Lovely little chateau in St Remy. On our first night, we got in late and GPS was not cooperating so we had a bit of a hard time finding the road that lead to the chateau. There are basically two roads that lead to this place, the main road and what they call the "shortcut." The ended up taking taking the "shortcut" in, which was unlit. After spending some time in St Remy, we have discovered that it is actually easier to get in and out of this place versus some other hotels located inside St Remy. It was a short and pleasant drive to the city. While some people choose to walk - please don't! It is really a five minute drive and the road is not meant for pedestrians.
The hotel was lovely. We got a room with outdoor access from our room. That was a very convenient feature, we were able to come and go as we please without going through the lobby.
5 Stars for the garden and the grounds
4 Stars for the Room itself, but they were very thoughtful since they can't really update such an old building. Wine glasses and opener were provided in the room in case you needed. The bathroom was huge, it was almost as big as the bedroom itself. It had a towel warmer. I really liked the bathtub, but the separate shower area was weird.
The staff was friendly. The receptionist on our first night took the liberty to put together a list of restaurants for us to try. I think it was a good choice to stay. Overall it was a good experience. read more
