We order churros, cafe de olla, chocolate oaxaqueno, chocolate mexicano frio. We noticed that people were ordering topings for the churros. Guayaba paste, chocolate-nutella and condensed milk. So we paid extra for the 2 tooics which honestly were wasted money . The churros are delicious all on their own without the extra toppings. I actually liked the cafe olla, you can taste the cinnamon in the coffee , so delicious and boiling hot when served on the big white cups. The churro, freshly made dosed on sugar, crunchy when you bite, yet light, perfect every bute.
El Moro is iconic. I went early in the morning and the seating area was not open yet. I opened the 4 piece churros with sugar and cinnamon. The churros were freshly made. The churros are warm and crispy. Very toasty. Next time I want to try the chocolate to dip the churro.
This was the first location to ever open up back in 1935. The bldg itself has been taken care of well and the inside is nice. Service was great and fast. We stopped by around 11pm on a Sunday and it was still pretty busy. The hot chocolate with whip is a must and you cant go wrong with an order of original churros with condensed cream. This is a must!
It's what all the hype was about and then some. Restaurant clean, service friendly and churros delicious. Don't let the long line detour you, line moved really fast. Was surprised that dips come in small container that doesn't truly allow you to "dip" but didn't change the experience.
Churrería El Moro is always a good idea. We stopped by around 2pm on Christmas Eve and, no surprise, the place was still packed--but absolutely worth it. We went classic with an order of four churros and the trio of dips: chocolate, guava, and cajeta. Perfect move. Each person in our family had a different favorite dip, which meant the churros disappeared very quickly. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and best enjoyed dunked generously. Despite the crowds, service was prompt, friendly, and efficient, which made the experience even better. Simple, iconic, and delicious--El Moro is a must-try (and re-try) when you're in Mexico City.
This was an eagerly-awaited stop on our trip to Mexico City. We weren't in the least bit hungry but had to try the famous churros at their original location. From our friendly yet no-nonsense waitress, we ordered 4 churros and a dipping sauce: chocoavellena (a close cousin of Nutella). Churros were freshly fried, profoundly crispy and slathered in cinnamon sugar. By the time we (barely) finished the third churro, we were overly full but we were happy with the experience.
We were craving something sweet, and we definitely found it. Churrería El Moro is well known for its exceptional churros. We ordered a package of four churros and one hot chocolate (Especial). The churros were crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, not too sweet, and absolutely delicious. The hot chocolate was the perfect pairing. The place was busy and lively even late at night. A great stop if you're in the mood for a classic treat.
Churrería El Moro makes the best churros I have ever had. We tried a few different flavors and every single one was fantastic. The chocolate dip is a must. It's so rich and delicious you could honestly eat it on its own. I also had a Mexican hot chocolate that was perfectly made with the right amount of cinnamon and spice. This location gets extremely busy, especially during peak hours, and seating is very limited. But the line moves quickly and the staff do an amazing job keeping things flowing. The crowds alone tell you how popular it is. If you're in Mexico City, this spot is absolutely worth the stop for a warm, fresh churro and something sweet to drink.
Hmmm I really came here with some really high hopes on the churros especially from all the positive reviews now I may have gotten the one bad waitress who was rude but the whole experience wasn't what I was expecting first she was upset that I asked for a menu and didn't know what I wanted on the top of my head keep in mind it's my first time here. The building and vibe of the place was amazing everyone enjoying their churros. When we got the churros of 4 with 2 sodas the churros had a weird burned taste to them the sugar coating didn't help the unpleasant old oil taste to it. I'm glad me and my brother split the order since we still left 1and 1/2 churro that I couldn't stomach to finish. I will be willing to try them again maybe a different location maybe I got a bad batch.
Very large location that was easy to get into. Churros were OK but definitely didn't live up to the hype. The ones I've gotten fresh off street vendors are definitely better. If the chocolate dip was warm it would have been better, it was hard to dip the churros in. The condensed milk was better.
The good: This place is open 24/7! This was definitely on the top of my to try list in CDMX. I didn't want to expect too much but the churros did surpass my expectations. It was deliciously fresh, crispy, crunchy and the right amount of chewy and sweet. I tried the churros ice cream sandwiches too. The worker there was super friendly. The pride was great. The bad: The churro ice cream sandwiches aren't as good as just plain churros because the cold ice cream hardens the churro crunch and makes it soggy as well. The strawberry flavor also tasted artificial. The interesting: They sell shakes and coffee too.
