    Croc burger and broccolini
    Thembi S.

I thought I was ready to eat kangaroo...I was not, but I'd done research on various restaurants who offer that type of meat, and the Meat District Co came up in a search. I arrived at the restaurant and was impressed with the look and feel. I'd say modern gentleman's club, with harbor views. I was seated outside, overlooking the bustling boardwalk and boat slips. I ordered the crocodile burger, broccolini, and a cider. I liked the taste of the croc meat...it gave me a fatty bbq pork ribs vibe, so the texture was great and the general flavor was good, but it was underseasoned IMO. Otherwise, everything was great. Service and payment were easy. If I ever do get the gumption to try kangaroo, I know where I'll go.

Being a pescatarian I was a little spectacle about this place. Seeing the first few pages of the menu with all the meat options got me a little worried, from crocodile to kangaroo hmm lol but they have a variety on their menu that caters for all dietary requirements. They also cater for allergies. Venue is stunning with a gorgeous water view. They have an upstairs and downstairs seating area. Staff are very friendly and restaurant is clean. Great cocktail options and wine list. We had the lamb on the rack which looked very juicy and my husband had no complains. It came with salad and corn. We also had chicken wings on the table which was devoured by my son in less than 5min. I had the barramundi sandwich which was perfect and refreshing with the right amount of seasoning. Ordered a side of truffle fries which paired very well with my sandwich. We had a bottle of the French rośe which did not disappoint on a sunny day. Overall great experience and we will be back.

Upon research I was looking for a restaurant to have kangaroo meat on the menu and I found it here. I ordered the kangaroo filet which is cooked rare and it came with garlic truffle mashed potatoes along with a Jack Daniel's sauce. The kangaroo steak itself was really delish and not gamey at all. My steak tasted very similar to beef and I was surprised how good it tasted. The Jack Daniel's sauce was good but a little strong. Perhaps the whiskey needs to be cooked down some more. The garlic truffle mash was very good. The restaurant sits right in Darling Harbour and next to the water with beautiful views from the restaurant. I wish I would've tried the crocodile burger but I was already full. Maybe next time.

I was excited to try the kangaroo. The influencer on YouTube made it sound like the meat was as tender as a filet. That wasn't the case. It was pretty chewy but the dipping sauce helped to make it easier to chew. The garlic truffle mash had a great flavor but too many lumps for mashed potatoes.

The next time you are in Sydney, make time to hit this spot. It's not the least expensive place but the food was worth every cent.

Great place to come with a view of the water, and 2 levels to choose from! Service was amazing! We came on Sunday around 5pm and enjoyed happy hour 3-6pm wine and bubbly! We ordered a delicious steak and the sliders which were mouth watering yummy! We sat on the 2nd floor and had a nice view of the water and it wasn't too busy upstairs but more busier downstairs so if you want it a bit louder go downstairs!

The sirloin was really good, me medium rare was cooked to perfection, I find many place over cook steak. The ribs weren't very flavorful, and the sauce on the ribs weren't the best. I would stick with steak not ribs next time!

OMG the Kangaroo dinner and Bone Marrow appetizer where banging!!! I would no doubt recommend this place if your looking to eat something this unique!

The sister wanted to try some kangaroo meat so we found this place as one of the restaurants that sells them. We walked in and stood at the entrance for a good 5 mins. No one greeted us or even acknowledged our presence. There were no customers seated at any of the tables and all the workers were behind the bar area. We made our presence known and they told us to seat ourselves downstairs. KANGAROO- chargrilled served rare with truffle mash potato with jack daniels sauce Kangaroo didn't have much taste to it. It was chewy and flavorless. The jack daniels sauce added some sweetness to it, but there was nothing spectacular about this dish in terms of flavor and presentation. The truffle mash potato was very grainy and flavor was also very subtle and on the borderline bland. SLIDERS FLIGHT- 3 mini burgers, an old faithful, crumbled chicken, and lamb pull The OLD FAITHFUL BURGER was a basic beef burger. I liked the sweet caramelized onions with the sour acidic pickle and the meaty patty. It was good, but in terms of good burgers, the flavors are pretty simple and basic. CRUMBLED CHICKEN BURGER was another basic chicken sandwich. Flavors were okay with the mushrooms and aioli sauce. It was creamy and earthy. I didn't like this burger though because the chicken itself was bland and too dry. My least favorite was the LAMB PULL. The bbq sauce was sweet, but it didn't go well with the meatiness of the lamb. The flavor was just off and didn't complement one another. The price we paid was not worth it. Our dishes were very underwhelming in terms of flavors. I was very disappointed. I was looking for unique flavors, but not only did I not get that, but I pretty much didn't get any flavors.

