Churrasco Brazilian BBQ has been a staple in Coogee for a number of years, which is a feat in itself and a testament to this restaurant delivering quality food. Brazil is renowned around the world for their barbecuing ability and this is no different at Churrasco. Churrasco uses a few different techniques including a rotisserie over hot coals and a smoker. The restaurant itself is a large space perfect for a group or an intimate dining experience. Differing from many restaurants you instantly pass the cooking area as you walk in. Look to the left and you will see the rotisserie in action, and to the right the impressively large smoker. As you head into the dining area, the walls are covered in a collage of Brazilian pictures to set the mood. Then there are the staff members who have a Brazillian back ground, including the chefs and waitresses, helping to make for an authentic Brazilian barbeque experience. Like most Brazilian BBQ places Churrasco, have a go/stop system, using a token on the table,where one side is green, and the other red. With the quality of the food hitting the table you will keep the green side up until you are bursting at the sides. All of the meat arriving at the table was mouthwatering good. Much of the meat was cooked on the rotisserie served straight off the skewers which keeps it tender and juicy including chicken and beef. Although the meat was tasty enough on its own, the dipping sauces enhance the flavour and the green chilli beef was a favourite. The pork belly is succulent and the crackling nice and crisp. The beef ribs were prepared in the large smoker and were full of flavour and fell to pieces at the sight of a fork. There are some non meat dishes including the tasty fried banana fritters, the cheese bread (cheese puffs) chips and a number of salads. You will also need you reserve stomach for their desserts including the chocolate fondant and churros. We also hear of a legendary banoffee pie that may make a return and exciting tweaks to the churros. Churasco's is truly a carnivores dream, you will be in meat heaven. Well worth the $43 price for all you can eat. The experience is very enjoyable with staff members making you feel welcome and consistently at the table with different food to sample. Perfect for groups or those with a love of meat. Keep an eye out for their lunch menu too, there will be a range of burgers on offer for those in a hurry. This. place. is. off. the. charts! My flatties and I did a random rock up on a Saturday night sans booking. This was my first visit, whilst they are regulars, and we found ourselves in a line. As the waitress told us we might not be seated tonight, the air simmered with anxiety. Personally? I was sweating like a fat man in a cake shop (wearing hot pink lycra whilst executing the 26 asanas of Bikram!) All that flow must've sent good vibes into the cosmos because within minutes we were seated; within seconds surrounded by a bucket of icy cold coronas and a jug full of muddled mint mojito; within moments savouring mouth-watering meats. And that's just the start of the fun. To sum this place up for you guys -- It's all you can eat BBQ charred meats covering the entire smorgaspectrum, served tableside; by a revolving stream of super hot, well-endowed waitresses. Wait! As our eyes met across a piled platter of pulled pork, I fell in love with one of the waitresses. Not that puppy stuff mind you. This was full blown, head over heels, truly, madly, deeply romantic love. In my meat madness I may have at one point proposed, aye and have meant it too! Wanting to seal the deal with my paramour, I reached for a crispy bacon inspired circular disc of glistening goodness. Yeah. I put a ring on it alright! How could any real woman resist that? Having won her heart I went into a food coma... nay a food flatline... They pulled out the crash cart. 1. 2. 3. Clear! ZzZzZzZap! I sprung back to life just as the next round of sirloin tip flew by and I somehow found a gap in my gorging guts, to thrust another fistful of steak into... Then came the salads. Don't let me lose you here. The salad was GOOD. Real good. That's right, amongst the swathe of sirloin, leagues of lamb, conga lines of chorizo, plethora of pork and ribs they shoot through the odd salad. The rocket was surprising -- you get that natural pepper hit but they've managed to add a contrasting element of sweetness that elevates it a notch. The hero of the night? That my friends is you! It's ironic that red being the colour of blood originally chosen to indicate STOP was also chosen to indicate 'I'm so unbelievably full from all this bloody good red meat, that I'm about to pop.' I prefer green. What could be better than a fixed price, all you can eat menu, and a green/red token to indicate your personal sense of fullness. So if you're so full, breathless, dehydrated, and possibly incapacitated that you cannot verbally indicate the waitress to stop feeding you; choose red. The service has always been exemplary, with friendly waiters and waitresses, they'll definitely be sure you're having a great experience. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to vegetarians, but for groups big and small, the menu is accommodating to all preferences. So if you're prepared to have a fantastic feast, booze up on the brazilian specialities for a slender $38, then you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of service, exceptional value, and incomparable brazilian experience - and by that I mean the brazilian wait staff are gorgeous. read more

