordered was in the bag, and packaged neatly, which is something most delivery food is lacking. The ambience reminds me of someplace that would be on diners, drive-ins and dives. the food here is amazing with a wide range of barbecue offerings inside to choose from. There is something for everybody here the seating is not the best as it's usually hard so if you're looking to sit comfortably and enjoy, that may be an issue however, this is a great venue with great food. Menu options are difficult to work through (sandwich vs platter, 1 side vs 2 sides, worth switching to special?) I ordered a chicken sandwich. I stopped here on a recent visit to Lakeland because I had a craving for BBQ and this didn't really do it for me. The restaurant is located in a strip center on Hwy 92 near Combee Road. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but many of the best bbq joints don't. You walk in where you are greeted by a large menu and counter service ordering station. I ordered the pork plate with mac n cheese as the side. I then went and picked a seat where I was greeted by a large variety of bbq sauces. I tried them all and narrowed down my two favorites. I actually found that my 2 favorites mixed together pretty well. A server brought out my plate and problem #1 happened. I had received a plate of sliced pork, not pulled pork. This was probably my fault as I suppose I didn't specify. I grew up in NC, pork is pulled. My bad, not a huge deal. However, the pork was sooooo dry and perhaps the pulled pork would not have been quite as dry. It was also generally flavorless. The mac n cheese was bland. It tasted like Stouffers. The server was nowhere to be found until I was almost done. I told her they were horrible. All she said was she'd tell her mgr. but never offered any resolution. I like this place, and used to eat there a lot being that is one of the only places near where I work. However, after picking up a to-go order today, NO ONE was wearing a mask. I got back to work, handed out the meals and told everyone that no one was wearing a mask at the restaurant when preparing or packing the food. I elected to throw mine away and not eat it. Received an invitation to join their "Rewards Club" so I registered. As a reward, they emailed that I could receive a free REDNECK NACHOS for registering, but must be used within 7 days. They also offer rewards for dining. My friend and I set out for the South Lakeland location. You enter and order at the registers, then make way to a table and the food and drinks are then delivered. After waiting about 5 minutes, 2 young ladies appeared from the kitchen, both not wearing a mask. I offered to give my phone number to retrieve the free gift. I was told " This location doesn't participate in the rewards program. Our computer system needs to be updated." Since we were there, we went ahead and ordered. After finding a table, the drinks were delivered followed soon by the food. The food was hot and fresh, but not overly tasty. The server working the dining room never once had a mask or gloves on. As people left, she didn't seem to go to any great measures to sanitize the tables. A visit to the restroom revealed that paper towels were not provided. Sorry, we're one and done.