    Brie hamburger, fries are extra

Great location with a good view of the water front. As well as outside, that is covered, they have seating indoors and upstairs (great views). Servers are friendly and attentive. My husband had the Brie burger which he said was delicious. It didn't come with fries, you had to order fries separately if you wanted it. I had the rib eye with bone attached with green salad. I felt that the steak was good but I found it a little more on the lean side. I normally order the rib eye because it has some fat to make it more flavourful. It was cooked to perfection. When it came to pay they had added a Sunday surcharge of 10% which we weren't aware of. We are visitors to Sydney, so didn't know if this is what all restaurants do. As a tourist, this seemed strange for us.

Absolute gem on the waterfront! It's overwhelming how many beautiful patios are overlooking the water in Barangaroo! We didn't walk the entire strip of selection, but we scoped our a couple happy hours and settled on Meat District Co. based on their happy hour beer and cocktails. As they have some kind of not full bar licence that I don't entirely understand, you need to order food in order to keep the drinks coming. Which was no problem for us, we were hungry!! But in my hunger I also wanted to go for something with much needed nutritional value so I opted for the skewered marinated lamb on spinach pumpkin salad. IT WAS SO GOOD! It was everything I wanted in a salad and more! My friend wasn't too impressed with her burger but I wasn't really listening to her complaints because I was so captivated by my lamb. I told her to get the lamb salad next time.

Nice steak/ribs/burger restaurant with great views on the top floor (especially by the open window area). Food was large sized (especially the ribs/burger combo, which was huge). Friendly service, and some quirky design elements (loved the menus shaped like a cleaver). Ribs were super soft, fall off the bone, but tasted a bit more like boiled than BBQ'd (i.e. should probably have spent a bit more time on the grill)

Pretty cool awesome menu book. Very unique!

Located in the popular "The Rocks" tourist area, it is full of charm and staffed by the friendliest folks you'll meet in Sydney. You felt happy just walking by the place. It was full of energy and bustle. We ate there twice, once for breakfast and, since we liked it so much, went back for dinner. Both were outstanding. Service was great. For dinner, I was just in the mood for a simple Burrata Salad and a Spaghetti Bolognaise. Now, the Rocks is not an Italian place, but their versions of these dishes were among the best I've ever had. My partner had the fish and chips, and raved about that too. If you can prepare such simple dishes so beautifully, I can imagine how good the other items on the menu must be. When we left, the woman I imagined to be an owner gave us a wonderful thank you and farewell. THIS is the way to run a small tourist spot!

Inside wasn't bad, the table was big and the chairs comfortable. We were waited on immediately. Servers fly around like dancers, it's actually pretty impressive. Our food arrived in no time. My wife had fish and chips and I had lamb and rosemary pie. She enjoyed her meal. Mine was different than I've had before. It was still ok but I wouldn't order it again. Others would probably like it, it just wasn't for me. We didn't have any dessert but as you walk in the door they have some wonderful looking pies and cakes. Do yourself a favor and save room for one of those. I messed up and didn't try something. This is actually a really cool restaurant that I would like to try again. I wouldn't let one dish that didn't hit my taste buds keep me away.

Our hotel's concierge suggested we look into breakfast eateries or a bakery at nearby Barangaroo wharf and pointed us two blocks down on Sussex Street, where we stumbled upon Wild Sage. Walking up to their patio dining area, we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a choice between patio and indoor seating and provided menus. We chose to dine outdoors to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather and cool yet comfortable temperature. After being seated, the young man, brought us glasses of chilled water while we waited for the server to take our morning beverage and breakfast orders. Our cheery server, Marissa, came by shortly after delivering another table's order and we were ready to order right away. FOOD & BEVERAGE: -Sticky Chai Tea: I requested the chai tea as its blend of natural spices with soy milk appealed to me on this slightly chilly morning. As I poured the steamy steeping hot chai tea through the strainer into the glass, its full aromas wafted towards me as I "aerated" or pulled the tea. $8.50 AUD -Proscuitto Toastie: Triple cheese (Gruyere, mozzarella, & scamorza), sliced proscuitto, truffle bechamel, & pickles on soy linseedsourdough. Although we're slightly lactose-intolerant, my husband decided to order this "upscale" ham and cheese sandwich. It was so rich in flavors and textures that he could only eat half the portion even though he was tempted to finish both sandwich halves. Notably, the toasted sourdough's crisp, crunchy, exterior and warm chewy interior tasted of caramelization and nuttiness. Its tangy sourness offered a savory balance to the creamy, slightly nutty and sweet scamorza and mozzarella cheeses. The creamy cheeses balanced the savory saltiness from the proscuitto and Gruyere. $24 AUD -Truffle Mushroom Toast: I selected this open faced toasted sourdough sandwich which was generously topped with roasted mixed mushrooms, confit garlic and truffle butter, thyme, goat cheese, crispy leeks, and poached eggs. The roasted mixed mushrooms flavors were enhanced "just right" with the truffle butter without being overpowered. This vegetarian sandwich was protein-packed, filling, and very flavorful. $26 AUD We took our time over breakfast while discussing our Sydney exploration plans at this clean, bright, and friendly cafe. It's too bad we didn't have more time in Sydney to return for more but, isn't that the dilemma while traveling? "Too many restaurants, too little time."