I have had Brazilian BBQ a few times now, it is becoming increasingly popular across Sydney and if you have not yet experienced it then it is definitely worth trying, unless you are vegetarian. Churrasco is maybe the best Brazillain Bbq I have tried so far and they do serve vegetarian options so if you are the one vege in a crowd, you should be safe. The thing about Brazillian BBQ is, it is generally meat upon meat upon meat. Mind you the meat is delicious, very salty (but in a good way) and the servings could feed an army. I don't think I would dine on Brazillian BBQ regularly though as it is a bit too much meat and lacking balance of other foods for me. read more

Haven't been here in 2 1/2 years, but it was such a great deal. $38 for a Brazilian meat buffet in Sydney, what can beat that? Every cut of meat was a perfect medium rare, and I left ready to explode every time. The beach is right down the block so I never obeyed the 'Wait 30 minutes after you eat before you swim' Rule. Does anyone still follow that anyway? The seating was long picnic table style, and of course, servers would walk around with their rods of meat. I'd liken it to a contest of whose meat is nicer when you pick and choose what you want. There was a crap ton of different kinds of steak, chicken, lamb, and even odd parts like chicken heart. Service was always top notch, and I can't think of another place in the area to dine like a king, and not leave with your wallet feeling like it was impaled by one of those rods. Unless you lose a bet and have to eat 5 meat pies in one sitting...that meal can be had for about $25, but you sure aren't going to feel like a king! The meats are super tasty, tender, delicious... The meat cuts are varied and are all soo good. I cannot fault the food or service here. From the moment you're seated, turn your badge to green for go, and let the onslaught of meat begin. The service is thick, fast, friendly and very understanding of customers grunting requests with contented faces full of food. Handy tip - ignore the bread and rice as these take up valuable room that could be used for fitting in more MEAT. Also, make sure to squeeze in a couple of pieces of zucchini and pineapple too - both are delicious and will also keep mum happy by having some nice & healthy fruit and vege. The meats are decent and not as salty as I was expecting, some have A LOT of fat and that added to the fact that they will serve you a very small piece each time at a one every 15 pass is a turn off. Not many vegetable options, someone mentioned that there was some grilled zucchini maybe but I never saw that coming, there were many waiters but the flux of them coming with different plates was veeery slow and they would leave a small piece and run like if it was for their point. Note: I came here in December 2008. Churrasco was my first experience at a Brazilian BBQ/churrascaria. And boy, was it the restaurant of my dreams. This place serves excellent and delicious food. Everything we got was cooked perfectly. If I had known I would be coming here for dinner, I would've been eating plain soup the day before to expand my stomach! Anyway, we tried most of the stuff that came our way. As I recall, all the beef was delicious, pork was great, chicken was also pretty good. I don't think I had any of the lamb (personal preference). Located minutes away from Coogee beach, Churrasco BBQ is a barbecue joint offering a tapas style set menu for $43 per person. You can't miss the delicious smell as you approach the restaurant. The menu is so extensive, we bet you won't be able to even finish all the dishes. Tanmay and I were struggling towards the end! We got loads of dishes including Creamy Baked Potatoes with Rosemary and Mozzarella, Fried Banana, Chimmi Churri, Chicken Thigh Fillet in a traditional Brazilian Sauce, Lamb Rump marinated in Lemon & Oregano and so much more! Food was good. However they have an absolutely asinine policy of not spilling checks. We came in with a group of co-workers and through our company was granted to purchase meals on our company cards. This place was unwilling to take a card from each of us, even though they still charge a 2% CC fee. Don't recommend groups of people visit this establishment. read more

While vacationing in Sydney and looking for other food options other than the one restaurant in the Sheraton I stumbled upon this Brazilian churrasco. For the special of $35pp it was delicious. The steaks were prepared rare to medium well so I really enjoyed it. I recommend getting there right when it opens spying get the best table and right when the food is prepared. read more

Recently went with the kids and family.....very satisfied. Quality food all around from the assorted meats, to the variety of salads, and the cocktails.....all top notch. You better come hungry and stay for a while as the food just keeps coming as long as your "green light" is turned over on your table. My 2 kids both under 6 didn't pay....bonus! Nice lively atmosphere...happy bartenders....service a little slow....nothing that would keep me from going back.
