They had some specialtybchorros for the holiday and it was too tempting to not try one. I've been to a couple of their other locations, and my favorites are the churros with hot chocolate. People sometimes line-up outside of the door to order their freshly made churros. These churros are unlike the kind that you would find on the street or somewhere else, and I think the secret is the absolute freshness. We're talking minutes after they come out of their churro maker to your plate. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to offer a package with arroz con leche or atole with churros. The churroria is somewhat small, but their are plenty of places to sit along the sidewalk. This place is definitely a hallmark of Mexico City.
During my trip to Mexico City, TikTok brought me to Churrería El Moro. My first attempt had me waiting in a line around the block, so I came back the next day when the wait was much more reasonable. I tried the churros with their dipping sauces: condensed milk, Nutella, and guava. While the churros weren't as warm as I expected, the dipping sauces definitely helped--the condensed milk was my favorite. The place itself is beautiful and worth seeing, but I don't think I'd make the effort to go back. Glad I tried it though!
No one in my family of three enjoy churros, but Churreria El Moro changed our minds. Opened in 1935, they constantly make fresh, warm churros. Order as many as you like and watch them cut off your piece from a giant roll of them. They sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on it right before your eyes. Pick one of four sauces. The milk chocolate and leche sauces were amazing!
You can find this amazing chain all over CDMX and it's the perfect rest spot when your feet are tired. The churros, hot chocolate, milkshakes, and dipping sauces are all delicious. Service is fast, and the facilities are clean.
I mean, howww could we have resisted? Saw this place on a lot of recommendation lists and they have become so popular that there are several locations throughout Mexico City. We opted to try the cinnamon sugar churros with a hazelnut dip and it was absolutely delicious. While they were very fresh, they weren't very warm but alas. My friends got Mexican hot chocolate while I tried their Cafe de Olla. We all agreed they weren't the best we'd ever had, but still overall delicious. It's hard to find a bad churro!
We went to the Roma Norte location. Service was quick. Churros were delicious. I had the cinnamon/sugar option and 3 different dips but my favorite was the condensed milk dip. We also ordered a hot chocolate Espana style was the absolute best! It was thick and sweet which is exactly how it was described.
The theme in this little churro café is very clean, white with a little hint of blue... We just had breakfast around the corner at Bonetta's and we were absolutely full, we swore we could not eat another bite, we said we probably wouldn't eat for the rest of the day... and here we walk right in front of el Moro and order the fresh us churro with dark chocolate dipping sauce. We all agreed that this was the freshest most flavorful and delicious pastry , ever.... Just keep in mind that they make them fresh to order so you may have to wait a few moments but it is most definitely worth the wait ... the churros come out so hot that you have to wait a moment for them to cool down before you chomp into them... go there and just enjoy it!

Very nice churro establishment where you can order churros, drinks and dips to go or dine-in in upstairs area overlooking street. Service was a little slow at first, but establishment was clean. There are bathrooms upstairs.
The place dirty and the churros were not that great (a little dried). The ice cream was good. I would go back just for the ice cream.
Ok, not great. Stopped by around 11pm on a Friday evening and waited in a 30 min line. Ordered the regular and red velvet churros. Churros were not warm or very soft. Ordered the Espanol hot chocolate which is EXTREMELY rich and CHOCOLATEY (almost bitter)
I've got to be honest. As Instagramable as the Mercado Roma is, with its iconic signage, open air stalls and exposed brickwork, I'm sad to say we found it hard to locate a really wonderful food stall in this entire food hall. With one exception: Churrieria El Moro. This iconic churro shop somehow blends perfect aesthetics (I love their packaging and logo) with the best tasting, freshest churros I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The churros we ordered here were warm, crisp on the outside, simple and absolutely delicious. We had to get the chocolate dipping sauce and it was thick, substantial, and the perfect compliment. It really doesn't get better than this. Skip the dry tacos and the chalky lattes at some of the other vendors, and march right back to Churreria El Moro, for the best food in Mercado Roma. The Churreira El Moro also has a much larger location in Roma Norte that is supposed to be gorgeous as well, and it ends up on everyones photos from the CDMX, so perhaps check that out as well.