Churro's are something I always seek out so why not go to a place that has been doing it for 90 years cause they gotta be doing something right and they are in a sugary cinnamon way! The churro's here were hot and just perfect in every way you could imagine the flavor was there the sugar cinnamon combo was on point and they were definitely some of the best ones I've ever had! The real star here is those churro ice cream sandwiches those things are where it's all as you take one of their already delicious churros and make it into an ice cream sandwich with yummy flavorful ice cream then you have it made with each and every single bite! Their milkshake was also yummy too but I feel as if the ice cream sandwich's were just that much better with each and every bite! We came here a few times and my favorite of them was my last time in the early morning hours as no one was here and we pretty much had the place to ourselves our service was awesome they were all very friendly and quick to get things. Overall this was where it was at if your looking for churros in the city then this is the spot if your a churro lover then this is your spot so definitely don't pass it by because we didn't more than once as it was that good!
Decided to sit indoors. Wait was pretty short. Ordered the 4 churros combo with Mexican hot chocolate and 3 dips (chocolate, caramel and condensed milk). The churros were lowkey disappointing--not hot or warm and they tasted bland. The dipping sauces were okay--my fave was the chocolate one; I'm still undecided about the other two. Churrería El Moro has been around since 1935 making churros and they do it exceedingly well. This location is located by the city center and after sight seeing, my husband and I decided to stop by here for churros. Luckily when we came last Sunday, around 2 pm, there was no wait for a table. An employee saw us and told us to sit anywhere. As soon as sat down, another employee brought us menus. We ended up getting: Grande Lechero, $54 MXN ($3.13 USD)- Large size coffee with milk. When our server brought over my husband's drink, she made a grand show of pouring the milk up high into my husband's coffee. I just wished I had gotten a video of it but it was definitely very fun to watch. My husband said his coffee was good (I didn't have any because I am not much of a coffee drinker). Combo 1 with Grande chocolate drink, $155 MXN ($8.98 USD)- So this combination comes with 4 large pieces of churros, 1 dip of your choice and also a chocolate drink. I ended up choosing a Mexican hot chocolate, which is made with cinnamon and sugar. Surprisingly the drink wasn't overly sweet. And really was perfect to dip my churro into the hot chocolate. For the dip, I picked cajeta, which is caramel made with goats milk. The cajeta was excellent with the churro. I don't know if this was the best churro that I have ever had, but it is definitely one of the top ones I have ever had. My husband also enjoyed the churros and the cajeta (he also liked my hot chocolate too). --------------------------- (Total= $209 MXN or $12.11 USD prior to tip) Wait time for our items was pretty quick. We waited less than 10 minutes for everything. Also credit card is accepted so my husband paid (We have the Costco Visa credit card which does not have a foreign transaction fee, which we used exclusively when we were not paying cash). Our server brought a card reader machine to our table when we were ready to pay (for those of you unaware, in Mexico, you will not be brought your check until you ask for it because it is considered rude to give it to you beforehand, assuming that you are being rushed). Overall, we had a really great experience at this location and highly recommend checking out any of the Churrería El Moro locations the next time you visit Mexico City. read more
Came here late around 9 it was packed and had a short line out the door. The line for take out was even shorter so we opted for take out since our hotel was right around the corner. Got an order of 4 churros with caramel (cajeta) and guava (Guayaba) dipping sauces, they were out of chocolate. You can have them tossed in regular sugar or cinnamon sugar which is traditional. The churros were warm and crispy on the outside and soft inside but had a slight burnt flavor. Both dipping sauces were good but in a different way. It's like donuts topped with caramel or guava, one is more fruity and the other more sweet. Just depends what you're in the mood for or what you prefer. I also got the frances hot chocolate which is their hot chocolate with vanilla. It was better than what I had earlier at another place. Overall the churros were good but not the best i've had. read more
While I realize this is a chain, I am only giving four stars because we had a better experience at another location that I will also review. While the staff was friendly and we were able to get a seat, the churros were just ok. And the ice cream was crystal/icy and not what I would have hoped for. I enjoyed the live music buskers that came through, which was a nice touch. Overall, ok but not the best. read more