My friends and I stopped by for dessert (and to get out of the rain) and it was perfect! Fernando was super helpful and even gave us complimentary churros while we waited for our moritos. We enjoyed the Mexican hot chocolate which wasn't too hot or sweet. Perfect for a rainy evening! We never felt rushed to leave. I'm definitely coming back.! read more
Um... YUM. This spot was originally on my CDMX itinerary as a post-dinner dessert, but since we were nearby and looking for a snack, we decided to stop in earlier (and honestly, I wish I had gone back again ). There was a small line, and after ordering it did take a bit to get our food, but that was totally fine. Perfection takes time! The ambiance is very casual and geared toward a quick stop. There's plenty of seating for an easy in-and-out, but it's not really a place meant to linger. It's more of an open-concept setup-covered, but still open to the outside air. We ordered the mini ice cream churro sandwiches (can't remember the exact name): two vanilla and one Fresca, which was basically strawberry. Maybe it was because we were hungry, but wow- they smacked. The vanilla paired with the churro was especially incredible. Since I felt like I still hadn't gotten the full churro experience I was craving in CDMX, I hopped back in line and ordered the classic churro. Let me tell you... this thing was HUGE. Basically three churros in one. It came out warm, perfectly crisp, and coated in the best cinnamon topping. You're asked if you want sugar or cinnamon sugar, and with a bit of a language barrier (they don't speak much English), I just said yes and ended up with half cinnamon, half sugar. No complaints here! The cashier and staff were all super friendly and smiley, which made the experience even better despite the communication gap. Overall, such a delicious stop and 100% worth it. read more
I felt confident that Churreria El Moro would be the first thing that popped up when Googling "where to get churros in Mexico City." Fun fact it was indeed my first AND second confirmatory search result. So obviously this place is a bit touristy and they have now expanded to 17 locations in CDMX. The churros were piping hot, crunchy, chewy, and delicious. We also had a lot of fun settling on what hot chocolate flavor we wanted to try. We went with the Especial, which had a bit of spice and we really liked. But it didn't really work for dipping (apparently Spanish is the play for the thickest and most dip-able varietal). Prices were pretty reasonable, about $5/$6 USD for a drink and 4 large churros. Endless praise to the staff who were patiently trying to communicate through two language barriers with a large group that was somehow baffled by what both churros and hot chocolate were. read more

We went to the Roma Norte location. Service was quick. Churros were delicious. I had the cinnamon/sugar option and 3 different dips but my favorite was the condensed milk dip. If you want churros this is the place to go. $27 pesos for 4 huuuuge churros and a dipping sauce, you really can't go wrong. Met every expectation I had for a churro place and exceeded them on price and quantity. We also ordered a hot chocolate and it was creamy, heavy, thick and we had to pass it around our group of 6 to finish the whole cup. Definitely make it here during your trip to CDMX! read more

After a disappointing breakfast pastry run in the neighborhood, I was still looking for something to satisfy my carby tooth. It wasn't too crowded in the morning. Outdoor seating with a few benches, clean and modern branding. I like pastries and fried goods but nothing too sweet so the churros here hit the spot - I got the paquette, a great value for 72 pesos: Churros (4) dusted with the cinnamon sugar - Fresh, crispy texture, and not too doughy, oily, or sweet. Very tasty! Chocolate caliente español - A very thick and rich velvety texture with lot of spices - cinnamon. The texture is pudding like champurrado, thickened with cornstarch, it's sweet (not overwhelmingly so) but also savory in how rich it is. I dipped the churros in the chocolate and was pleased. I ate 3 churros and half of the hot chocolate and was full for hours afterwards. read more

Small spot in Mercado Roma, but serves its purpose, nice deco as well. Churros are what I was expecting, we tried 3 different hot chocolate and I liked the traditional more but if you want to dip Your churros go for the Spanish one. Service was ok. Location was convenient to avoid going to the main branch which is in downtown El Centro. Would recommend it for sure! read more

To all my churros lovers if you are in Mexico City you must stop at Churreria El Moro , you can find them everywhere in the city and some locations are open 24 hrs . Try everything . from the churros with dulce de leche , to the churro ice cream sandwich to the hot chocolate read more