This is the famous churro restaurant, established in 1935 and it was a full house from the moment we stepped inside but we were served quickly. The churros were good, not great. We got 4 for $56 pesos (roughly $3 US dollars). You can get single churros for $15 pesos ($.80 US dollars). We also got 2 cups of hot chocolate ($80 each - $4.25 US dollars) - one Mexicana which was light and airy, and the Francais which is vanilla creamy). The vanilla was a little better but they were about average tasting. I have to admit, we heard quite a few people say this place has the best churros they've ever had but to be honest I've had much better. I will probably try other places before I come back here. read more

I absolutely loved the churros here! They were very soft and delicious. I liked how they were very warm when I tried them. I also dipped them in the hot chocolate and I definitely recommend it. The hot chocolate was very nice and the chocolate wasn't overpowering! read more
This is located in the heart of busy streets, few blocked from the art museum. There were no lines, got seated right away. You can see the people cooking the churro in the front, all hot and fresh to serve. For 5 people, we shared the 12 churros with 3 different dipping. 12 was definitely enough for all of us. I just wish they had more sugar coated on the ends of churros. Most of the sugar was in the middle. As for the dipping, the caramel was hard, it wasn't easy for us to use it as a dipping. We all mostly loved the Nutella. I also tried their chocolate milk, and that was refreshing. Service was super slow, it took a while for our server to give us our check. For most of the time, we didn't even see her. All servers were dressed to a uniform which reminds me of diner service in America. I thought they were cute. read more
The original El Moro! This shop definitely looks and feels very much like the churrería shops in Spain and I love it. My husband prefers their modern shops but either way, the churros are just as good here as in other locations. read more
It was raining cats and dogs, and we braved through all of that to get to El Moro. Compared to the other locations, this one is older and a little grungier but still the same high-quality churros, though. This location has sandwiches and other food as well. read more

El Moro is one of my favorite dessert stops in Mexico City. The churros come out hot and fresh, and they're amazing on their own but dipping them into the hot chocolate takes it to another level. The chocolate is rich and comforting, and it pairs perfectly with the crispy churros. It's one of those places I always make time for when I'm in town. The red velvet churro was soooo good. The iced Mexican hot chocolate was as well. The service here is really fast and they have a good amount of tables. They also have a lot of bathrooms, which I've noticed some churro places don't. Definitely recommend stopping here if you have a sweet craving! read more

A guy at the. Hotel we are staying at told us about this place, said they're the best Churros. After walking about 10k steps we finally found it. We ordered the 4 Churros and 3 dips. These were the best Churros I've ever had! Wish I could take some home with me. read more
I can see why many people have recommended El Moro. The wait is worth it, but I think it's best to eat there. We took ours to go so the churros weren't warm anymore. Still delicious (we were eating them for the next 2 days). But better warm. The churros are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And there are different sugars to choose from. My friends ordered and pretty sure we got the cinnamon one. Since the churros weren't as warm when we got back to our Airbnb, I dipped them in my Mexican hot chocolate, which luckily was hot. It is a match made in dessert heaven! The hot chocolate had intense chocolate flavor. It wasn't very sweet and that allowed the spices to really shine. So dipping a churro to give it a little sugar boost that balanced all the flavors well. I think this location is undergoing construction at the moment because the space next to it looks it's going to be an expansion of their current floor plan. My suggestion is to wait in line to dine in and while you wait, get some carnitas tacos from their taco stand right next door. The line for take-out is also long, but it goes faster if you can't wait. read more
Everyone recommends this churreria and it definitely lives up to the hype! The churros come out fresh, hot, and crispy, and are incredible paired with the chocolate dip. The order of 4 is pretty large, so I'd recommend sharing. I didn't try anything else, but the hot chocolates drinks also looked amazing. Will have to come back again next time. read more
Very, very good churros. My one very minor complaint is they was just a tiny bit dry (at least to my liking - might be exactly the was they are supposed to be). Regardless, great place to get a churro. The cinnamon and sugar was my favorite. They had sweetened condensed milk dip, which was also very nice. Very busy. read more

While it might look like a tourist trap, the churros here are delicious, warm, and soft and make house-made Mexican Hot Chocolate to dip churros into. Depending on one's hunger, I would recommend 2-3 per person, but note that the flavor profile can be a little sweet. Surprisingly, I fell in love with their Zarzamora (blueberry) ice cream that they had as a promotional and temporary flavor inside of their churro ice cream sandwiches. Service is fast, they have a clean bathroom, and the decor in the restaurant is also superb. read more

The churros here are delicious. I ordered the combo of four churros and a chocolate milkshake. However, I do wish they had combos offering just two churros because four was too many for me as a solo traveler. Best churros I've had though! read more

My favorite churro place I've been to in Mexico City! If I could eat these churros everyday I would! The only complaint I have about this place was that it was hard to find as the sign was blocked by a curtain overhead type thing. The service was friendly and fast and the churros were amazing! We ordered four churros with three dipping sauces: hazelnut, chocolate, and condensed milk. The hazelnut sauce was similar to Nutella, the chocolate was a little bitter to my liking as its Mexican chocolate, and my favorite was the condensed milk which was sweet. If you're in Mexico City this is a must try! They also have many other locations in the city that's worth checking out. read more

Had to stop here and enjoy that sweet tooth craving from churros to hot cocoa and shakes. The service was fast and easy to order and it is a busy place so lots of ppl in there enjoying the same delicious food. This spot did not disappoint. I would come back for more. Thank you much read more
Churrería El Moro is a must if you're in Mexico City. Yes, their traditional churros are delicious but I actually like their non-traditional churros with the ice cream a lot better (I forgot the name). It's crispy on the outside and gooey and soft on the inside, what's not to love? I got it with the seasonal banana caramel flavor and my mom got it with the vanilla flavor. Both were fantastic. All in all, glad that this chain is doing well in Mexico City! read more
